Nyrissa replayed that moment several times, trying to see it from their point of view. At the time, she had been more concerned with interrupting their private time and wanting to make sure she respected that. She hadn't realized that they had taken it so negatively.

"Oh, my gosh," Nyrissa groaned in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry! That wasn't my intention at all! I just didn't want to intrude!"

"Intrude?" Ryan repeated. "Baby, I invited you to join us."

"No! Oh gosh, no! That wasn't it at all!" Nyrissa denied adamantly. "I thought you were just being polite. I wanted to make sure you both knew I wasn't trying to get between you both."

Nyrissa felt Quentin's chest rumble with what she thought was a furious growl. She looked up at him, worried he didn't believe her answer. The twinkling in his green eyes and the sultry, half-cocked smile was just as shocking as his husky chuckle.

Quentin pressed a small kiss to her nose. "Sugar, we love having you between us."
