THE UNEXPECTED GUEST 1

The loud sound of lightning and thunder shook her from where she stood at the balcony in her room. There was going to be a heavy downpour and so she decided to head back into the room. After shutting the doors to the balcony, she wore a thick grey sweater on a loose transparent trouser.

She then left the room and arrived at the dining hall where her dinner had been served. Taking a sip of the ginger tea, Laine walked into the room. She seemed very worried about something and was tentative to speak.

“Is there a problem?” she took a spoonful of the salmon soup in her bowl, noticing how nervous she was.

“I’m afraid so, your father just arrived at the airport and your grandfather has gone to pick him up.” As soon as those words flew out of her mouth, Kirsi paused mid- air with fear written all over her face.
