The Beginning

Blink... Blink...

I slowly opened my eyes, feeling the warmth of the sunlight on my face and the soft grass beneath me.

Wait, grass?! I should be in my room!

I quickly sat up, rubbing my eyes in disbelief as I looked around at the vibrant meadow surrounding me. There were even Lavender flowers swaying in the gentle breeze.

"What the... Where am I?"

I muttered to myself, feeling my heart rate accelerate as I tried to make sense of my surroundings.

Krank... Krank...

Suddenly, the sound of Raven's croaks pierced the peaceful ambiance, causing me to jump in surprise.

I turned my gaze to where the sound was coming from and saw a majestic bird perched on a nearby tree branch, its jet-black feathers glistening in the sun.

"..."

Looking at the bird, I noticed that its size was unusually large for a raven, almost as if it was the size of an eagle.

Krank... Krank...

The bird croaked again, spreading its wings wide as if trying to intimidate me.

Well... It was definitely working!

"What the hell is this? Where is my computer?"

I exclaimed, taking a dozen steps backward, trying to put some distance between me and the bird.

All the while, the raven stared at me with its beady eyes which seemed to be as black as obsidian.

Thud...

Walking too fast in my panicked state, I suddenly tripped over something and tumbled to the ground, my back absorbing the impact of the fall.

"Shit..."

Feeling the pain in my spine, I groaned and slowly sat up, surveying what I had stumbled over.

To my surprise, I saw a skeleton or rather a skull and a few bones scattered around, half-buried in the grass.

"What the hell!"

I instantly jerked back, my eyes widening in shock and disbelief. It was the bones of a human child!

Who could've done such a thing?!

Instinctively, I reached for my phone in my pocket, only to realize it wasn't there or rather I was wearing different clothes.

Krank...

Suddenly, another croak from the Raven brought me back to my senses.

With deliberate and slow movements, the bird hopped off its perch, its enormous wings rustling against the gentle breeze. It hopped along the ground, taking measured steps toward the scattered bones and me.

"Get away!"

I tried to scare away the creature with my voice, but the raven didn't seem to be intimidated one bit.

Instead, it continued hopping toward me, forcing me to scoot backward on my butt.

As I backed away, the Raven stopped next to the bones, and with its sharp beak, it picked up something within the eye socket of the skull.

Although I was some distance away, I could see the object it held in a beak...

It was an eyeball!

The realization made me nauseous, and I retched uncontrollably, but I couldn't tear my eyes off the Raven.

I watched as it devoured the eyeball with a sickening crunch, savoring every moment of its gruesome feast.

Unknowingly, I began to see the Raven in a different light.

To me, it was no longer just a bird, but a real threat.

Slowly, I got up to my feet, backing away as I kept an eye on the Raven, which was still feasting on its meal.

At this point, I didn't care where I ended up, as long as I could get away from that terrifying bird.

Krank...

However, suddenly, the Raven stopped in mid-chew and turned its head towards me. Its dark eyes seemed to stare right through me, sending shivers down my spine.

"Damn..."

I muttered under my breath, turning and sprinting as fast as I could in the opposite direction.

As I ran, I stumbled and fell, scraping my knees badly on the rough ground, but the fear and the adrenaline kept me going.

For a moment, I thought that the Raven was gone, but then I heard its wings flapping, and its guttural croak echoed in the stillness.

Krank...

At the last second, I turned my head to look back and saw the Raven swooping down toward me with its beak open wide.

By some miracle, I managed to duck just in time, and the Raven flew past me with a loud swish of its wings.

"Shit!"

I could see Raven circling around for another attack, and I knew that I had to think fast if I wanted to survive.

I needed to take cover!

Looking around, I noticed a couple of trees in the distance, but they were too far away for me to reach in time.

Whoosh...

I didn't have any more time to think, because the Raven was closing in on me again. In a split-second decision, I lunged for the nearby boulder and rolled behind it just as the Raven swooped down to attack.

Pluck...

The piercing sound of Raven's razor-sharp claws mercilessly tearing through my flesh sent shivers down my spine, causing an involuntary flinch. It took only a fleeting moment before the searing pain surged from the wound on my back.

"Ahhhh..."

With tears streaming down, I realized that I had been struck, and the Raven had left

deep, gaping gashes, etching their mark upon my back.

Wriggling in pain, I tried to stand up, but my body wouldn't cooperate.

The shock and pain were too much for my body to handle, and I fell back to the ground.

Although the Raven couldn't get to me while I was behind the boulder, I knew that it wouldn't give up until it had finished its meal.

At worst it could just land on the ground and attack me on the ground.

"..."

Looking at the obsidian bird circling above, I felt an overwhelming sense of anger wash over me.

"I will not be defeated by a bird!"

Gritting my teeth, I scanned the area for anything that could be used as a weapon and my eyes landed on a sharp rock, lying just a few feet away from me.

With quick movements, I crawled to the rock and picked it up tightly in my hand.

'Now all I need to do is wait...'

I leaned against the boulder, closing my eyes and steadying my breathing.

"Come on, you damn bird..."
