PROLOGUE [0]

[FINN POV]

After freeing death's son? Son of death? Death the kid? Yh.... definitely prefer Death the kid a lot better. Ok,ok,ok after freeing Death the kid from the Lich's control, beating the Lich once again and ensuring that the death worlds were safe due to Mr Fox becoming the ruler of the death worlds.

It ws time to say goodbye to every one.

"Finn and Jake I and the beings of the death worlds cannot thank you enough for saving my son and my husbands creations, please take this as a token of my appreciation." life stated.

Then robes made out of silk with golden accents floated from the sky and landed in front of me and Jake while a golden looking portal opened behind us.

" Please you have the chance to choose one, the opportunity to continue the cycle of reincarnating your soul like your predecessors before you or two, finally aching nirvana or eternal rest as your kind likes to call it."

Life said as she looked to Mr fox in confirmation as he just nods his head in agreement. i turn towards Jake who was looking at me conflicted as if he already knew what I was going to choose, I can't let him do that, I don't want him to do that if he's not doing it cause he want's too.

He may say that he's doing it cause he wants to do it but I know deep down he's probably doing it out of a sense of responsibility and guilt , probably cause he feels guilty for leaving me alone all these years , but that's not his fault , he couldn't know when he was going to die and no matter how much he would have tried to prevent it, it would have still caught up to him.

I also need to apologize to him for holding it against him for dying on me,I shouldn't have done that I should have understood that he didn't leave me alone on his own volition I understand now , huh….even as an old man it seems I still need some growing up to do.

Before Jake could speak his mind on his decision I interjected.

"Wait Jake I need to apologize man , *breath in**breath out*, look man… when you died I felt like I had lost a part of me, something in me just died when you passed on, I hated it….. for a long time I couldn't move on , I didn't move on to the point I just went through life , but I wasn't really living , all I could think about was when I would see you again, but when we did meet you were happy at peace….I'm sorry for disturbing your rest. Please do what YOU want to do you can't keep babysitting me forever I've got to leave the nest .Also it's ok now I've finally come to terms with your death even it was a bit too late"

I say the last part with an awkward chuckle.

Jake starts tearing up a bit but draws back the tears into his eyes to keep up his big brother macho facade.

I turn to the direction of Mr fox and life .

"I'll go with reincarnation at least one of us has go to keep the ball rolling"

"Very well , I wish you good luck in your new life Finn the human."

I turn to Jake who turns his back to me so I can't see him crying, I chuckle at that as I also feel the water works building up on my face.

" Have a good eternity man,the next time we meet lets have a bucket of fifty flavoured ice creams".

Those were the last words I told him before I ventured forth into the golden portal and into a new life as the time for an Adventure starts once again.

[JAKE POV]

He's gone.. into a new life,without me, he's all grown up now, even though I don't want to let him go , he's a grown up now just like he said. But you were wrong about one thing Finn, me wanting to follow you was not for your sake but for mine maybe it serves as my way of redemption for leaving you behind all those years,even if I couldn't control my death I fee like I at least owe you this much, even though you say I don't need to do that, I guess I'll just see it as my way of being there for you as a model and as your brother figure, even if your angry about what I'm about to do next I'm sure you'll understand cause its my responsibility as your big bro to keep you my buff baby brother safe…. cause that's what a brother does. I'm coming brother.

"MRS life? Maam can I-"

Before I can even say anything both of them grab me by my arms and yeet me into the portal. Well that was rude.

"Finn I'm coming for you buddy!!!"

[THIRD PERSON POV]

"I wonder what life is going to turn me into next."

Finn stated as he travels through a golden coloured wormhole. I hope I don't reincarnate as the child of one of my friends...I hope I haven't jinxed myself.

Then there was the sound of a….. scream? It sounds like? Jake's scream!!

Speak of the devil, Jake comes from above of Finn as he falls on top of him which disorients Finn for about some seconds until he regains his bearings.

"Jake what are you doing here"

Finn asks with unmasked rage and a not so genuine smile that sends shivers to Jake's spine but he stands his ground.

" I decided to reincarnate too man and before you go on about how ""you're a grown up and that I don't need to babysit you anymore"" let me just say this not matter how angry or annoying you get at me you can't get rid of me cause your stuck with me boi"

Finn pauses and just starts laughing for a while with a bit of tears coming out his eye.

"*Sigh* you're really stubborn you know that."

Finn says with a chuckle.then grins.

"I know"

Jake responds with

Jake smiles with a grin matching Finn's own.

"Aww yeahhhhhhhh!!!!"

They both say simultaneously.

And they fist bump as they pass on to live their next lives to the fullest, cause just like their predecessors they too couldn't break the cycle of reincarnation for how can one live with only half of himself , for they were separated from each other by death but now they are together again. Yes Finn and Jake are together again.
