1 Chapter 1

Gasping in breath, I woke up full of confusion. My last memories were drifting off to sleep in my bedroom in my two bedroom apartment in New York City. Now, however, everything seems to be very very wrong. I am in a room that I don't recognize. How do I know this? Duh. I woke up to an unfamiliar ceiling like some mc of a light novel.

Realizing that the situation is serious, I cautiously got up, and headed to the bathroom to freshen up before thinking about where I am. As I reached the bathroom, and stood before the mirror, my jaw dropped. Cobalt blue eyes, golden silver hair down to the middle of my back, and long pointy ears, I was clearly the spitting image of a High Elf from the light novels that I have been reading. Opening my mouth, and closing it, looking side to side and flexing, I confirmed that it was me in the mirror. Ripped body, athletic not roid rage build and a slightly feminine and yet massively handsome face were all reflected in the mirror before me. Sighing, I walked over to my bed and facepalmed. How in the hell am I supposed to live as a high elf in the real world? Yeah, I know it's the real world because it's a modern apartment and I already looked outside. To finally confirm things, I checked my phone that I found.

January 1st, 2023 huh? Slightly in the future, so I don't know what's going on in the world today, however, I do know that from my bank account that I never need to leave my apartment. I apparently am a multi-millionaire. Laughing in relief, first that I did was open my fridge to look for food, and luckily I found energy drinks, sandwich stuff and much more in the fridge and freezer. Cupboards were stocked too. Looks like I am set for a few weeks. Let's research this world..

So, from what I have gathered, this is identical to the Earth that I grew up in, just a few years in the future. No magic, no fantasy elements or sci-fi of any kind. Slightly nervous now, I wonder just how I am supposed to go out and live my life if I am the only elf or alien being in this world. Suddenly, at that moment, a voice echoed in my mind.

The pain.. oh my god the pain! I felt like my whole body was being impaled burned and frozen over and over again, thousands of times a second for what seemed like an eternity before I blacked out. When I woke up, foreign knowledge was floating in my mind, and I knew that my body and soul had been upgraded to be able to cultivate and practice magic. The knowledge on how to learn spells and cultivation techniques entered my mind. I apparently have to find these techniques in the world. The voice left me with a final gift. The ability to transform into a human until I canceled the form. This left me in total relief and I felt an immense weight come off of my shoulders. Now, to begin my search for cultivation and magic techniques!
