6 Chapter six

"Qing Chai." Han Lan spoke, "You've been cold to me ever since I woke up, actually you've been cold to everyone since I've seen it. Even cold to Zhang Wei, or even that child in Lan Lan palace."

"Master." Qing Chai replied, "It's best if you don't interfere, you can raise the child as you wish or let him be, he's been fine for the last five thousand years, just the way he is."

Qing Chai gripped the book, revealing his cold eyes, Han Lan sneered, "I thought you had gotten better, but you've gotten worse, haven't you?"

Qing Chai snarked, "I haven't improved, don't think too highly of me, leave me alone."

Qing Chai slammed the book down and walked away, entering the inner chamber and shutting it behind him, "Chai Chai, you lost your temper again?"

Han Lan could overhear them, (Ling Wang? That's right, Ling Wang is Qing Chai's father.)

"She looks too much like her." Qing Chai remarked, "Even the same name, I can't handle it the same way you do."

"Silly boy." Ling Wang snorted, "You just as I expected you to be, it's been five thousand years and you haven't changed for a long while. Pity, you can't tell her anything yet."

"I wouldn't want to." Qing Chai remarked, "It would only make things more complicated than they should be."

"Right." Ling Wang spoke, "If the matter wasn't complicated as it was, Master would never allow you to exist if she knew the truth."

Qing Chai raised a brow, "What truth?"

"Back then, Many older gods didn't think Master should've become Chief God, including the king of the celestial tribe, but his son's thoughts were different than anything else." Ling Wang explained, "Funny how Master misunderstood the whole matter, especially after you were born, my core would've been shattered hadn't been for Zhang Wei. Funny how a demon, can become my best friend, especially after what happened to Hua Mei."

Ling Wang dropped his robes, "Chai Chai, why are you blushing? We're father and son, you think I haven't seen your naked self when you were younger?"

Qing Chai coughed, "Fu Jin, why didn't you tell her about what happened, when the heavenly empress—"

"Don't worry about that." Ling Wang interjected, "Anything can happen for a reason. After all, it's not like you haven't seen something like this."

"Fu Jin." Qing Chai remarked, "You and Mu Chin have been together for such a long time, did he never ask you anything of importance?"

"We didn't have a wedding but merely tied the string of fates together." Ling Wang chuckled, "Marriage between immortals and fairies wasn't allowed back then if either of us had been caught—it wouldn't have ended well, for myself more than him. Besides, I for one, never hope your Mu chin remembers me fully otherwise, another terrible war will break out."
