The Emperor (Part 1)

Azaroth's back crashed against the dungeon wall, a shockwave shaking the wall as he was engraved deeply…

'It doesn't matter if I gain strength,' Azaroth thought as he looked at the Knights which were steadily advancing toward him, 'The Dungeon is always one step ahead,'

The Dungeon seemed to be reminding him of his position- This wasn't like Solo Leveling and he needed to stop thinking of it like that… There could be SSS grade Dungeons for all Azaroth knew!

In the end, he was just fodder… but he wasn't…

Azaroth pushed himself out of the wall and staggered to his feet, If he was truly fodder then how… why would he be given such a power? To transverse from different realities… to get stronger within dungeons… to view his Status… to Shop… and to… Wait a minute.

'To Shop!' Azaroth cried out inwardly.

Why did he forget that he could shop for a new weapon? His Monster Slayer was good after being reinforced but now he needed something for dealing with these Knights and he found the item shortly after opening the Shop interface.

[Undead Slayer (Warrior-Grade Item): This weapon is the best to use for dealing with Undead warriors, equipping this item grants +5 points to the Speed and Strength stats of the wielder (Buy 500 Gold)]

Azaroth hit Buy and quickly equipped the Warrior Grade Item on his other hand, it had a sleek black figure and white indents on the handle but it exhibited the same ghostly energy that these Knights as well as the Emperor seemed to have as well- the aura of the undead.

Moving toward the nearest Knight, Azaroth's gaze was focused on the sword that brimmed with energy- he needed to find a way to outmaneuver this Knight and head onto the next ones, he gripped not only his Monster slayer dagger but his Undead slayer dagger as well as he pushed more energy into his legs- it was not like he could buff himself up with Magic.

Azaroth appeared behind the Knight and stabbed forward only to get confronted by the Shield, it clanged loudly as both materials clashed against each other. The Knight victoriously brought down his sword, aiming to take Azaroth's life but to his surprise, Azaroth split into multiple after-images that flashed around the night and confused it.

'Ichigo's Flash Step,' Azaroth thought as he quickly appeared in front of the Knight, catching it off-guard.

Azaroth stabbed his Dagger into the shoulder of the Knight and drew it back, watching purple blood erupt from the wound.

'It actually works!' Azaroth thought.

Not like the System would give him faulty items but he had to make sure this worked the way he wanted.

The Knight slashed at Azaroth but he ducked and dodged the strike quickly before kicking the shield away with his feet leaving the Knight defenseless. The next moment Azaroth's Undead slayer connected with the Knight's head and Azaroth smashed it into the ground.

As Azaroth pulled back his blade, the Knight's body went limp and he locked eyes with the other Knights.

"Even if you suppress my magic, you won't be able to defeat me," Azaroth said.

Azaroth stared at the bodies of the Fallen Knights, one of his arms were gone and blood stained the ground but he didn't feel any pain right now… Not when he finally saw the Emperor actually move.

The Emperor waved it's right hand toward the Knights and they burnt down in wisps of crimson flames, along with their gear.

Azaroth smiled seeing that his magic was back and he quickly used his Restoration magic on himself… Losing his hand was a mistake but he was not going to repeat it, he wasn't going to let his guard down anymore.

Grabbing the Undead Slayer from the ground and keeping the Monster Slayer in his inventory, Azaroth's eyes locked with the Undead Emperor…

Unlike the others that had their faces engulfed by some sort of armor, the Emperor didn't have such- it had a face, an emotionless one but Azaroth felt like something unexpected would happen in moments and it did-

The Emperor smiled, it's grin growing to shit-eating proportions and golden bolts of lightning surrounded it's entire figure.

Azaroth was on guard as his wings sprouted out once again and his facial figures became more defined… He was prepared to land a lot of Gold Flashes if it meant winning against this Emperor but it seemed that unexpected thing hadn't happened yet.

"So you made it this far, huh?" The Emperor asked and Azaroth actually took multiple steps back, his eyes confused, "You're surprised I can talk, right?"

"Yes," Azaroth replied, his surprise dying down, "So you're going to be my Opponent, huh?"

"And I can sense I'm far stronger than you," The Emperor said, "At least physically-wise, your skills although I can't fully perceive them seem to be very strong,"

The gust came once again, The Emperor's green cloak rising high into the air as it's crimson eyes locked onto Azaroth's figure.

"I am your final challenge before you meet the King," The Emperor said, "I will be the one to decide if you walk through that door or you die here- so if you want good advice, come at me with the intention of Killing me,"

Azaroth smiled as his eyes glowed.

"What else did you think I was coming at you with-?" Azaroth asked and entered a Combat stance, "I should be warning you that, after all like you said you can sense my skills are powerful,"

Azaroth immediately began a dash toward the Emperor, his legs being pumped with Demonic magic as he aimed to speed-blitz to the fool- something he achieved, appearing right in front of the Emperor before it could realize.

"Whether you like it or not, I am crossing through that door," Azaroth said as he punched the Emperor squarely on the face, "But you… die here,"

A shockwave vibrated the room as golden sparks of lightning appeared around Azaroth's fist.

'Gold Flash!'
