"Amma, Chalu Inka. Na kadupu pelipothundi. [Mom, enough. My stomach will burst out soon.]" Laya said as Sita amma continued to keep feeding her.

"You are thin. You should eat more," Sita said as she continued to feed her.

"Rahul, say something na," Laya pleaded. He looked at Sita amma but she threw a glare at him.

"I suddenly remember I need to take a call. You should listen to, attaya (mother-in-law)," he said and ran away.

Sita laughed at his actions and turned her head towards Laya. "In fact, When I saw you I wanted to ask how are you but your neck and his actions show everything to me," Sita said with a smile.

"What do you mean, Amma?" Laya asked feeling confused.

Sita got up and went to her dresser. She took a handheld mirror and gave it to her. "Check yourself," Sita said. Laya took the mirror and checked her neck. Her neck was filled with hickeys and red marks.

Laya wanted to dig a hole and bury herself in it. How could Rahul do this to her? He wantedly did this. This must be when she was getting ready, he kissed her here and there. He must have left at that time. This man has no resistance.

"I won't let him touch me for a month," Laya said forgetting the fact that sita was here.

"Don't be. He is good." Sita said with a laugh.

"Maa…" she whined.

"Fine fine. Now eat," Sita said.

"I am really stuffed," Laya said.

"Shut up! Eat!" Sita said as she stuffed the whole food into her mouth. Laya almost couldn't breathe when she was done eating food.

"What happened?" Rahul asked when he came inside. He could see Laya was struggling.

"I am stuffed. Can't breathe," she said.

"Let's take a walk in the garden," he said. She complied. They both went to the garden for a walk.

"I am tired. I can't feel my legs. Let's go back," she said.

"Fine," he said.

"Wait, I will go and drink some water. Ask Abhinav for some nightwear for you." Laya said.

"Then what about you?" he asked.

"I am fine with saree," she said.

"I will ask Nandini, or Durga to give their clothes for you," he said. Before she could say something, he already left.

Laya shook her head and continued to walk to the kitchen. When she saw her peddananna (father's elder brother) and her Babai (father's younger brother) were talking she decided to leave. But when she heard her peddananna's words she stopped.

"Ramakrishna, I tolerated you all these years but not anymore. Last time, you tried to hurt her. Left with no choice, I got her married to a stranger and put her life at a stake. Now… she is here. And won't come after she left. If you dare to do anything to her. Trust me, I won't get a single penny from the inheritance," Raghuram said.

"Anna(brother), why would I do anything to her? She is just like my daughter to me," Ramakrishna said as if he was wronged.

"What?! Really?! Then why did you want Sita to get the property papers signed by Laya. If I haven't caught you at that time only God knows what you would have done to her. Now, she is out of our lives. Let her have some peace," Raghuram said.

"Anna, you say as if you care about her. Didn't you say even if she dies you won't care?" he reminded him.

"In her mother-in-law's family, I have a hope that she would be alive. But here… I don't even have that hope. Now, leave. Don't disturb her," Raghuram said.

Ramakrishna snorted at him before he left. They didn't notice that Laya was listening to them.

"Layaamma, why did you come back? I thought I made you hate us successfully. Why are you here and put your life at stake?" Raghuram said as he closed his eyes.

Laya felt tears threatening from her eyes. She never thought her peddananna was doing this for her. Wiping her tears, she went inside the kitchen. Raghuram was surprised to see Laya in the kitchen. He stared at her body, she became thin. His eyes filled with worry, was she still suffering?

He wanted to help her, but if he did that could put her in danger.

"I am here for water," Laya said noticing his gaze. Only then, Raghuram understands she misunderstood. When he was about to leave, he heard a crash. He swiftly turned around. He saw Laya was falling down. The water glass in her hand, fell down creating a shattering sound.

"Layaamma," he called out.

"Sharada! Arjun! Abhinav! Sita! Rahul! Durga!" he yelled. He held Laya in his arms and carried her to the hall.

"Everyone! Come here!" he yelled. Hearing his yells everyone came down only to see fainted Laya. Rahul rushed forward when he saw his wife fainted.

"Laya, Laya," he called out as he slapped her face. But she wasn't waking.

"Abhinav, call the doctor!" he said feeling worried.

"What happened!? Did you guys say something to her!?" Rahul asked feeling anxious. Everyone felt hurt when they heard his words but it's reasonable to say like this after the incident in the hospital.

"She is drinking water in the kitchen. So, I was leaving but suddenly, I heard a crash. I caught her on time before her body landed on the ground." he said.

Rahul said nothing. He just looked at them for once. He got up and made her sit on his lap.

"Someone get some water and sprinkle them on her face," he said. Sita said and went to the kitchen to get some water. Laya woke up when Sita sprinkled some water on her face.

"What happened to me?" Laya asked groggily.

"You lost consciousness," Rahul said.

"Oh," she said.

"Did anyone say mean things to you?" Rahul asked.

"No, I went to drink water, but suddenly my world turned dark," she said.

"Let's go to the hospital," he said.

"No, maybe because I am too tired," she said.

"Laya! You can't be like this. Just come with me silently," he said.

"Abhinav, you come with us too," he said.

"No need, Bava. I called the doctor. He would be here at any moment," Abhinav said. Rahul nodded.

After some time, the doctor came. The doctor was a female and was a family doctor for the Pasupuleti family.

"Who fainted?" she asked.

"Laya," Abhinav said.

"Kalyani aunty, i am fine," Laya said.

"What did you say?" Rahul asked as he narrowed his eyes at her.

"No…. no… I am not well," she said immediately. She slept in his lap, "I can't even sit. I am so weak," Laya started her million-dollar drama.

"Looks like she is fine, if not how could she mock you, Rahul," Kalyani laughed. Rahul threw a glare at her but she stuck her tongue at him. He sighed. "Aunty, just see what's wrong with this monkey," he asked helplessly.

Kalyani took her pulse and frowned.

"Did you feel like vomiting these days?" she asked Laya.

"Yeah, but it's fine. It only happens in the morning. But later it's fine," Laya said without thinking.

"Did you feel repulsed to any kind of certain food?" she asked.

"Yes, brinjal! (eggplant)" she said.

"I didn't ask you what you hate. I asked are you getting the feeling of throwing up to the food you eat?"

"Fish," she said.

"I think you need to visit the hospital," Kalyani said.

"What?" everyone was stunned.

"Will I die? Do I have any strange disease?" Laya asked forgetting that Rahul was getting mad at her words.

"Laya, can you stop spouting ill words," he said angrily.

"Now come with me," he said as he lifted her in his arms and carried them out.

"I can walk," she said with a pout.

"If you don't stop talking I will spank you in front of everyone," he threatened her in a low voice. She immediately shut her mouth. Abhinav followed them to the car. Soon, they reached the hospital. Abhinav waited for them while Rahul and Laya went to the doctor.

"Dr. Kalyani already informed us. Mrs. Laya please go with the nurse and draw blood," the doctor said.

Laya nodded and went with them. The results came out after one hour. They waited patiently.

In the Pasupuleti family, everyone was waiting anxiously too. But Kalyani was all smiling. "Kalyani, why are you laughing at my daughter's sickness?" Raghuram asked angrily as he couldn't hold anymore.

"When they come, you will be like me too," she said.

"I wonder why are you still a doctor when you are a mental patient," he sighed. Kalyani just snorted at him.

"I will tell my husband that his best friend is bullying me," Kalyani said.

"He would be happy for that," he said.

"Hmph!" Kalyani snorted.

"Doctor, how is she?" Rahul and Abhinav asked hurriedly.

"Congratulations," the doctor said making them confused.

"Why?" Rahul asked.

"She is pregnant," he said.

"Really!?" Abhinav jumped in joy. Rahul was stunned in his position.

"Brother-in-law," Abhinav nudged him only then he came out of his reverie.

"Go see akka," he pushed Rahul inside. While Abhinav called home.

"Amma, Prepare sweets," Abhinav said.

"Why?" Sita asked.

"Was that Abhinav?" he heard Kalyani's voice. Sita nodded her head at her.

"Abhinav, do we need to arrange sweets?" she asked.

"Yes, aunty," he said.

"Okay, bye. Come fast," Kalyani said.

"Okay… everyone. Get some sweets," Kalyani urged. They knew if they don't comply, she would wreak havoc.

"Did you hear that? I am going to be a mom," Laya said with a smile.

"Yes, I am becoming a father," he said. They hugged each other.

"I am sleepy," she said after some time.

"Let's go," he said.

By the time they reached home, it's already started turning dark.

"How are you? Everything okay?" Laya asked.

"Amma, I am fine," she said.

"Then what did the doctor say?" she asked.

"Okay, I will take the liberty and announce it on their behalf," Kalyani started.

"We are going to become parents!" Rahul said immediately without giving a chance to Kalyani.

"Don't you know! It's doctors duty to break news?" Kalyani accused.

"Aunty, don't you know… as a father I should be the one to announce," he argues.

"I have the right to do it. If not for me could you go to hospital!?" she pointed as she felt wronged.

"Aunty! I worked hard to become a father!" he said.

"I treated her, I drove for two minutes! Do you know how much mental stress i have to bear!" she pointed. They both forgot their age and fought like tom and jerry.

"Oh my god! Enough!" Laya yelled.

"I am tired. I need to sleep!" she said. With that, she was about to go upstairs.

"Wait," Durga yelled.

She ran into the kitchen and came after a few seconds. She made Rahul and Laya stand side by side.

She rotated her left hand in around them as she said, "Let all the evil eyes go blind. Especially Kalyani anti evil eye!" Durga said with a snort at her. Kalyani knows it was a joke but she played along.

"Spit on it, I will throw it out," Durga said.

Laya smiled and did as she was asked. Durga went out and threw the rock salt at a faraway place.

"Sita, serve food for them to eat. Sharada, Durga, Sita, and Kalyani you tell her how to take care of herself. I and Arjun will go out and buy some fruits for her," Raghuram said. He was literally dancing in his head.

"Rahul, she will run away always. Don't let her walk. Carry her when she wanted to climb the stairs," he said.

"Arjun, are you coming or not?" Raghuram said.

"Yeah, dad. Getting my purse," he said. Soon, they both went out feeling happy.

Everyone was happy about Laya's pregnancy but they couldn't express it. That's torture. But soon, they will become one.
