Bang!

A single bullet flew from the window and directly enters the old man's temple making a huge mess as his blood and brain matters were splattered everywhere inside the room.

Everyone gaped in shock upon seeing their commander's head was blasted open right in front of their eyes.

They immediately drop to the ground and became on guard while watching their surroundings.

"This is shit! What should we do captain?" shouted one of the men inside the room.

Right now only four people are left inside the room. They all knew that their comrades are either dead or unconscious. But they are not sure of the latter as they could not check them for fear of the sniper shot which they did not know where it's coming from.

Kzzt…

'Release them…' the cold voice echoed from the radio.

Everyone inside the room was frozen stiff as they did not know what to do next.

'One…'

Bang!

From outside they heard a gunshot.

They knew that the person behind the radio is the one who shot, and his target is their men in the middle of the road.

"Did… did he just killed another of our soldiers?" the captain suddenly asked with confusion in his eyes.

It is clear that he is in a panic.

"Captain… we should… we should tell him that…" one of the women wanted to say something but she was suddenly cut off.

"No!... We… we should hold to our advantage." The captain said with a shaking voice.

"You… our men are dying out there!" one of the female soldiers retorted.

"The commander is right… we are soldiers. And as soldiers dying is a part of our duty."

"Shut up! The day we sold our selves to the syndicate is the day we stop becoming a soldier and was turned into mercenaries…"

The group began to argue, but then their voices stopped when they heard the voice again.

'Two…'

The women inside the room were immediately spooked as one of them suddenly ran towards the door. She was the one who acted like the victim a while ago. And this time, she wanted to escape this situation. Although she is a warrior, yet she would not fight a hopeless battle.

While running, she suddenly talked to the radio.

"We don't have them…"

A loud sound reverberated inside the room. As the captain suddenly stood up and shot the female soldier who is running away from the room.

The female soldier fell down on the ground and the radio in her hand was smashed on the ground.

"Stupid bitch!" the captain muttered.

But before he could react, he was hit by a bullet which penetrated from the back of his head and exited in one of his eyes.

Everyone inside the room is now shaking. The only male soldier is shaking while taking cover on the wall and the remaining female soldier is also on the ground.

She is only a part of their logistic and like the other female soldier, though she is a fighter, she would not face a losing battle.

Suddenly, from the darkness, a figure slowly materialized like it suddenly appears out of thin air.

Crunch! Crunch!

Stepping on the broken windows glasses on the ground, Xin Wei walks towards the remaining soldiers.

I could tell that the two are scared, but the man seems to be not giving up.

When he suddenly pointed his gun towards me, I knew that he is going to shot.

Bang!

One sound echoed in the air, but in truth, two gunshots were fired.

The man holding a handgun who is hiding on the side of the wall fell to the ground with a hole in his heart.

I look at the scared female soldier and when our eyes met, she seems to shiver in fear.

"I… I… surrender… Please… please spare me…" she said while a hint of sobbing could be heard from her voice.

She carefully takes out her guns and knives and puts them on the ground where she is lying down.

"Stand up and move to the side…" I said without pointing my gun at her.

I look at the female soldier on the ground and saw her wound. She was hit from behind and I could tell that the bullet barely missed her heart.

"She is one lucky woman…" I muttered.

Using some of my needles, I stabilized her condition by stopping her blood from flowing out.

"Grab her…" I commanded as the other female soldier helped her companion.

She laid her on the table and I began to operate on her wound. I just removed the bullet and then using my Qi I close up the wounds.

I only expended around 10 Qi points in healing that woman's wound. Meanwhile, the female soldier did not attack me while I was busy which means that she is not confident of defeating me. Well, she could not be blamed. According to the news, many super-powered individuals have already appeared in this world, and many people are afraid of them.

After I finished up, I was about to walk out when the female soldier stopped me.

"Wait… I… I might know where they are going." She said with a hint of guilt in her tone.

"You knew who those women are?"

The female soldier nodded her head.

"Actually, I… I was part of the intelligence gathering of our team. Bai Yunya… she… she is my childhood friend. I… I wanted to help her, but… but I myself am helpless." The woman said while lowering her eyes.

I was a bit skeptical at her words, but I could tell from her body reaction that she seems to be guilty of something.

"If… If… I helped then I might be the one to suffer. I'm sorry…" she said in a low voice.

"Bai Yunya might be going back to her family… I… I know the way…" she said as she takes out a small map from her pocket.

The female soldier's name is Feng Fendai. She is an intelligence officer under the mercenary outer command under the employment of the Blue Serpent Gang.

After she showed me the map and the path, I wanted to leave immediately. This is because the area that she pointed out is where my house was located before.

"Wait… can… can you take her with you?" Feng Fendai asked while pointing at the woman on the table.

I knitted my brow and did not know why this woman is asking a lot of things from me. I am their enemy, but why would she trust one of their soldiers to me?

"If… If she returns like this, then she would suffer more. Since the commander and the captain is dead, she is the next highest-ranking officer. If she came back, then… then she would be killed by… by Lin Ting or worst… she might be made into one of his playthings." She said while trying to implore me to take her with me.

"Why would I care about that?" I rejected her proposal coldly.

"If you are sure that she would suffer why not take her with you?"

"I… I'm leaving too… But I cannot take her with me. It's too dangerous… Please… Just this once…"

I look at the woman and then at the one lying on the bed. As I see it, the two seem to have some resemblance to each other. Though the one lying on the table seems to have shaved her hair bald and even her eyebrows are gone, she still has a slight semblance to the female soldier named Feng Fendai.

"Are you… sister?" I asked.

She was silent for a moment but then nodded as I could tell that her emotions are in turmoil.

"Why do you trust me? I killed your soldiers… I decimated your armies…" I asked while looking at her.

"You will attack when provoked… But you would never initiate. Plus you care for those weak women… from what I observe so far, I know that you are a good person…"

Hearing this, I feel that for some reason, I am not what she said me to be. I have killed people, though I know that they deserve it, still, my hands are bathed in their blood. So saying that I am a good person made me feel uncomfortable.

"Sigh… Where would you go?"

"I… I don't know… I guess I'll just try to survive on my own."

Hearing her words, I could tell that the mercenary group she belongs to would not treat her kindly after the failure of her group. As a woman, though she is a good and brave soldier, I could tell that she seems afraid of Lin Ting.

Upon thinking up to this point, my heart could not contain traces of anger. I really wanted to kill that guy, but it seems that he has gotten hold of a piece of power on his own. And I need to prepare myself for that.

The woman might be of help to me, seeing that she is also a former part of their team. I don't trust her yet, but there is a saying, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

"You… and your sister, come with me…" I said with a commanding voice.
