68 Chapter 68: Harry Potter - part 6

Things went well for Harry Potter in the end. After some 'break her heart and I break you' moments, Daniel Granger accepted their relationship.

'Cheers to Mrs. Granger!'

Harry thought at the end of the day. He had the impression that her handiwork with Daniel Granger had saved Hermione and him from a massive headache. While this all was happening, Sirius was just laughing internally. Harry could see it in his eyes. After the drama diminished, Sirrius saw himself talking. He had got tickets for the finals of the Quidditch World Cup, which was in two weeks, and was inviting the Grangers to it.

"It's the most 'wizard' event that one could ever expect to see."

Sirius said to the family. Unfortunately, the adults had a dentistry convention that they could not afford to miss, but Hermione was free and accepted the invitation. Back at home, and this was the definitive one that Sirius had cleaned and refurbished for them, Harry was mercilessly teased by the joint cooperation of his dogfather and Remus Lupin. But Harry, as if a lumos spell was casted inside his head, turned the teasing back to them.

"So, I'm fourteen and have a girlfriend. How about you, mutts?"

Harry said back to the adults with a smirk on his face. The duo of adults stopped laughing instantly and looked at each other. They then sighed and Sirius turned back to Harry.

"Ok. It's a draw!"

Sirius declared with a magnanimous look on his face. Now the three of them laughed together. The next day, when Ron came to his house to hang out, Sirius invited him and his family to the finals of the Quidditch World Cup, but the ginger boy said that his father had asked him to invite them and Hermione to the finals too. Arthur Weasley had gained some tickets from a colleague at work as a way to repay a favor. Sirius said that Hermione e had already accepted the invitation to go with them and the situation stood at that. That night, Harry asked how many more tickets he had, and then asked if he could invite some friends of his. Sirius asked who those friends were and Harry said that they are his teammates from the Gryffindor House team and from the 'Fangs and Claws' team, but that it would be six more people since the Weasley twins were already going with their family. Sirius agreed and Harry immediately went to write them a letter.

Angelina Johnson, Alicia Spinet and Katie Bell accepted Harry's invite. Captain Wood, who had graduated last school year, replied that he already had tickets of his own, but that he would pass to meet and talk to him during the finals. And from the two Hufflepuffs, both already had tickets too but thanked Harry the same way.

A week before the finals for the Quidditch World Cup, Harry was hanging with Hermione in her house, as Ron had other stuff to do, when their cuddling in the pool time was interrupted by a post owl. Grudgeling, the teen separated from each other and Hermione got out of the pool to receive the letter. She dried her hands and took the letter from the post owl and walked back to sit on a chair near the pool. She examined the envelope with caution, but then, she recognized the Hogwarts' Shield on the wax seal of the letter.

"It's from Hogwarts."

She said to Harry, who was still inside the pool but had gone to the border to wait for Hermione. The girl then frowned after she read the name for who the letter was addressed for.

"Mr. & Mrs. Granger. The letter is addressed to my parents."

Hermione said out loud for Harry to hear.

"Well, then you just have to let it aside for them to read later."

Harry said to Hermione, who put the letter down with some weight on top of it and walked back inside the pool. Harry saw that his girlfriend's mind was not there, with them, and asked her.

"What is it, Hermione?"

"The letter. I can't stop thinking of what it could have in its content."

Hermione replied to Harry. She and her parents had a very honest relationship and she had told almost everything that happened inside the school for them. Almost everything. She had not told them about the troll, or about Professor Quirrel, of course. But from the second year onward, she had told them everything. Harry looked at Hermione and a mischievous smile appeared on his face.

"I have a pretty good idea on how to take your mind out of the letter."

Harry said to Hermione, who looked at him in confusion. She knew herself well enough to know that it would be a difficult job. Harry then swimmed to her and hugged Hermione by her waist. He then started a making out section inside the pool with his girlfriend, who received Harry's advances very well. Minutes later, when the teens stopped a little to gather their breath back, Harry asked Hermione.

"So, did your head get out of the letter?"

Hermione just nodded with her head in confirmation to him and started a new makeout session. Later, when the teens were preparing their lunch, Jane Granger, Hermione's mother, arrived home, saying that she didn't have any patients for the afternoon so she decided to go home earlier. Hermione then handed her the letter. Jane Granger looked at it and then to her daughter in confusion. She knew that the only time that she received something that was written in parchment was when Hermione was at school. Hermione just shrugged.

"It's from Hogwarts and it is addressed to you and dad."

Hermione said. Jane then sat on a chair in the kitchen's table, opened the letter by breaching the wax seal and started to read the parchment. Five minutes later, she had read it three times to be sure that what she was reading was right. Jane Granger looked up from the letter and saw the teens were eating their lunch, and Harry had some sandwiches prepared for her too with a glass of juice. She put the letter down and thanked the boy for the consideration of preparing her lunch. Jane Granger then started to eat it while smiling and counting internally how much time would take for her over-curious daughter, Hermione, to ask what the letter was about. She was half through the second sandwich when Hermione, who was fidgeting the entire lunch and giving her side looks, couldn't hold it anymore.

"Mom, what did the letter say?"

Hermione asked her mother, who finished chewing and gave her daughter a smile.

"It was from Hogwarts, as you said.It was an announcement that Lord Ravenclaw is putting together a Parents and Teachers Association for the school. It is mainly to take care of some of the responsibilities that the defunct Board of Governors had. According to the rules that they made for it, each school year will have eight representatives on the PTA. Two from each house, and one for male students and one for the females."

Jane Granger said, explaining to her daughter what the letter was about. With the girl, and the boy, total attention, she continued.

"Using this criteria, a male and female student are chosen randomly from each school year and House before the year starts. Then, these student's guardians are sent a letter inviting them to participate in the Association this year. This year, between the students chosen, was your name, Hermione, so, your father and I are being invited to participate in it this year. The school wants our answer as soon as possible, since the first meeting is in two weeks."

Jane Granger said, and continued to eat her lunch. The teens were looking at her with wide open eyes.

"Wow."

Was Harry's smart reply.

"But, you are non-magicals!"

Hermione said. Instantly, she noticed that what she had said could be understood as a bad thing, and complemented it.

"I mean, it doesn't matter for me that my parents are non-magicals, I would not dare ask for better parents, but I said it in that way because the magical world normally has some bias towards non-magical people."

Hermione said. Jane Granger smiled at her daughter.

"Well, not Lord Ravenclaw."

Harry said after Hermione's tirade. Hermione turned to look at her boyfriend.

"Do you remember everything that he has done to the school, Hermione? He totally revamped the History and Non-Magical Studies classes. He wants the magical to learn more about the non-magical world."

Harry explained to her girlfriend.

"It makes sense, with the speed that technology is evolving, it would not be very much time until some inattentive wizard or witch gets caught in some video recording device and out the magical world to the non-magical one."

Jane Granger commented. The teens looked at her strangely, but after some time thinking about it, they had to agree with her.

"But how will you go to the meetings?"

Hermione asked her mother. She knew that wizards and witches could use the floo network, apparate to the place, or even take the knight bus or ride a broomstick, but her mother and father couldn't do anything of these things and she doubted that the meeting place would be accessible conveniently by car.

"The letter explained about it too. If the parents of the chosen students are non-magicals, the school will give them the ways to attend the meeting and go back home after them. Something named portkey."

Jane Granger said, explaining it to her daughter.

"Portkeys are enchanted items that can transport the users to a predetermined location. Sirius told me that the use of them is very restricted by the Government as it can transport people to other countries almost instantly. We used one last year to travel to Madrid and back, and one this year to travel to the United States and then to the Caribbean Islands and back."

Harry said, helping Jane Granger to understand what portkeys were. Jane smiled to that boy as a 'thanks' for the explanation.

"So, will you and dad accept?"

Hermione asked her mother.

"I don't know yet. We have to discuss it between us."

Jane Granger replied. Later that night, after Harry had gone back to his home and Hermione was in her room reading, Jane and Daniel Granger were discussing the letter in their home office turned library. The next day, they used Flash, the family's post owl, to send their answer back to the school. Harry had told Hermione that Sirius too had received a letter, but since Harry was not the randomly chosen male student from Gryffindor's fourth year, which was Neville Longbottom, his letter was just to explain what the PTA was and the rules about its creation and choice of members.

The next day, they received the visit of the Headmistress of Hogwarts, Minerva McGonagall. She was there to deliver to the Grangers two pins that had a big Hogwarts shield with words engraved under it that read 'Gryffindor - 4th year'. She explained that the pins were their identifications as members of the PTA for that year and their transport means to the school. Headmistress McGonagall then explained how it worked and how to activate them. The pins would take their users to a predetermined location inside school grounds and when they were ready, bring them back to the location that they were before. The couple of dentists were happy knowing that they would not need to travel for hours for the meetings and could be as quick back home.

The day for the finals of the Quidditch World Cup had come and Harry and his big group, after some much needed teasing from the trio of chasers about the new relationship between Hermione and him, grabbed, each, a part of a hula hoop. The thing was the portkey that would bring them to the finals place. After Sirius saw that everyone was ready, he activated the portkey and with a tug in his belly from behind, Harry found himself being transported through space to where the finals would take place.

With wobbly legs, they walked to the place where a plot had been prepared for them to assemble their barrack. Sirius quickly assembled it with a wave of his wand, and, after letting their stuff inside the barrack, the group of teens decided to explore the place together a little. During their exploration, they found some friends that joined them to explore more of the huge camping grounds.

The final match was amazing according to Harry and his friends' opinions. Both teams played well, but Ireland's National team was just too superior in skill to Bulgaria's National team. Even so, the final points difference was only one goal between the teams. Ireland was dominating the field and had opened a huge advantage in points over Bulgaria, but Viktor Krum, the Seeker for Bulgaria, had captured the snitch while using a very daring move. Even so, it was not enough and Ireland had won the Cup with a 170 to 160 score from Bulgaria.

The celebration was a wild one. Fireworks were being launched every couple of seconds at random places in the huge camping grounds and went through the night. It was one in the morning when Harry and his friends separated and decided to go to bed.
