Chapter 16

Today we elected the class representative. I didn't participate cause I thought it would be a pain in the ass. Good thing too cause from what I heard, some people would have voted for me.

During the break, I sat down to a corner seat in the cafeteria next to Toru and Kyoka.

On the other side was Tenya, Ochaco and Izuku.

It seemed that All Might had told Izuku about me knowing his identity because out of nowhere, Izuku started talking to me. He also asked me a lot of things about my quirk not forgetting to complement my cool appearance. I didn't mind it though. With Izuku, Ochaco and Tenya followed, so I had someone to talk to besides Toru and Kyoka.

Izuku: Guys, don't you find it funny when we alter from serious hero classes to pretty normal ones like history or even normal school activities like class representative elections?

Ochaco: Ah I know what you mean Deku-kun!

Tenya: What are talking about? Even if it's a school for heroes, it's still a highschool! We can't forget about our normal education!

Aster: Somehow that's a really 'Tenya' thing to say.

Toru, Ochaco and Kyoka giggled at my words.

Toru: I also thought the same thing.

Tenya: Hey-

An alarm had cut him off.

Everyone started going to the exit. The people who were with me also got up but Toru noticed that I was still sitting there like nothing happened.

Toru: Aster, what are you doing? We have to leave.

I held her hand and gently pulled her to sit down.

Aster: Relax! It should be the media from this morning. Look over there.

I pointed at the road leading to the school where many reporters were gathered. She giggled as she noticed them.

Toru: So that was it. I got worried for a second.

Something felt wrong and I looked at the fallen gate. A fast shadow, almost unnoticeable came inside the yard. I quickly stood up and run outside to look for it.

Toru said something but I didn't hear her. Once I was outside I looked all around me but I couldn't find the shadow. Transforming to Excalibur, I climbed on top of the academy to get a better view.

Once I was on the roof I started to look around the yard. Sensing something coming at me, I turned and try to get out of the way. I wasn't quick enough and it stabbed me to my left arm.

It was something like a kunai with a thin handle and a hole in the middle of its blade. It was a throwing knife from set called Despair.

"There's only one person who uses that."

Aster: Ordis! Is he here? Is the Stalker here?

No answer came.

Aster: Ordi-

I got my answer when he appeared in front of me from a puff of smoke.

He had a futuristic albeit simple bodysuit and on his head was a helmet with a strange red-glowing pattern. A feeling of dread filled my body.

I summoned my Exalted Blade and got in a defensive stance. My nerves kept shooting danger signals and my instincts screamed at me to run.

"Nonononono!!! I can't do this! I'm not ready to take on the Stalker yet!"

Forgetting about the concept of fighting, I turned to flee. After talking a few steps I heard a barely audible 'woosh' sound from behind my back. My instinct took over and made me fall to my knees. Then a black and red scythe passed by the place where my head was half a second ago. Using the momentum I had, I slid two meters and resumed my run.

Not caring about what will happen, I jumped from the roof as far as I could. Before even reaching halfway down, I heard a chilling voice in my head.

Stalker: I am your reckoning!

A magnetic force started to affect my body and then I got yanked back towards the Stalker.

Being far away gave me time to act before I reached him. Not wanting to be killed, I slashed my blade while I was pulled towards him and an energy wave was shot.

The wave and I almost reached him at the same time. First he slashed at the wave but before he could slash again, he received a kick in the chest.

He was forced to take a few steps back to regain his balance. I on the other hand, used the force of the kick to jump down from the roof again.

As I approached the ground, I closed my eyes. Instead of feeling my body hitting the ground, I felt a slap on my butt and the momentum of the fall dissipated. Opening my eyes, I saw Toru, Izuku, Tenya and most importantly Ochaco. She was the one that broke my fall.

"What about the Stalker?"

I looked but he didn't follow me for some reason. Ochaco let me down and Toru ran to me.

Toru: Aster what happened? You're bleeding a lot!

With adrenaline still coursing through my body I hadn't realized that the throwing knife was still stabbed to my arm. I tried to remove it but Toru held my hand and spoke with a soft voice.

Toru: No, don't take it out. Let's go to Recovery Girl first.

She helped me stand up.

Toru: And then you're going to tell me what happened.

She said in a stern way.

Izuku and Tenya wanted to say something but hearing Toru like that, they decided to leave it for later.

Recovery girl healed my arm but I felt really weak after that. The knife's edge was crafted in a way that dealt grievous wounds so a lot of my energy was used up to heal me. Aizawa came and made everyone go outside the room but Toru stayed at my side. He looked at her and then at me as he sighed. Not bothering any more, he made me tell him what happened. Finally, after a really long lecture from both Aizawa and Recovery Girl, he warned Toru and me to not say anything to the others since that might make them panic. The fact that he targeted me specifically was also another reason to not say anything.

Feeling exhausted both mentality and physically, I returned to class with Toru and just waited for the lessons to finish.
