Otherworldly

Silence was at the breakfast table and no one dared to speak to stop the headstrong daughter's opposition against their father. Their Mother stayed silent also not seeing a reason to tell her daughters to step back, they were her first borns and deserved a seat at the table with decisions being made. However her husband fought her on that and she had to shut her mouth in response to his wishes.

'Even though I'm just a baby in the room, why do I feel targeted as well in this conversation?' Ray questioned himself as he could see to his left his Father's aura as his magi poured out of his pours at the level of disrespect his daughters had just brought forth to the table.

"Opal" spoke Ray's mother as Ray looked up at her face which was grim rather than her usual bubbly personality. "Take Ray to his room and let him play amongst himself, also send Viola, Lance, Ash and Xion to their classes. I'll check on them soon after the discussion with my two eldest" As if just realising Ray noticed that Sythorn and Sythen were not present,

'I wonder why those two didn't come to breakfast? I thought it was customary for all members to sit at the dining table for all meals?' But that was a question for later as Ray was picked up by Opal and the other four simply followed her out.

"Do you think Rose and Macey will be fine?" Questioned Viola as Lance simply scoffed, "They disrespected father, it's only safe to assume they will be sent away"

'Are you really 12?! This kid already sounds like an old geezer.'

"Sent away?" Questioned Ash as Lance looked at his younger sibling with a look Ray couldn't exactly place, as Opal had been holding Ray over her shoulder so he could see his older siblings from behind.

"They will be sent to where Sythorn and Sythen are-" an unexpected whack upside the head from Viola had Lance cringe "You know it's true. Whenever one of us steps out of line we go there."

'Today is just jam packed with secrets isn't it?'

"Enough Lance, if Father catches you or even the twins when they return I don't think either of them will be pleased with your superior talking."

'Viola was quite wise in regards to matters like this, if she did have a disagreement, I'd see her the type to do things in a more cunning and scary fashion'.

"Whatever" Lance responded as Xion seemed to remain quiet as if he knew something.

'What are you hiding brother?'

Being place down in my room with some toys I simply crawled back to the shelf of books once more as I thought about Macey's words "You're letting murderers and thieves take treasures from our lands as a trade off of leaving our kingdom out of the cross fire of our neighbours. rather than aiding them and fighting these lower life forms back where they belong!"

'Murders and thieves, it sounded like war but why would our father engage in trading with them if that was all they were? If my memory serves me right he said "otherworldly's" was this a term of a dimensional being considering that they are inter dimensional trading with these individuals? If so than why isn't my father especially the powerful man he is with a very much powerful army exchanging an alliance with these neighbouring countries and their kingdoms to flush them out? Something doesn't seem to be adding up.'

Even though Ray was interested in the conversation from before he would have to withdraw from it as he focused on his foundation. A mere slip up in his converting stage could fuck up his circuitry veins in a split second.

Ray had it in his mind that once he was 5 he would surpass his old self in his past life and maybe find out what's really going on and how he was reborn in the first place and why?

'Focusing on my circuitry veins I've managed to make now 4 small cores that will grow over time, my fifth core will have to wait till I have enough magi to perform a formation lock around every core. I might with how smooth this is be able to combine my cores indefinitely as stated in one of the books on core refinement'.

Something else of interest was "core refinement" another reason why demons had one core as well was they were constantly merging their cores in association with ranks which would include from D - S.

This being said,

Core, rank D would be the starting core. Over a period of time this would store up magi and would compress other cores with each core created to achieve higher ranked cores.

So an C rank core would be next followed by a B, than A and finally S. There have been records of SS and SSS cores of monsters in the past but those are apparently more rare these days'

But compression of a core is damn difficult, just like bone hardening, for Ray's size and where he was at now it would mean the difference between life and death if he decided to risk compressing his 4 small cores right now into one, he might die. So for now he mainly just focused on slowly collecting magi and maybe he'd come back to those two topics again when more confident.

= The next day =

'The day was mostly silent, I hadn't seen my mother at all today which wasn't normal considering she'd at least pop in once if she could.'

But today just felt off to Ray, like everything was dull, even his nanny was silent as she changed his diaper which was another thing of embarrassment to Ray.

Walking around, Opal took Ray outside for a bit which was an interesting change considering Ray was heavily guarded most of the time. The air outside was crisp and smelled of the flowers that his Mother had planted herself in the royal garden. 'Funny to think demons enjoyed flowers, I always thought they would have man-eating plants everywhere- not that she didn't have one.' It was more just the fact that Ray had a clear bias of a demon and where it lived, that it shocked him that demons could be so human like.

It was outside as well, that Ray saw the town more clearly as the castle was rather far up and there was forest for miles before that town.

'It's breathtaking though' he thought as his nanny slowly walked back into the castle but while doing so he saw his mother and father talking in a heated discussion about something.
