1 Chapter (1): A man with an umbrella 

The rain poured and cooled down the heat in her body. Her thin white dress was drenched and glued to her skin. She did not realize how she left her apartment, wandered in the streets, and then ended up here.

Dandan couldn't rub her eyes off the screens of the skyscraper. Her fiance was hand in hand with her best friend from a prestigious family. And all this betrayal got happened within two hours!

Her cellphone was ringing, it was Bella Yang. She didn't pick up the call as for being startled like she was swimming out of the world.

Every passing person was peeking at a despaired disheveled woman, perhaps, thinking that she had lost her sanity, but neither of them stopped by to offer her an umbrella.

Dandan closed her eyes, she wasn't even able to let her tears out, her legs were numb and her brain was blank. Recalling the memories of last month, currently, she had no remedy for her desultory heart.

Back then, on that morning inside the hotel, Li Qiang kissed her lips and left the bed, she opened her eyes, he looked so happy that they were going to get married next month.

"Darling, rest more and then go home with Anastasia, I'll be back tonight, don't eat without me."

He wished and grabbed his shirt off the chair. She pulled the blanket up to hide her blushing face. It was their first time, she was certain that he loved her despite his family's disagreement. She was an orphan girl with no family background so they preferred someone on their own level.

Wearing his clothes, he got back to her, "I love how you are shy. Call me if you need anything, my love."

She nodded, yet, it was disbelief that after many struggles and unexpected circumstances, they spent a night in a bed after a year of being engaged. Perhaps it was wrong but she didn't regret it because of her emotions for Qiang.

He left the room and she got to her feet, snatching her white nightgown and putting it on. She could still feel her burning cheeks. After washing her body up, she left the hotel and did her actual stuff such as work and university. But she had a dazed head and hazy vision, what was it for? They were at a party the night before and gone too far and yet, she couldn't get back to a proper state.

But when the night arrived, he didn't return and she called him back but he didn't answer, if she didn't know him, she would say that he had left her but he was hardworking. The CEO of SSI entertainment company would never leave his job half done.

That one night turned into a month when she eventually received a call from his manager, saying that he would come to see her tonight. As soon as the man hung up, she felt a twist in her stomach and went to the toilet. She threw up, leaning back, she couldn't stop her tears not to falling out. It was burning, she had missed him so much...

Opening her eyes, she pressed the pregnancy test in her fist. Frowning at how cruel, Li Qiang was two hours ago. He looked into her eyes emotionless and said, "We must end this."

She was devoured by a void of darkness, something shattered in her heart, and her head numbed. How could he come back after a month and say that they must break up? The marriage registration was tomorrow morning and he just said that? Couldn't he at least tell her before? What the reason was exactly?

"What?" She stammered, her hands shaking, and grabbed his sleeves, but his palm rested on hers and shoved it off his sleeve.

She was about to tell him that she had done a pregnancy test and it was positive. They were going to have a child and she couldn't face everyone like this! They were hiddenly engaged and wanted to make a life without others' interference. Now, everyone would think that she had hooked up with a random guy. They would call him quean, sleeping with men and making a child. Only Bella knew this and she always panicked, not knowing why was she always nervous.

"You can have this apartment as a gift from me."

Letting go of her hand, he turned his back on her, the man who used to say that he loved her unconditionally, despite her being an orphan and having no family to support her.

And after two hours, she saw his image here, where all people could see that he was engaged to Anastasia Chen. Her beautiful best friend with a rich family background also disappeared a month ago, after attending the party that her family held in that hotel.

"Li Qiang, and Anastasia Chen, you will repay what you did to me." She mumbled, her lips were shivering. If something could drive her mad and lose her sanity, it was being betrayed by them.

Now, she was left alone again, she hadn't the face to get back to University. Soon her belly would grow and the truth would be revealed.

She was only twenty years old and lost her job as a secretary in the SSI company, her life was utterly ruined. They ruined her life, and her trust, and she was left with nothing. How naive was she? How dim-wit to let these all happen?

She bowed her head, clenching her fists. The heat in her back was throbbing until reaching her soles.

"Dandan?"

The gentle warm voice came from behind. She didn't look back to see who he was, his voice could explain everything.

"I am pregnant, Mr. Qin Hu."

She stretched her hand out and desperately showed him the kit. She wasn't sure why would she tell him about this, but for now, he was the only one she knew a little bit, probably, the one who didn't care at all.

"I have his child."

"I know, Miss. Tian Dandan. I will take you home."

"I want to avenge."

Her frantic big brown eyes averted on him, he was the man who had been asking her to become his personal Secretary but she refused and went to SSI because of Li Qiang.

This man was the CEO of River company, a twenty-five years old rich independent man who had grown his career in the fashion industry despite his family being a giant in the entertainment industry. He was known for his economic intelligence and being influential.

Such a strong man, which his handsomeness who could slay every woman's heart was holding his umbrella for a random girl in the street on an ominous night.

"Come with me, Miss. Tian. You will catch a cold in this air. I am going to take you home."

Home? She hadn't one! She could not devastate and lower herself more than this and accept Li Qiang's charity.

"There is no place I can go." She murmured but he heard her weak voice.

Looking at his butler stated, "Victor, open the door for Miss. Tian."

The young butler hastily obeyed, feeling timid was visible in his complexion, possibly stunned why would his boss pick this pregnant woman who could trouble him.
