Hidden Fantasy

Hidden Fantasy- A Werewolf's Obsession... Aiden I trembled as I watched her leave me once again shattering my heart into a million pieces. You used to be my sunshine, the one I ignited from the inside for. Even if my thoughts simply moved your way for a little second, I used to get a rush of affection. I used to grin whenever I saw your face; I would yearn to dive into your eyes. I would have done everything you asked for and given you anything you want. My sadness is gruelling grief that comes in waves, robbing me of my appetite and sleep. It's a shard in my gut that never leaves, though the edges may mellow over time. It seems like death, much like grief, and it chokes my breath and short circuits my thoughts at quiet moments. What was once whole is now shattered; where there was once tranquillity, there is now emptiness, echoes of a love I gave my everything to. You take another step away from me with each passing day that you are not at my side, even if I urged you to exhibit some sense of compassion, affection, or love. You bring nothing except rage, distrust, and an averted stare. My only "crime" was not being able to handle your fury and the words you let slip out uncontrolled. I've always done my best for you and continue to do so today. As insufficient as you find me, this is my best; it's all that's left of a once proud and strong spirit - shards on the floor, afraid of being blown away by the next breeze. In my mind, there was only one thing that made sense right now. Would I ever be able to forget about her?...

Hidden Fantasy-A Werewolf's Obsession

Chapter 21-Alessia

My instincts kicked in at that moment. I rushed past everyone who was attempting to keep Noah away from me and dropped by his side.

"Can you hear me, Noah?" I inquired as I checked for a pulse. Fortunately, he was still breathing. Then I began pumping his chest in an attempt to wake him up, but no matter how hard I tried, he refused to wake up.

"Alessia…" Noah spoke in such hushed tones that I was surprised I could hear him.

"Don't say anything ok?" As tears streamed down my face, I murmured.

"CALL AN AMBULANCE RIGHT NOW!!" Everyone backed away and took out their phones as I screamed furiously. Rapidly I started searching through my bag and brought out some medical supplies. I started cleaning Noah's wounds and then poured ethanol on them, realizing that this would pain him, but I needed to make sure that nothing would be contaminated. One of the people crouched beside me as I proceeded to apply bandages and plasters to his wounds.

"An ambulance will arrive in a few minutes," a young woman replied, her face frightened.

"Thank you," I murmured, my gaze fixed on Noah's bandages for the time being.

"Alessia…Stay away ..." Noah muttered, pausing in the middle of a sentence. I realised what he was trying to express all of a sudden.

"Who did this to you, Noah?" As I finished his bandages, I yelled.

"Keep your distance from the..." Noah mumbled something.

"Who Noah?" My cheeks were flushed with rage.

Noah murmured, "Vampire," as a squad of paramedics pushed their way through the crowd with a gurney to deposit Noah on. When they saw Noah with all of his wounds bandaged, they were taken aback and looked at me in disbelief.

"Did you pull this off?" A lady inquired.

"Yes," I answered, hoping that this was a positive experience rather than a negative one.

"Place him in the ambulance and begin putting oxygen tanks and IV equipment in place."

As paramedics began to arrive and place Noah on a gurney and transport him away, the lady was roaring at her crew. My hair had come loose from aiding Noah, causing it to sweep all over my face in the slight breeze. As my body began to simmer down, I swept one hand through it. Finally, I took a deep exhale, knowing that Noah would be okay, but the word he said lingered in my mind.

The woman stopped me in my tracks as I was ready to proceed to the ambulance.

"Have you ever thought about a career in medicine?" As she began heading towards the ambulance, she inquired with a curious expression.

"No, I only learned it for safety reasons," I explained as we strolled along knowing that the only reason I learned it was because of what happened to mom.

"You should," she said, surprised, "because I've never seen someone do that type of work on a patient in such a short amount of time." I appreciated what she said, but I knew what I had to become, but Olivia's words resonated in my ears at that moment. "We make our own decisions."

I boarded the ambulance, where Noah lay helpless on the gurney. I needed to make sure I figured out who the Vampire was that had attacked him. I was at ease when they carried Noah into the surgical room. I remained outside for four hours waiting for the surgery to end, and then when the surgeon approached me and said he was stable, my heart leapt for joy. The doctor intervened just as I was about to see him.

"Ms Aldine, you're the main reason Mr Hiroto's operation was successful," the doctor stated emphatically, evidently impressed.

"I don't understand," I answered, stunned by what I'd just heard.

"If you hadn't done half the work for us, the operation would never have succeeded." Mr Hiroto was losing a lot of blood, and you saved his life by suturing him up," he continued as I stood motionless. The doctor suddenly handed me a card, which I held in my hand.

"If you are ever looking for a career in medicine call me," he said as he walked out of the room and into his office. I was both surprised and delighted as I stood there. Maybe medicine is the right path for me?

I eagerly entered Noah's room, which was surrounded by specialized machines and an oxygen mask on his mouth. In a stable condition, he lay on the bed. Slowly, I approached him, perplexed as to how this could have happened. I remained alongside him in a chair for hours until the nurse said it was time for me to leave. Unfortunately, I left him with a kiss on the forehead and began going out the entrance as I contacted my driver to come to pick me up. We drove home, as was checking my phone every few seconds for a message from Noah, but there was none.

As I stepped out the front door, the driver announced, "Ma'am, we've arrived."

"Thank you," I said, and he drove away. Unfortunately, I proceeded into the house, but as I was ready to head upstairs, I noticed the kitchen lights were left on. I stepped slowly into the kitchen to see Dad sitting at the counter, surrounded by hundreds of pages all over the floor and on each counter.

"Hey Dad," I said, hoping he wouldn't recall what had happened with Michael.

"Hey Alessia, come here," Dad said violently. I approached him cautiously, and when I saw the pages, I gasped. There were instructions on how to discover a witch on each page, as well as how to murder one.

"What's all this?" As I took up a page, I nervously inquired.

"Alessia, there was a massive earthquake several nights ago. I assumed it was natural at first, but then I observed the sky had become a red colour," Dad remarked as he began scribbling notes on a notepad.

"Dad, what does that mean?" As my heart began to race, I questioned him.

"This was the beginning of a witch's power." Their strength was reawakened by the earthquake. Dad yelled as he drained a cup of coffee from the table and smashed it to the ground causing me to jump, "We need to destroy her before she starts a war between all supernatural creatures."

"What makes Guardians so unique?" I inquired, trying to learn more about myself. Suddenly he grabbed my wrist tightly causing me to shriek.

"They only come once in a lifetime, Alessia." They are the world's rarest mythical creatures," Dad exclaimed as he pulled the page from my hands and began scribbling on his notepad. I looked around the kitchen and was taken aback by what I saw. The kitchen was a disaster. The sink and all the counters were overflowing with coffee cups. Dad abruptly urged me to leave, and I tentatively ascended the stairwell holding my hand, realising that the person was hunting for was his daughter.
