Encounter

A clear sunny skies, palm trees encircling the beach, and crystal clear water.

"...Kokoye Beach," Aldrich grinned widely. He took off his jacket, revealing his well built physique. Anyone who saw him would not expect him to actually just be 15 years old due to his height and physique.

His appearance garnered quite the attention from the female tourists. Some daring enough even openly gawked at him, staring intently at his body.

For these older women, he just gave them a slight smile. However his attention was not on them but to the beautiful scenery.

"Oh I'm gonna enjoy this trip..." He muttered before heading to the water.

The sun has started setting and the temperature started going down.

Holding a drink at one hand while staring at the moon being reflected on the crystal clear water of the sea was a sight to behold, Aldrich mused to himself.

This trip was a dream come true for him. His previous life was harsh to him, much like how it is for others. He was working while studying as a high school sophomore.

That changed after being transported in this world, his life turned upside down. It was all thanks to that black card he received. It contains infinite amount of money and he can spend it however he wanted without damaging the world economy.

He also has legal documents that seems fit for him or the body's previous owner. With those documents stating he was of legal age and his older appearance contrast to his actual age, he can travel without issue.

Despite the power he got with the two things he received, he wasn't that keen on being involved in the hidden affairs of the world. He just wanted to live life however he see fit and trying his best to survive the incoming events whether that be getting strong enough or other ways but not involving himself directly.

"Hopefully, nothing outrageous happens," He muttered as he went back to his cottage.

....

"Aaahhhh!"

Screams of fear and despair. People running around aimlessly in panic. Houses and buildings in rubble. Flames engulfing the whole town and monstrous beings roaming about.

"Graahhh!"

Aldrich hurriedly dodged an incoming attack from a former human turned into mindless zombies.

After dogding, he took out two daggers hidden beneath his clothes and stabbed through the zombie's head. He always carried hidden daggers. He bought it after arriving at Haiti.

*Thud!*

"...Why did I have to tempt Murphy," He clicked his tounge in annoyance before dashing off. "To think a small scale honkai eruption would occur as I'm on my way back."

Glancing around, he saw how majority of the population has turned into honkai zombies while the small number of survivors are being killed swiftly by the honkai zombies and honkai beasts.

*Swish!*

Jumping back, he stared at the sudden attack. Flying in a group, with white armor and pink lines running through them, it also had a pink halo - seraph class honkai beasts, archangels.

Seeing the group of honkai beasts, cold sweat ran down his forehead.

"I'm fucked..."

Despite his superior physical strength due to the essence, it was within average human limitations, not on par with superhuman strength of valkyries. Facing a true blue honkai beasts head on was near stupid and fatal since he does not possess any honkai powered weapons.

'Note to self, if I get out of this unscathed, I'll get those honkai powered weapons.'

*Swoosh! *Swoosh!* *Swoosh!*

The group of archangels swooped down towards him with their wings.

Aldrich hurriedly dodged by jumping back while keeping his eyes on the enemies. He didn't dare turn his back on them as they are faster and could easily kill him with one wrong move.

'...' He stared at the two regular daggers he had in his hands. He doubt it would damage the outer shell of these things but he had no choice.

He already noticed how there were no screaming anymore meaning all survivors were dead. He also saw the zombies and other honkai beasts coming over towards him.

*Bang!*

Just when he was about to risk it all and fight with his daggers, he heard a resounding gun shot. He then saw an archangel disappearing after a chunk of it was blown off.

"Are you okay?"

He turned towards where the voice came from and saw a beautiful white haired girl with clear blue eyes. In her hands were two pistols and the moon as the backdrop. She looked heroic at the moment.

*Bang!* *Bang!* *Bang!*

She continued firing and finally killing the group of archangels surrounding Aldrich. The girl then dropped down from the house's roof she was standing on and walked over to Aldrich.

"Thanks for the help," He said gratefully. He could finally let out a sigh of relief, temporarily.

"You're welcome," She grinned. "It's our oath to protect the weak."

'Weak...' He smiled wryly at that but it.was truly the case. In the face of honkai threats, his current strength is not enough. 'Then I need to get stronger.'

He steeled himself after the realization. He truly have been arrogant after getting the essence of the slayer. He thought having strength close to the peak of human limits were enough.

"I was blinded by my own arrogance..." He muttered.

"Hm? Did you say something?" The girl asked while keeping watch at their surroundings.

"Nothing but thanks once again."

His words caused her to tilt her head in slight confusion.

"Haha, don't mind me. How about we escape from here first?" He glanced at the numerous zombies approaching them.

"Yeah, let's go!"

So they started running and killing anything on their way.

Aldrich focused in killing as many zombies as possible without undermining their situation.

'Become my strength all of you and I promise to smack down the honkai!'

He remembered that he can gain strength from slained enemies but there's a catch. He cannot gain the strength instantly hut he would need to absorb the slained enemies strength slowly over time depending on their strength.

He also do not absorb the slained enemies' full strength but only small parts of it. So he cannot become strong that fast but gradually, with enough effort, he could.
