The Slime King

"It's fast.", Olivia said looking at the attacks. "Wait I've saw these movements before...", the stabs the Slime was making... "... is Leonard's movements."

Leo noticed but there was nothing to him to do beyond avoid the attacks. The King arm contracted and the boy started to use some pillars as cover. So he bagan to move muffled again. He needed a little more of Magic to restore and think about how overcome the fire immunity.

"The Slime isn't moving.", the heroine was looking at the battle. "He can see me but only wishes to battle Leonard."

Any kind of light would attract the monster. So he couldn't use Minor Healing or would reveal his location. He needed to counter his own movements too. He started to think that the rewars weren't enough for this kind of battle. Maybe he could just give up and call miss Olivia. No. If he wanted to be a hero and not a support this was the first step.

He showed up on the monsters back and started to run. The needle arm attack came but he threw himself on the floor and slided with his back on the ground. The distance closed and another needle came into his direction.

"Ripristinare.", the attack stopped at a perfect time.

He used the polearm to stand up and doing a spin the made a huge swing ending in a horizontal slash between the monsters arms and legs. So it split into two and losed form. As the parts started to try reunite. Leo started making a lot of stabs on them. Even tho they were progressing. So he threw them away from each other.

At this time he was ready to loose his guard but each part became a little Slime King. Only one arm were it could be a head and without legs. He noticed that the damage was going. Not so smoothly as he wished but yet it was going.

He looked at both and stayed sideways to both instead of focusing one. The attacks began and gladly they weren't coordinated at all. The two parts attacked at the same time and same point. They were thinking as one yet. So he went to one. As long he avoided that one's move he would avoid the other as well but he forgot they were Slimes.

"They aren't attacking me.", he stopped and cut the ligation they made with his evasion.

The one he was going to attack was nothing more than a normal slime now while the other was like a kid's size Slime King. He slayed the one close to him with a little swing and looked the other on its center.

"Slimes aren't usually this intelligent.", Olivia said after looking the Slime King reforming himself.

The Slime made his arm huge. Almost all of his liquid was there and he attacked one fallen pillar on his side.

"No.", Leonard said and started to run into the King direction.

When he saw the little pebbles inside the monster he gave a side step to a cover and heard the sound of stones hitting.

"It's using its own body to propel the pebbles.", Olivia was shocked. "Looks like a machine gun."

Leonard couldn't use his spell against so much targets at the same time. But he had yet to use another one. He left the cover and the pebbles started going against him again but they stopped on mid air breaking like they had hit a wall.

He closed the distance fastly and used a Minor Healing on himself before doing another slash agains the Slime King. This time was like the liquid made space for the weapon pass. So to test this theory Leonard started to make stabs and neither types of attacks were hitting. Then he found another cover and hid.

"It's molding the body to avoid the attacks? That's incredible.", the heroine put the Slimes a little above on her ranks after looking at that.

Leo was under pressure there but he couldn't stop smiling. The Slime could avoid the spear's attacks and was immune to his damage spells. Reverse Inertia was a sure fire but he didn't like the idea. This battle was supposed to make he understand it and improve while on it. So an idea came.

He started to run again agains the monster. Now the slime was taking turns with his arm and the pebbles. It didn't matter as both stopped on mid air. So a great horizontal slash was coming to the monster but instead of its liquid mold to avoid. All the creature exploded on the movement.

He clicked on the 'Secret Box' and a little birthday box started to appear on his hand.

"What happened on the last attack?", she said getting close.

"I used Telekinesis to increase the spear's blade."

"An attack that it didn't see coming was the most efficient.", she looked at the little box. "What is this?"

"A reward from the system."

"The monster you battled?", he nodded. "To battle against or with?"

"With but it's only a one time thing.", he complemented the details.

"Keep it to a necessity then.", she said.
