Talking to Alex

As the adrenaline began to dissipate, Camryn looked at Alex, his face now streaked with tears and a mixture of relief and confusion. She could feel her own tears mingling with the cool water that dripped from her face. Trembling, she reached out and clasped his hand, offering silent support in this cavern of desolation. Her anger softened into a deep worry with tears in her eyes. "Did you ever think about your parents? Your friends? The people who care about you?" she pleaded, her voice choked with emotion.

Alex's gaze dropped to the ground, his hands trembling. "I couldn't see beyond my own pain,. I was blinded by despair. I... I didn't think about how it would impact anyone else."

Tears streamed down Camryn's face as she reached out to hold Alex's cold, trembling hand. "You have to understand, Alex. You mean so much to so many people. Your parents love you, and your friends would be devastated to lose you. And what about the grants that are sponsoring your education? How do you expect them to feel if you were to leave this world?" Camryn asked, her voice breaking, she felt his pain even though he didn't say what his actual problem is

The weight of her words hung in the air, heavy with the reality of the situation. Camryn's voice cracked with desperation as she continued, "Please, Alex, seek help. Talk to someone, anyone. You don't have to face this alone. there are a lot of people willing to help you but if you don't say no one would know how and when to help you."

Alex looked up at her, his eyes red with tears. "I didn't realize. I...I'm sorry, Camryn. I never meant to hurt anyone else. I just wanted the pain to stop."

Camryn squeezed his hand tightly. "I know, Alex. And I'm not blaming you. But you have to understand that there are people who care about you deeply. You're not alone in this."

They sat in silence for a few moments, the weight of the conversation heavy on both of them. Finally, Alex spoke up. "I'll...I'll try to seek help, Camryn. I promise I won't give up without a fight."

Camryn let out a sigh of relief and pulled him into a tight hug. "if you need anyone to talk to, I'm always here for you, Alex. you will get through whatever the problem is, okay." Camryn said patting his back

As they parted, Alex wiped the tears from his eyes and looked at her with a new determination. "Thank you, I...I didn't realize how much I needed to hear that."

Camryn smiled sadly at him. "Just promise me you'll talk to someone, Alex. Don't try to face this alone."

"I won't," he promised. "I'll do whatever it takes to get better."

Camryn nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. They still had a long road ahead of them, but she was willing to be there for him every step of the way.

"Can I see you tomorrow?" Camryn asked looking at him

"Sure!" Alex replied after listening to his heart

In that vulnerable moment, neither of them could fully comprehend the depth of the pain the other carried, but within the confines of this purple lake, they found solace. The once dreary colors of the lake seemed to transform once more, as if mirroring the hope that flickered within Alex's wounded souls.

Watching him leave, Camryn vowed to herself that she would never let Alex face his pain alone again. Just then, Camryn's phone emitted a notification sound from the depths of her pocket, grabbing her attention. She swiftly retrieved her phone and discovered a text message from Gwen, her roommate. The message invited her and the rest of their group to join Gwen for dinner at the renowned Rose's restaurant.

Without hesitation, Camryn decided to make her way towards the restaurant, despite her dress being damp due to the incident that just occurred. She summoned a cab, boarded it promptly, and directed the driver towards their destination. Excitement surged within Camryn as the cab glided smoothly through the streets, anticipating an enjoyable evening with her friends. Its been a while she hung out with them alone, though they don't have much on them, she hopes they have a great night

Upon arriving at the Rose's restaurant, Camryn alighted from the cab and skillfully navigated through the busy surroundings. Armed with the address provided by Gwen, she adeptly located Gwen, Lilly, and Rosa. A sense of familiarity and comfort washed over her as she spotted them amidst the bustling crowd, their cheerful presence brightening the ambiance of the restaurant.

Together, they embarked on an evening filled with laughter, conversations, and delectable culinary delights. Camryn's initial worries about her wet attire faded into the background as she engrossed herself in the delightful company of her friends.
