CHAPTER 28: Midnight Visitor

The round moon quietly shone in the sky, surrounded by the sea of stars. With its humble light reaching the earth, as the lullaby played at midnight, putting everyone to sleep.

"Hah!" Lavinia gasped for air. She sat and looked around the place. It was dark, and she seemed to be alone. "Azrene..." she whispered. The girl promised her to stay in the room and patiently wait but it was getting late. She had already awakened for the second time and yet found no one inside her room other than herself.

'Did something happen to her?' Lavinia asked herself. She shrugged the thought and tried to be more optimistic about the situation.

Lavinia shivered when she felt the cold breeze coming from outside. "The window’s open," she muttered while hugging herself. "I closed it earlier," she added."Ah!" She screamed when her eyes darted on the silhouette of a man standing in front of the window. Lavinia couldn't see his face but his frame seemed familiar to her.
