Evan Mills

A great week had passed, and Jennifer Mills had already been discharged from the hospital. They did not pay a single centavo as Lee had already made sure that all the bills will be dealt with. Jennifer knew for the fact that her daughter is somewhat in a relationship with Jon, and when they got home, the first thing that she said to her was, "Is he your boyfriend?" Cathy didn't respond, as she did not know how to. Jon did not say he loves her, but his kiss made her feel the most beautiful girl in the world. She recalls the moment when he kissed her in the kitchen after speaking to his father on the phone, and when he kissed her again to say goodbye. The memories went so beautiful that she was not even aware that she was smiling. She bit her lip, as she had imagined how she felt when their lips locked together, her heart racing, his hands on her waist, and her hands on his shoulders. It was when her mother interrupted as she handed her over a glass of milk. "Catherine Mills!" "How long have you been with this guy? Did you guys kiss?" Cathy tried to explain, "Mom, he is a really nice guy. He seems to be old but he treats me so well, and he," she sat beside her mom on the sofa. "Did he touch you? I am warning you Catherine!" Cathy shook her head. "Of course not, he is a gentleman, he would never do such a thing. And I won't allow it." Her mother took a sip of milk and placed the glass on the table. She then turned to Cathy and held her hands. "I want you to be happy, my dear." she tried to keep her tears from falling. "Please remember that your heart is the most important thing to me," she raised her hand and pointed her finger at Cathy's chest. "I loved your father a lot, but look at where that love has taken me," she looked around her home. "From the day he left, there seems to be a lot missing. And you, my love, is the most precious gift that your father has given me." Jennifer buried Cathy's small face in her hands, "There is nothing more that a mother would want, than for her child to be truly happy. Please take care of your heart dear. Jonathan seems to be a good man, but we never know if he has a good family. You should be very careful." Cathy held her mother's hands," I will mom, I promise." The two smiled at each other and gave the other a warm and tight hug.

Evan Mills was in his condominium unit when the doorbell rang." Coming," he shouted, took his last sip of coffee from the ceramic grey mug and went rushing to the door. He opened it, and a woman came in, leaving the door open behind her. "Vivian, I have sent you.." Vivian turned, "I have come to let you know that your daughter is dating my Jonathan. I need you to tell her to leave him." Evan was confused, he is well aware that Vivian had dated Jon in the past, but that was before they met and had a relationship. A retired police officer, Evan has his way of trying to figure things out, he always wants to know the truth." My daughter? I haven't seen her in years, but I plan to go back." Vivian walked towards Evan, who had just closed the door and locked it. He touched his chest and started kissing him passionately. Evan was shocked, which made him push her away. "What are you doing?" he asked. "I told you that I plan to go back to Jennifer, they have reported a break in and they need to be safe. I need to take care of my family." She shrugged, and asked him seductively, "So you don't want me anymore?" Evan laughed a bit at her, "I loved you, Vivian, that was why I left my wife and my daughter. But the fact that you are in a hurry to run back to Jonathan only meant that you never loved me." Vivian walked away from him, went straight to the sofa and took a seat. "This is how it is gonna be," she flipped her hair and as Evan followed her, she said to him, "Tell your daughter to stop seeing Jon and I won't say a word." He quickly replied, "Is this a threat?" She got up and touched his face. "We both need the money, Evan. Jon is our only way. If your daughter gets in it, our plans are ruined." He shook his head, and she continued, "We get the money, you save your daughter's heart. I mean, how many women had dated Jon since? He only wants one thing. Your daughter is as innocent as a baby, you know that. It's a two way deal." As Evan was about to say something, she stopped him immediately by pressing a finger on his lips." Shhh" she said, she went back to the kitchen, and told him, “You have debts to pay, and I have a reputation to save. We need each other.” Vivian said, opened the door and left.
