Level five

Scott spent a few hours in the little forest around the starting area, farming the small beasts that spawn all over it. No useful items had been gained but he had been able to gain quite a few levels and unlocked a new skill for his stringed instrument talent tree. "Distortion overdrive- area of effect- all combatants in a cone infront of the user take resonated sound damage, slowing and placing a damage over time counter dealing 25 damage per second for 10 seconds".

Scott had begun to get and idea on how this class worked, after unlocking the first talent tree he noticed there were dozens more he could unlock. So far his abilities were meant to position the enemies and power up his allies. He could farm creeps but high level quests and dungeons he would need a group. He opened his in game map and saw he had to go north from the starting point to get to a better farming area where he would most likely find quests and other players to level with.

He checked his map one more time before leaving the starting zone and headed north. The closest town was to the north towards the icelands, there was a town there where he could go to a shoppe and sell some of the loot he had gained off the surplus of rats and small creatures he had killed for experience. " trash items but i can still get some currency for them. Maybe I can find another instrument and see what sort of abilities i unlock." Scott killed a couple small monsters he encountered along the way, none much stronger than level 3, basic wild boars and saber-cats.

He came to a point where the path split, he opened his map screen and noticed the fork on the map was dark and wouldn't reveal where either led. He knew most of the beginning players would take the left fork because there was a small town where you could re stock on items before making way to a large hunting area rich with low level monsters to grind experience from. The right leads to a large area full of high level creatures, no sanctuaries or villages, groups tend to go that way as a way to level faster and get better treasure drops. He wasn't in a group he was by himself and if he wanted to take that route to the rare drop hunting grounds he would need to meet some players. He took the left fork and equipped his mandolin, he strummed the strings and noticed his proficiency meter slowly rise with each strum. " I wonder what happens when i max out the proficiency with an instrument" scott thought to himself, right now he was only level seven with the mandolin, but every three or four strums he would gain a level.

After a half hour of walking down the path a larger robust village with many other players and npc's. He put his mandolin away and opted to use a racial skill that boosted his movement speed, "aura of the brown hair", it had a three minute cooldown and only lasted for five seconds but he was able to reach the entrance to the village before the buff wore off.

He looked around the area to see other players moving about the shops and coming and going in and out to fight monsters. A few players stopped to look at the weird rabbit and assumed it was an NPC at first, ignoring him completely, one player decided to see if maybe he held a quest. He was shocked to find the avatar had a player title under its name "Scotsvro22", " oh man! You're playing a hidden class! You even have a hidden race to go with it! You lucky devil!" The player, who's avatar was an orc, he was wearing beginner leather armor and carrying a large two-handed axe that was currently hanging magically from his back. His orc was bright green and his nameplate read "Hulksmash69". " what class is that? It just reads support on my info screen." Scott wasn't ready to really explain what the class was. " how about we team up and do some quests around here and i'll show you, but first is there a place that sells instruments?" Scott was hoping to find a shoppe that sold new instruments for him to unlock new spells. " what do you mean instruments?" The orc looked perplexed, " you know like musical instruments."

The orc thought about it for a moment, musical instruments are more or less just accessories and most players just sold them to the vendors, no one really payed any attention to who sold musical instruments. " maybe the general goods store? I mean the weapons merchants i don't believe do, neither do the armor, can i ask why?"

Scott thought for a moment, " i just like collecting them i guess." He casually walked on while sending a party invite to his new acquaintance.
