30 years ago...Amy Rice

Amy looked intently at Rudolph's eyes, she wasn't sure how he was going to take the news but she was going to say it either ways. She had no choice. She had made what seemed to be the most deadly mistake of her life.

Amy Rice wasn't from a very wealthy home. Her dad worked in a mechanic workshop just across the street. They lived In the rural part of city A. A small two bedroom apartment was all they could afford and they barely paid the rent. Her mum ran a small scale business, the profit was quite insignificant, but it was enough for a family of three to get by.

Her father had worked really hard to send her to high school and college, barely 2 years into college she had fallen in love with a boy in his final year Rudolph Esteban. He was very famous and handsome. He was one you'd describe as high school home coming king.

Amy had returned home for a short college vacation. Her father had notices a lot had changed in her. She wore less and went out more.

"Amy where do you think you're going dressed like a whore?"

"Dad!!! I'm going out" she responded with a stern look on her face. She knew her dad was a principled man and that whoever she was right now, wasn't her fathers's daughter. She had changed a lot, done stupid things.

Rudolph had changed her so much that she hadn't realised how far gone she was till she had the audacity to go out by 8:00 pm in a skimpy red gown which had her back exposed.

Mr Rice examined Amy looking at her from head to toe. The shock on his face was remarkable.

"I'm no longer a child father, I'm in college!!!"

Pahh!!! A resounding slap ran across Amy's face.

"Arrrgh" she screamed placing her hands on her red cheek.

Amy's mother frantically ran out of the kitchen. "What's going on here?"

She took a quick glance at Amy's attire.

" What in the world are you putting on?"

Amy's eyes was already teary eyed and angry. She couldn't believe what just happened.

Mr Rice rolled his hands into a tight fist as he was trying his best to suppress the rage he felt.

His own daugter. His only child was turning into something else right before his eyes and he couldn't do much to salvage the situation.

She was in her second year of Business school. Her grades were hitting rock bottom and she knew it.

She knew her relationship with Rudolph was slowly destroying her but then 'the heart wants what it wants'.

She dashed out of the house where Rudolph was already waiting for her with his power bike. He was putting on a black T-Shirt and a blue baggy Jeans torn at the knee area.

"What took you so long!? he asked slowly removing the stick of cigarette from the side of his mouth.

"Drive" was all she said

Rudolph knew something wasn't right given the way she walked out of the apartment. Perhaps her parents didn't approve of her going out this late. He decided to wait for a while before asking what happened.

They stopped at the front of the popular La Mario club in city A.

Amy was still putting up a sad face and was all red.

"Hey girl cheer up we are at a party not a funeral. Let's catch some fun" he said in a seductive low tone as he looked into her eyes dragging her close.

"Honey you need to be calm" Mrs Rice said softly taking her husbands hands and wrapping it around hers, she could understand why he was angry but she knew anger won't solve a thing. She was going to take a more subtle approach to get into her daughter's head.

"I'll talk to her tomorrow, and make her reason. She's not a child anymore, if you go on hitting her she'd only resent you"

"Yeah you've got a point" Mr Rice said calmly

He was just scared. He had invested so much on his only child to see her stray from the right path.

"Let's go to bed" Mrs Rice said as she stood up from the arm of the brown colored sofa in the living room. It was a two bedroom bungalow with three doors visible from the living room, one leading off into the kitchen, one door for each room.

The interior of the wall was painted blue with cheap paint it had an old fashioned cream colored curtains with a small dining spot at the side of the living room.

She grabbed her husbands arms as they both walked into their bedroom.

They both had their eyes opened for a while Random thoughts ran through their heads.

Back at the club.....

Amy loosened up in a whiff at the sound of Rudolphs voice. Rudolph was her obsession. She had loved him to a fault almost forgetting her identity and the sacrifices her parents had made to get her to this position but she just didn't care anymore. Rudolph, had introduced her to things she would never had done normally.

"Let's have a drink" he whispered in her ears giving out that smile that always melt her heart.

she smiled sheepishly as they both left the entrance of the club.
