27 First mission

It has been one week since the dance with Felix, and I have been avoiding him like he is a dragon who is trying to eat me. Diana and I were in the snack room as Felix, Leo, and others had just arrived in the office. I didn't want to run into him so I made my escape here. Diana was leaning against the counter looking flushed, the refrigerator humming quietly in the corner, "do you want coffee?" she nodded without looking at me.

I walked over to the coffee maker and started filling it with water, listening to the sound of the water as it poured into the reservoir. I could hear Félix saying something to Liza, he brings life to the office chatting with everyone, joking, flirting. All the girls lit up when they saw him. Why won't they? He is so handsome after all.

I doubt he even remembers our dance together; I could feel my cheeks heating as the memory tried to resurface, shaking my head I busied myself.

As the water began to heat up, I opened the cabinet above the coffee maker and pulled out a bag of coffee beans. The rich aroma of the freshly ground beans filled the air as I poured them into the grinder and started to grind them down to a fine powder.

With the beans now ground, I opened the coffee maker and carefully poured them into the filter, the dark brown powder spilling out onto the paper. I double-checked the measurements of the water and the coffee grounds, making sure everything was just right.

As I hit the 'brew' button on the coffee maker, I leaned back against the counter, folding my arms across my chest. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, letting the scent of coffee wash over me, telling myself to forget the useless things and focus on the work ahead. It was a small moment of peace on an otherwise hectic day, and I savored it.

The sound of the coffee maker finishing up brought me back to reality, grabbing two cups from the cupboard. I poured the hot coffee into the cups, and the steam rose, enveloping my face in a cloud of warmth.

"Oh shit!" Diana said, her eyes widening as she saw something and hid behind the large counter, she was small enough that I couldn't see her. I turned to find Leo walking towards us. A smile threatened to break out I refrained myself. It was not the time to smile.

THE DAY AFTER THE PARTY

Diana came to the office not remembering what had happened after she was drunk, Leo was waiting for her as soon as he saw her, he made his way towards her, "Hello, princess." We all stood there waiting to see how she would react as she was not drunk now.

Diana stood there staring at him with a confused expression, "Who the hell are you? Go away." she said and made her way to us. Enzo was enjoying this too much as he shook with barely concealed laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" she asked Enzo,

"You don't remember what happened yesterday do you?" he asked taking his phone out of his pockets, he played a video of Diana sitting on the bar stool, as the Diana in the video hid her face and peered through her finger saying, "he is so handsome." Diana watched the whole video until she fainted in Leo's arms as he carried her, with a horrified look on her face.

"Do you remember now?" Leo asked her, he was peering over her shoulder and looking at the video as well. She gasped, turning to him, her face red as she ran away from the office.

PRESENT

Leo peered inside the room taking a look. "Are you looking for someone?" I asked him with a smile as I took a sip of my coffee.

"no one." he said taking a final look he was leaving when he stopped turning to me, "go on." I urged him to ask.

"Did you see Diana?"

"Nope." I was not going to give her away when I was also hiding away from someone. I guess he likes her, they both would be good for each other. but I doubt Diana will ever show him her face.

"Are you sure?" he asked as his eyes narrowed on the coffee cup that sat on the counter beside me. "Whose coffee is that then?"

"it's mine," I said with a shrug, "you know how much coffee I drink in a day; they have such small cups here, I should bring my own mug here." When he was still looking suspiciously, I pointed behind him squinting "is that Diana?" He turned looking to see if it was really her, before going he called out, "Don't drink too much or you'll get sick."

"How do you know each other?" I was startled when Diana sprang up and was in front of me.

"How about thank you Morana, you just saved me from being embarrassed." She has returned to her cold demeanor after that night. I wish she would drink every day. She stood there staring at me waiting for me to answer. Someone seems jealous.

"We are friends," I said and went to complete the work I had left.

I was with Alec doing research on a vampire who is rumored to kill almost 30 people in 15 days. he even killed many officers who went to capture him. They suspected he had gone rogue. He has been really hard to track down, I had teamed up with Alec a vampire, and Andrea a demon to track him down.

They had been searching for him for days and only had found a complaint of a vampire in one of the small villages, he was said to be lurking in an old shed, but when we arrived there, the shed had been burned down, and he was gone he had killed some of the villagers before he vanished. It is my first mission and I don't want to sabotage it.
