A Lack Of Emotion

A new day started with Ray at school, sitting limply in his homeroom. It was a class of 20 or so students, most of whom were chatting endlessly with their friends because of the absence of their teacher, who was currently running late. Then again, even if he was present, it wouldn't change the volume of the room.

The bad students were always sat at the back, talking and causing trouble. Even when in class, they never engaged with any lessons, typically spoke over teachers and often picked on those weaker than them.

Both Jason and Ray were sat on neighbouring desks. they were at the very front of the room, directly behind the door, Ray's desk being the closest to it. Sadly, the trio was incomplete as Raika was in a different class, so the two had to cope without her.

Eventually, the teacher, a balding man with a large belly, silently entered the discordant classroom, getting himself ready at the front desk. He wasn't prepared to even attempt to quiet those at the back, out of fear of retaliation.

Soon after, another visitor arrived, causing the boys in the room to quickly become excited. A silver-haired girl with a black robe walked through the door. Her hood was pulled down, revealing an enchanting and cold allure.

Those at the back who originally had a mean demeanour were now blushing with their mouths wide open. Their voices couldn't be any quieter as they ogled with lustful eyes.

Jason too, was captured her beauty. "I've never seen her before, which class do you think she's in," he whispered to Ray.

The guy seated behind him interjected, "Don't be stupid Jason, that chick's totally out of your league." He was a small kid with large round glasses named Benjamin, whom the two were well acquainted with.

Jason grumbled in response.

Ray found himself passively listening, but with attention divided, as he couldn't shake the feeling that the girl was looking directly at her. 'Huh, is there something on my face?' he thought.

She looked at him emotionlessly, then asked a question. "Your name is Ray correct? She queried stoically.

Her voice wasn't loud enough for those at the back to hear, but both Jason and Benjamin who were behind him, sat there flabbergasted at the fact that she said that.

Benjamin complained, pointing his finger at Ray in frustration. "Why can't I be more like you Ray? I mean, when the heck did you get to meet a hottie like her!"

"But I don't know her."

The guy didn't really listen and instead continued to rant. "I seriously envy you man," he sighed. Jason agreed with this sentiment too, chiming in on the conversation.

"Once again, I don't know her," Ray repeated

Then, he soon realised that he left the girl's question unanswered: she continued to wait patiently with a neutral expression.

At first, Ray was apprehensive. After all, it's not like he didn't notice the black cloak that she was wearing. She was clearly related to those people that he 'encountered'. Ultimately however, even Ray couldn't resist this mysterious girl's beauty.

He looked to the side blushing, giving her an answer, unknowingly rewriting his fate forever. Previously Ray lived a normal life with his two best of friends, but this encounter would change thing drastically.

The girl looked at him, her silky hair flowing.

"I see," she said, shortly leaving the room, never to be seen again.

I will take a one week short break because of exams. I hope you enjoyed
