Jessica's day is tomorrow

Everything was great

The preparations, mom was having a blast preparing everything, school, my family

Kim initially kept asking me about what happened that day, and I kept telling him that it was nothing, before she stopped. At least, he wasn't doing anything to her

Aiden and I had actually gotten closer. When I found out he apologized to Kim the day after the incident, I couldn't stop laughing. I actually teased him, and even though he kept saying he was going to do something to me. He didn't

Kim invited him, and he accepted along with Noah and Justin. Oh-je was also definitely coming. All of us hung out decided to join our teams together for the optional activity of the project. It was nice and fun

"Can you guys stop?!" Kim complained again at the boys

Since we told them not to enter our room, they decided to bang our door instead

"How childish can they be?" she asked

"Beats me" I replied

Mom was still at work for the preparation. I thought she would be tired, but she's actually full of energy and excitement. Maybe because there was also enough time. Kim and Alex are sleeping over. This is not practically their house, sometimes they stay for days straight. Same with us. Although I've been holding my breath, I never saw him again. Jessica was with my mom at work. She didn't want either of them to be alone

"For goodness sake!" Kim and I said before we went to open the door

"Fine, we are out. You've finally succeeded. What now?" she asked them

Instead of answering, they just smirked and went back to their room

"Those pests!" she groaned

We decided to stay down, just in case the child in them wakes up again, but I guess it was already their bedtime

We talked about random things until we fell asleep

I seriously hate alarms, I decided as I covered my ears to the ringing, but my hand could only do little

I groaned as I woke up, and shut it up

I looked at the time. We were safe

I woke Kim, and the boys up to prepare

Just as we were done, Oh-je and the guys; Aiden, Noah, and Justin, arrived

"You don't look so bad for a peanut" Aiden said

I smiled at him

"Well, you look good for a psychopath"

He smiled

"Ah, I forgot. That's one trait of a psychopath. They are usually handsome" I told him and walked path him, feeling satisfied with myself

Although I told him he was handsome, I twined it with him being a psychopath. And for someone like him, it wouldn't sit well

We set out to go

Alex and Edward went together, Kim and Oh-je, Noah and Justin. I didn't want to drive, so I went with Aiden

Those who got there first waited for the rest to come, so we could enter together

As soon as we entered, I spotted my mom who had a man beside her who should be her boss

"Hi mom" I, we, went towards her

"Hi, sweetie. Hi, guys. You all look fabulous" she commented

She introduced us to her boss and vice versa. Seeing him in person made me approve of him more

"You guys should be a couple of the school. You look so good together. You're even wearing matching clothes" Lucas said talking to Aiden and I

We looked at each other, our clothes, then simultaneously

"Never"

"You're mistaken," we said

He chuckled

"Yeah, sure," he said, his tone full of disbelief

"I'll see you later, Salvatore. Good job" he told her

Although it was brief and almost causal, my eyes noted the way he held her waist

I raised my eyebrows at my mom making her look away with her cheeks a little red

"Something is definitely going on" Kim whispered to me

"Of course. If there isn't, I'm going to make it" I whispered back

She hit me lightly as I looked at her with a 'what did I do' expression. She shook her head as she and Oh-je left. Just like that everyone started to disperse

I walked to my mom and kept my eyes on her

"What?" she asked after failing to avoid my eyes

"What's going on, Salvatore?" I asked, using the same name he called her

"What do you mean?" she asked

"What the question says. That's not a normal employer to employee things you have between you too"

"What are you talking about?" she asked

"Well, I'm definite that he doesn't go around touching his employee's waist"

"I'm not understanding"

"Mom!" I said in exasperation

She sighed

"I don't know"

"Don't let that man stop you. You deserve the best"

"Even if he hasn't been married yet?"

"Well, you aren't going to marry an already married man, are you?"

"You know what I mean, Shannon," she said

"Does he know you're divorced?"

"Yes"

"And did his seem to be distant after?"

"No"

"Then what's wrong?"

She didn't answer

"Are we part of the reason you're hesitating?"

The look on her face gave away the answer

I laughed

"Mom, do you seriously think we'll be against you being happy? Even if Edward is, you can just disown him and make another one"

"Shannon!" she exclaimed

We laughed

"We should have dinner sometime," I told her, smiling then left

"Are you against mom remarrying?" I asked

"Mom wants to remarry?" he asked

"Maybe. What do you think?"

"She should only think of herself this time"

"Good. I told her to disown you if you object"

He looked at me with a frown

"You didn't," I said with a shrug, then left

"Shannon"

I turned

"Jessica" I called her

We hugged

"Congratulation," I told her

She smiled

"How many years now?"

"Eight"

"I'm older than it," I said

We laughed

"So, do you like it?" I asked her

"I love it. Susan did a wonderful job"

"Well, she is the best"

"That she is"

"I'll see you later. Have a blast" she said as she went to meet some other people

I looked at what she did. I couldn't find a word to describe it

"Exquisite, isn't it?" someone said

"That's the word I was looking for," I said with a smile

"Just like the woman herself"

The smile grew

"I mean to say this politely, but I apologize if it doesn't"

"Go on"

"The last thing for my mom right now is to fall for and depend on someone who just wants to play. I like you, but if you're not planning to be serious, don't mess with her"

"I'm not"

"You know she's divorced with children"

"And as far as I know, she has such lovely children," he said

"And it's okay with you?. A definite answer, please"

"Yes"

"Give her time, while showing her that you mean it. She has gone through a whole lot of mess"

"I'll make sure to note that"

"Good luck, Lucas," I told him and went to meet Kim, but I couldn't find her

It was over. People had gone back to their homes

"There you are," Kim said from behind me

"I've been looking for you"

"I could say the same thing to you," I told her

"I can't believe he came. He doesn't usually come"

"Who?" I asked her

"My dad," she said

I froze

"What's wrong?" she asked me

"Who did you say came?"

"My dad. I wonder why. Why do you ask?"

Mom. I have to get her out of here

I turned around only to stop again

The plates I was holding fell and broke

"What's wrong?" she asked, but I couldn't answer

I could only see two people standing and looking at each other. One's eyes filled with surprise, the other filled with anger, fear, and disbelief

"Mom," I said making the two pairs of eyes turn to me
