40 DEATHLY ENCOUNTER

Shiro left the gate and began walking onwards, paying no mind to what was behind him.

'Why do I suddenly feel pissed off?' Shiro groaned. Stomping his feet on the ground as he kept trying to walk faster.

He suddenly noticed a red bicycle abandoned at the side of the road. It looked a bit battered, but not too damaged that it wouldn't be able to move.

"Nice!" Shiro smiled, he ran toward the bicycle and immediately checked the tires to see if any were punctured.

"Who leaves a bicycle out here like this?" He uttered, there was nothing wrong with the bicycle tires.

Shiro grinned before climbing onto the seat. "Don't mind if I do,"

He stepped on the pedal and the bicycle moved forward indicating that it was still working and nothing was wrong with it.

He placed his legs on the pedals and zoomed off, speeding as fast as he could.

After driving on the road for hours, he suddenly noticed that the sun was going down.

He stopped the bicycle on the side of the road before groaning while getting down for a stretch.

"Do I really have to go back?" Shiro raised a question, he began singing the song that was stuck in his head.

Out of nowhere, something hit the bicycle from the side, pushing it a few meters from its initial position.

"The hell!" Shiro shouted, he was startled by what happened, and he caught a glimpse of the being that hit the bicycle.

Although the animal was moving too fast for him to get a good look at it, Was that a wolf? Shiro thought to himself.

He walked back to the bicycle to check if something had been damaged.

When he saw the huge bump on the back tire of the bicycle, Shiro's face was filled with confusion, he knew there was no way an ordinary animal could make such an impact on a bicycle.

"Zombie dogs… but out here?" He looked around to see if he could see anything suspicious.

At this point, the sun had almost gone down, and the street was now filled with fog making it hard for Shiro to see anything.

Shiro sighed, "What am I getting so scared for, Jeez, I should be-"

He was suddenly interrupted by the female voice coming from the forest, the left-hand side of the street was filled with trees and rocks.

The girl's singing voice echoed throughout the street. Shiro was amazed by it, the beautiful voice alone was enough to make him picture the girl's face.

Of course, he wanted to ignore it, he thought she would be with a group of zombie killers or probably a squad.

But then the sound of a wolf's howling began to take over the female song and soon after Shiro could no longer hear her voice.

"Zombie dogs!"

Shiro yelled, he immediately ran into the forest, following the sound of the wolf's howl till he got close to them.

When he noticed the wolves he hid, 'Damn, they look bigger than normal,' Shiro thought to himself.

He flipped the button on his sword before drawing it out, he bent his back and was getting ready to ambush the wolves.

"What is human doing?"

Shiro shook after hearing a female voice behind his back, he turned to check, only to see a female zombie hanging upside down on the tree branch.

Shiro instinctively swung his sword at her, but she was fast enough to roll her body back up and jump straight in the middle of the wolves.

Coming into the open, Shiro held his sword in front of him while slowly moving away from the pack.

'Did she just speak? Nah, I guess it's just my imagination, Zombies don't-'

"Would you kindly give me your heart?" The female Zombie uttered, she sat down on the small boulder while stretching out her right hand.

The zombie wolves that were around her were up to at least twenty-three, and that was excluding the ones that were hiding behind the trees.

"Uhn?"

"Boss need hearts, human have heart. Doesn't he?"

'The hell! She totally just spoke' Shiro yelled inward, he tightened the grip on his sword as he began moving back.

'Zombies shouldn't be able to communicate… right? She just spoke… and she has intelligence, … what the hell is going on here?'

Different questions kept occurring inside Shiro's head, he couldn't make sense of what he saw but he knew it was dangerous.

"Will human not give heart?" The female zombie asked before standing to her feet.

"What are you?" Shiro asked.

"No then… too bad.." The female zombie grinned, her smile so wide it almost covered her whole face, "Kill!".

All the Zombie wolves immediately sped toward Shiro.

'Damn it, she's going to kill me now?' He was about to run when three wolves showed up at his side.

He was able to cut one down, but the other two pounced on him, "Get off me!".

Shiro yelled, he stabbed one of the wolves in the stomach and kicked the other. He didn't waste any time.

He immediately stood to his feet and was ready to run away, that was until he saw the female zombie.

She knelt in front of him while still carrying her crazy smile.

"Damn you!" Shiro yelled, he reached out for his sword only to receive a swift kick from the zombie.

She was so fast that Shiro didn't even see the kick coming, she landed the kick on his spine which broke almost every bone before sending him flying.

He lay on the ground with his body unable to move from the strain, "Urgh!" Shiro groaned from the pain he was feeling.

The female zombie landed on him before sitting on his stomach with her hands resting on his chest.

"I want heart… where is heart?" The female zombie asked, she stabbed his gut before pulling her hand out.

His blood soaked his cloth and began spilling on the ground, Shiro's eyes were almost dead after the female zombie kept stabbing different areas of his body.

'Is this it? Is this where I die?'
