141 Chapter 141: Tricking a Trickster

Odin's Palace, Asgard

June 1887

As the people in the room took in how terrifying a Basilisk could be, turning the mood in the room a little gloomy after the good news that they had, Odin decided to break it by announcing to them that he would be telling the other that their Queen was on her way to recovery.

"Well, I am sure that the people on the magic community have some good sense to keep the breeding of the Basilisks prohibited. Now, if you people excuse-me, I have some good news to deliver."

Odin said, not knowing how wrong he was about the magic community having 'good sense'.

"Just a moment, Lord Odin. Do you think that this is a wise decision?"

Erik asked the old god, who frowned at that.

"Listen here, young Erik. While I am grateful for your help in saving my wife's life, I don't want to hear from you what you think is wise for me to do or not."

Odin said heatedly to Erik.

"Then think about it, Lord Odin. What would happen if the person who ambushed the Queen got the news that she survived the attack and could identify him?"

Erik replied to the old god, not caring too much about the god's opinion on receiving counsel. His words froze Odin in place. He was so happy about his Queen's recovery that he didn't have taken into account what Erik had just said. And one thing that he would like to do a lot was to strangle the little shit with his bare hands. But for that, he needed the perpetrator to fall into a sense of false security.

"You are right, young Erik. We need the person that tried to assassinate my wife to think that he achieved it. And then, after my Queen awakes, we get its identity from her and catch him unprepared."

Odin said with a gleam of anticipation passing through his only eye.

"This is an order directly from me. Until the second-order, no one is to tell anyone that Frigga is doing well. Understood?"

Odin said again in his booming voice that was full of authority. The healers in the room and Galdun trembled at that and bowed their heads in unison.

""Yes, my Lord.""

They all replied in chorus. Odin then nodded his head, happy with their answers.

"Er… I hate to throw a wrench on your plans, Lord Odin, but you are forgetting a huge variable that could put all to an end."

Erik said while looking at the old god, who looked back at him.

"And what is it, young Erik?"

Odin asked. He had come to accept the 'councils' from the young wizard/mage/warrior, whatever he was.

"Your son, Thor."

Erik replied shortly, making Odin's only eye go wide at that in understanding. Thor was indeed a very hot-headed god that could easily go on a rampage due to his grief to the loss of his mother, but he too could put the plan in danger due to not knowing how to keep a secret for a long time. Inside his head, Odin was already formulating a plan of what to do with Thor.

"Well, I think my job here is finished, aunt. I better go home and calm down some distraught women."

Erik said and walked to the door of the room. Galdun, seeing that, walked together with him.

"I will accompany you back, Erik."

Galdun said to Erik who gave her a small nod with his head. But, as he was reaching for the door, Odin called him.

"Wait."

Odin said, making Erik and Galdun stop in their tracks. Erik then turned to Odin and waited for what more the old god had to say.

"Again, thank you for saving my wife, young Er-, no, Erik. If there is anything that I could do for you, don't be affraid of asking."

Odin said and asked Erik, who noticed the change in addressing and how Odin worded the phrase. He said 'I' and not 'Asgard', so if Erik would ask for something, it would be a personal thing for the king himself to do, and not the realm. Erik smiled at that and nodded his head in understanding.

"Again, no need to thank me, Lord Odin. As I had said, I did it as a favor to my aunt and because Queen Frigga is a dear friend of my wives."

Erik said again to Odin, who gave him a small smile and looked for a moment at Galdun.

"Then, at least, call me Odin when we are not dealing with official matters."

Odin said to Erik, who nodded his head in agreement. Erik then opened the door and exited the room together with Galdun, ignoring all the Asgardians who were looking at him with mixed feelings.

"Lord Thor, Lord Odin asked for your presence. Alone."

Erik heard one of the healers say to Thor, who was glaring at Erik after he walked out of the room. The god of lightning and strength nodded his head and immediately entered the room to talk with his father.

As Erik and Galdun reached the teleportation point in the castle, Erik went back home after ordering his aunt to go back home and rest.

Back at home, Erik had to calm down his wives and the other women first by saying that Frigga was out of danger before explaining everything that had happened together with Odin's idea to keep the Queen's recovery under the wraps until they could catch the perpetrator. Obviously, everyone agreed with keeping quiet about it while voicing their want for a piece of the shithead that thought it was a good idea to kill their friend. To calm them down, Erik decided that it was a good time to prepare some tea with a lot of snacks. And, as if having looked into the future for the possibility of sweets, Ophis materialized itself by Erik's side.

The next day, Erik and his wives got the news of Queen Frigga's death to an ambush made by an unknown attacker. A lot of pantheons and factions sent their feeling to Odin, the just fresh old widower.

Incredible enough, Thor had managed to keep himself in check during this time but if one would have a conversation with the god, one would notice that Thor, right now, was like a volcano ready to erupt inside a pressure pan. The god had this look in his eyes that said 'I will rip your throat out if you mess with me right now'.

Two weeks later, Erik and the girls got the news that Loki had been thoroughly trashed by the combined efforts of Odin and Thor. The trickster god had been pointed out by Frigga, who had woken up, as the person who had punched a hole in her back with a poisoned dagger while her bodyguards were fighting off some mindless people that had attacked. When asked about the reason for it, the trickster god just laughed and replied nonchalantly that he wanted to instill Odin to start a war. A war that would bring Ragnarok. After that, the god had its powers sealed by Odin and was thrown into the deepest and darkest Asgardian jail to wait for the decision of what would be done with him.

News of Frigga's recovery and Loki's treason followed by his imprisonment quickly spread through the world much to the happiness of Frigga's friends. They had been told by Selena that Frigga's death was a ruse to catch the perpetrator, but they were worried about her in the same way.

Since Frigga was still very much on resting orders after having woken up, Selena's Tea Party's next meeting had its location changed to Odin's Palace. It was something that Odin tried to but could not deny to his wife that wanted to meet her friends.

'What could go wrong? It is just some women meeting to have tea and talk, right?'

Odin thought to himself after agreeing to his wife's request. The old god didn't know how wrong he could be with that thought of his. When Frigga's guests started to arrive in the Palace, Odin's mouth went wide open with the identity of some of them, giving the old god the scare of his life. Amaterasu, Hestia, Hera, Hecate, Gabriel, Serafall. He couldn't even imagine that his wife was close friends with some of the most powerful women in the universe. But his mood turned bad when he saw Hella arriving at the Palace. Odin was going to order her imprisonment together with her father when Frigga threw the god King a stare that he could swear chilled his very soul as if daring him to do anything against her almost granddaughter. Unknown to Odin, Hella would not have come to this Tea Party if not by the insistence of her friends and mainly Frigga, that wanted her there to show everyone that their problem was with Loki, and not with his children. The goddess of death was, with reason, fearing for her freedom because of what her father had done. Gods were not known to be the most reasonable sort of people after all.

After everyone arrived, Frigga ordered the doors of her wing in the palace to be closed to anyone's access, and the 'party' began when the group had some privacy with a new member that was working as Frigga's temporary bodyguard while Galdun was pregnant. Her name was Sif, or Lady Sif, who was Thor's wife and Frigga's daughter-in-law. It took some time for the new addition to relax in the presence of all those powerful women. But maybe because they were exactly all women that she managed to relax and enjoy some of the snacks that were offered. Lady Sif had seen how all the women there cared about each other and were true friends that would never hurt the other. Even Hella was seen with other eyes by her after that.

That meeting of female powerhouses from all around the world quickly reached the ears of all pantheons and factions, which caused some problems with the Greeks, more specifically Zeus when he got wind that Calypso was not imprisoned on her island anymore. Fortunately, it only took a look from his wife, Hera, for the King of gods to shut up about Calypso when she got home from the Tea party. To say that he was shocked when Hera told him that Calypso had been freed from Ogygia more than six hundred years ago was an understatement. And he got even more shocked when he was told that Hestia, his older sister, had discovered about it on the same day.

It was during the next Olympus' Council meeting that Zeus touched the subject of Calypso again, but this time 'to free her from her imprisonment. Only officially, that is. He didn't want to admit that he and the other gods had forgotten about her and that someone, a.k.a. Erik Ravenclaw, had helped her escape centuries ago.
