chapter 6

James felt bad for Christine but then he was already falling out of love for her. Ella will always make sure she says something bad about Christine anytime she's with James.

James never tried to find out if the allegations were true or not; he was blinded by the affection he had for Ella too.

After trying several times to talk to Christine, she still wouldn't allow him. He headed back home to have some rest. He was so surprised when he met Ella at his house.

"How did you…" Ella swiftly moved towards him and placed her lips on his before he could finish what he was about to say.

James was still bothered about Christine and tried to resist Ella this time but she had already overpowered him. He was too weak to do anything.

"Will you go and check her in the hospital? She's not talking to me." James left out in between the kiss but Ella did not seem too bothered. All she wanted was to kiss him still.

"Ella, please. Give me a break." James said after he revived himself from Ella but wanted more.

She lost her balance and made it look like James hit her. She fell and started crying, James was moved by her tears. He bent down to help up and then she grabbed him down there with her.

She tightened her grip with her both legs and they kissed each other hungry this time James couldn't resist they had sex till they were both tired and they slept off.

The next morning, Christine called James but he was not answering her calls. The doctor had already discharged her from the hospital and she called him so he could pick her up.

After several attempts and there was no response she booked a cab and headed back home.

"What?" Christine muttered. James and Ella were still lying down there on the floor both naked in the sitting room when she entered.

With a heavy heart and her weak body, she sat down and wept. She tried so hard to hold the tears back but it just wouldn't stop.

James heard her sniffing in her tears and he stood up immediately and tapped Ella too who woke up in shock.

James slowly moved towards Christine kneeling. "I am so sorry Christine, it's not what you think." He left with a grim expression.

"Yes, it is." Ella muttered behind and both Christine and James gasped at the same time.

"Ella, I trusted you. You are my best friend." Christine said with a very low voice with tears still rolling down her cheeks.

"Well as you can see I want James and he's mine now." Ella responded almost immediately and dressed up not quite long after and left.

After she left, Christine managed to stand up and she walked straight into her room even with James still pleading.

"You lied to me too, you whore!" James yelled and Christine who was about to shut the door lost her balance immediately.

"What did you say?" She said facing James.

"You lied to me!" James yelled again.

"You had a family but you ran away. You told me you were kidnapped!" James added and Christine couldn't believe what she just heard.

"Ella told you all these?" Christine asked softly but James did not respond. He stood up and walked into his room.

Christine walked back into her room and shut the door. She felt heartbroken and detached. But in her mind what Ella did with James was still a mistake and she believes they will still come back and apologize to her.

All through the night Christine couldn't sleep. She got up from her bed and walked straight into James's room and tapped him till he woke up.

"How could you do this to me? I love you." Christine let out softly.

"Please Christine, I need to sleep. I'm going to work tomorrow." James responded and Christine was more surprised.

"You lied to me and I will make sure you regret that!" James half yelled and Christine gasped with utmost shock.

All her life she never thought a day like this would ever happen. The next morning she tried to talk to James again but he had already left for work and he did not even touch the food she prepared for him.

After several thoughts about the whole situation she eventually made up her mind to go and see Ella and talk to her about it all and see if there will be any difference.

To her surprise when she got to Ella's apartment, she met James there having a great moment with her with laughter.

"Really!" She let out in shock.

"You said you were going to work!" She yelled and they both acted like she was not there nor did they even do as if they heard her talking.

"I'm off to work now." James eventually said and he stood up, kissed Ella and then left.

"Ella, what did I do to deserve all these from you? Why would you lie to James about me?" Christine said immediately after James left.

Ella sighed and offered a seat. Christine moved closer and then sat down.

"Truly I love you Christine and I am so sorry this is happening but please I need you to understand that I love James I can't let him go." Ella said this time with remorse but with full confidence.

"I am married to him and you are my friend Ella. This shouldn't be happening." Christine muttered.

"Well I am sorry about that and I appreciate everything you've done for me so far but please don't ever mention that I should leave James ever again!" Ella said and Christine couldn't believe what she just heard.

The room was already getting tense and Christine's intention was only to talk to Ella and not have any altercation with her at all.

"I still believe that you will come back to your senses and remember that I love you." Christine said and she left.

On her way back home she noticed that a car had been following her since she left Ella's house and it seemed like she recognised that car but she was too lost in thought to have a deep thought about it.

When she almost went to her own and checked her rearview, she noticed that the car was still trailing her; she then halted and alighted from the car.

The car halted too and the driver alighted too and walked towards her but she recognised the driver immediately and he was one of her dad's staff.

"Good afternoon ma'am." The driver said and stretched out his hand to give him a phone.

"What?" She asked with a grim expression.

"He said I should give it to you ma'am. The phone is connected to him and he's waiting for you to answer." The driver calmly responded and Christine grabbed the phone from his hand and walked down the street away from the driver.

She placed the phone on her ear and there was a grave silence at first. Then she heard her father's voice.

"Christine? Are you there?" She felt some compassion when she first heard his voice.

"Yes." She responded calmly.

"Oh my God." He said with a sigh of relief.

"Please come back…"

"Dad, I want you to stop trailing me and don't bother to ever call me again. Leave me alone. I'm done with you!" She yelled.

"What? Comeplee…" She hung up and furiously walked back to meet the driver.

"The next time you stalk or follow me around like this I will make you regret it." She warned with a stern face entered her car and then zoomed off.

She drove past her house and stopped a few meters away. She made sure the driver was not coming before she turned back and drove into James' apartment.

Before she alighted she had a deep thought about everything and then suddenly snapped. She picked up her phone and scrolled through and then placed it on her ear.

"Ella this will be the last time I will be warning you. You can do all you want but don't you ever lead my father to my doorstep again!" She spat out with anger and hung up even before Ella could respond.

She disembarked from the car and headed straight into the house and met Ann inside.

"Witc,." Ann said immediately she spotted her.

"Good afternoon ma'am what are you doing here?" She asked with a confused look on her face. She looked around and saw a lady standing beside Ann.

"Who is and what is she doing here?" She asked again with a grim expression.

"Well, this is Catherine, your new housemaid. I won't let you poison my son's food. She will cook and take care of my son now." Ann let out and stood up to leave.

"But why do you hate me so much? What have I done wrong?" Christine asked pitifully but Ann hissed and headed out.

"Get out!" Christine yelled at the maid immediately after Ann left.

"I'm sorry ma'am but I can't leave." The maid responded almost immediately.

"You can't do what?"

"I can't leave!" The maid let out again with full confidence.

Christine swiftly moved towards her and was about to hit her when Ann walked in back but it was too late Christine had already placed her hands on the maid.

"Good I have it all on tape now and I will send it to the authorities. This is abuse!" Ann said with an evil smirk on her face.

"Oh no please." Christine pleaded but it was too late.
