Sports week continues

Shin called to Warrick and told him he had decided to go back to class for a quick nap. Warrick nodded

"I will come get you if there is anything major"

Shin replied "alright then" and walked away. The moment he arrived in class, he took off his backpack and decided to place it on his lap with one of the arm holds wrapped around his arm.

"At least I can feel it when someone touches my bag". Shin knew it was better safe than sorry. At this school, your guard had to be up 24/7, six days a week. The time Shin had spent here at Kellinger high, cases of theft and stolen items where being reported at the assembly almost frequently.

It was already a half past twelve by the time he woke up only to find that all the excitement had died down and that there were quite a few people in the classroom. Some were conversing while some of the girls were putting make up on their faces. This was a usual click that Shin had been accustomed to seeing. They were a group of four girls and they would sit just in front of Bogry's seat and he too had made quite a friendship with them.

Shin decided to go out for a little stroll while he also visited the school toilets to take a leak but the moment he reached there, they looked so run down and old that some of the stalls were almost none operational and the others were quite disgusting to look at. He decided to take a leap of faith and go in. After a while, he came out and as he was closing his trouser zipper, he noticed that the girls toilets were just separated by a short wall but still connected to the boys toilets. He didn't think much of it and walked on.

By the time he reached the gate, the last batch was starting to go out as it was almost time for lunch. The best part about this was that after this there were no classes completely so the afternoon was free for everyone to do as they pleased.

After walking around for a while Shin soon met up with Warrick who was seated on the poverty line with some upperclassmen one being Kevin Seni who had befriended Shin a while back. He then sat down near Warrick as he informed Shin that there would be a basketball game in the evening to which Warrick had planned to be a part of.

Shin had always hated sports since he was in primary School as most of the time he was forced into them by the teachers and then when they didn't win, most blame was then put on him and his teammates and also he had never played or watched a basketball match in his life so he felt optimistic about liking it. So he decided to ask Warrick about it and the rules involved, to which he told Shin about the points system of three and two pointers and the fouls.

All simple stuff which didn't baffle Shin to understand although still being optimistic about the whole thing.

With Shin's expression, Warrick asked " wait, have you even been to a game before?"

To which Shin replied "no"

"Alright then I will get you up to speed on everything else", Warrick said!

A few hours passed and it was time for the game, all the students gathered up around the court and the poverty line which was adjacent to it and waited for the match to start.

The players all geared up with their sports shoes and one team took off their uniform shirts. All the girls began to stare at their chests which made some of the guys on the other team with shirts on slightly jealous though they couldn't show it.

Warrick was on the team with shirts on and had put on his brown sports shoes was ready to start the match. The teams comprised of five players on each side. The team with shirts on had mostly first years with just one third year player know as Fred with a medium build and short height and the rest were Rabaj, with a tall medium build and Omar who was just a tad bit taller than Fred with a muscular body and a slightly blacker skin complexion. All these were from Warrick's class.

The other team members for the shirtless team were all second and third players so even I the writer don't know their names at this point.

The match then commenced and the tip off was done by the sports teacher.

Shin sat on the poverty line which was already starting to get cramped with people which completely pissed him off and made him decide to stand somewhere else under the shade of one of the classroom buildings. Shin loved his peace and quiet and hated crowds of people because he knew he could never hold conversations with people whom he was not close with for more than a minute and all these such interactions drained him almost completely always.

The match went on smoothly with Fred doing the most trash talking during the match. Although he was like this, he loved basketball and had the best ball handling and dribbles on the entire court which he used to make flashy plays and funny ankle breaks during the game but the other team also had some of the best skilled players on court. the match was a tough one but by the end of the third quarter, the shirtless team was way a head with a score of 25 to 10.

That was already a huge lead which they couldn't bring down but could only persevere.

Omar, in the fourth quarter got the ball in one of the plays and managed to make a dunk with one hand which surprised not only the players of the teams but also all the people that were watching the game.

First of all, the hoops were regulation standard and with Omar's height, no one could believe their eyes when they saw this short player dunking.
