Stalker

Mýa chuckled quietly after hearing Hailey's question. She looked at Zeke with a smirk on her face to see what Zeke would answer with. Would he say, 'My mom found out where she was playing and when we got here I found her, sent her a picture of herself, then scared her.' or would he say something like, "Yeah, I was stalking her a bit and sent her a picture of herself. She then attacked me for some reason."? She was biting her lip to hold back her laughter as she waited for his reply.

Zeke noticed her reaction, especially her biting her lip, he laughed to get rid of the awkwardness. "So my mom asked Mr. Caleb where the tournament was and we came here. When I first saw her I decided to scare her and joke around a bit. So I took a picture of her sitting with you guys, sent it to her, and then hid. When she went to look for me I scared her, that's how we met up." Zeke said.

Illa started laughing, soon the whole team was laughing except Mýa. She crossed her arms and shook her head at her friends. He scared the crap out of her! He basically admitted to stalking her and her friends laughed along with him! Way to sell her out guys. Zeke was standing beside her and noticed her sour expression, he caught her gaze and gave her a huge smile. She softened and smiled in return. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her in for a side hug.

Mýa laughed, she pushed him away. "Let go of me stalker!" She shouted and tried to get out of Zeke's grip.

Zeke tightened his grip on her waist. The rest of the team had stopped laughing by this point, they turned to look at Mýa and Zeke. Zeke wrapped both of his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him. Mýa continued to struggle, she finally stomped on his foot and managed to get away. She then stepped back and looked towards her teammates. All of the team was looking at them questionably. Illa and Hailey gave a little smile, they knew she liked him and always thought there was chemistry between the two. Illa decided to break the silence.

She wanted to help Mýa get rid of the awkward atmosphere but she also wanted to learn more. "So Zeke, you said that you sent Mýa a picture of herself and she has no social media. Does that mean you have her phone number?" She asked.

Zeke looked at her like she said something silly. "Of course, I have had her phone number for a while. I just don't text her much because I see her during Lunch, on the Bus, and at home sometimes because Riley likes seeing her and would rather go to her house to talk to her."

The girls all looked at each other in astonishment, except for Mýa who just looked at the ground sheepishly. It was a known fact to the whole team that Mýa didn't have social media or any guys phone number, or they thought so. Mýa had left out that part to Illa, Hailey, and Mabel when she was telling them bits about Zeke. Zeke looked at the team and Mýa confused, she just kept looking at the ground until Cassie cleared her throat.

"We still have another ten minutes or so, let's sit down and talk for a while before we have to practice. Zeke you are welcome to join us." She said while shooting Mýa a 'Girl, you have some stuff to tell us and can thank me later for saving your butt' look.

Mýa agreed gratefully and everyone sat back down. Zeke sat between Mýa and Willow and Mýa sat near him, Illa, Hailey. The group started talking and at one point while Zeke was busy talking to Willow and Mabel, Illa tapped Mýa's shoulder. "Alright, now you need to explain because no one forgot."

Mýa sigher then said to the girls near her in a quiet voice so Zeke wouldn't hear, "Fine, I never thought to tell you that because I was trying to get over my feelings and I never really thought of the fact that he was the first guy who has my number other than family. He asked me a week or two after we met and because he was my neighbor and I had his mom's number I didn't think I could turn him down. We don't text a whole lot and I never thought to tell you guys, I'm really sorry."

"Well I wish you told us, but we don't need to know every little detail in your life and for most people this isn't even a small deal. Next time tell us things involving your crush/cute neighbor please." Hailey said.

Mýa smiled and flushed a little. "Sure, thanks for forgiving me."

"No problem," Illas said, "Can we see your phone though."

"Sure..." Mýa agreed and handed her the phone.

Illa unlocked the phone and she started looking through it with Hailey and Cassie. They found her messaging app and opened it up. As Mýa watched they clicked on Zeke's contact and scrolled through the messages. "Goodness girl, these are more than a few messages." Hailey said.

Mýa looked at her phone, "I don't think that is a lot, but look at it in compare to your contacts. I talk to you guys a lot more and more frequently than him."

"Maybe but you guys have a lot more chemistry than you might think. I support you two." Illa said.

"I SHIP IT!" Cassie practically yelled all of a sudden. Zeke and the rest of the team turned to look at her but Zeke was interested in it the most. Unlike the whole softball team, he didn't know that Cassie was the random, crazy, loud girl on the team so everyone was more mildly amused and continued their conversations like normal.

He asked what happened. Illa and Hailey were laughing really hard and Mýa was giggling but she was more embarrassed, Cassie answered, "Oh nothing we were just talking about this crappy book I am reading. There are two teens who both like each other but neither have straight out admitted it and one is too blind and stupid to realize the other clearly likes them."
