Chapter 10

Tracy got up from the bed, with the sheets wrapped around her. She went into the bathroom to take a quick shower before leaving.

Fifteen minutes later, she came out of the bathroom all freshened up.

She picked up her dress that was scattered around on the floor and was about putting them on, when Tony stood up from the bed and walked to her, wrapping his arms around her waist.

“Tony, I have to go before Richard gets back from work. I don’t want to have another argument with him.” She said as she tried to free herself from his hold.

Tony loosened his arms from her waist and went to put on his pants.

“Won’t you at least wait while I order something for us to eat before you leave.” He said.

“I can’t. Maybe some other time, okay?” she replied.

When she was fully dressed, done wearing her makeup and was about to fix her hair, Tony spoke up.

“I have something planned out for us, I just need to know if you’re up for it.”

“Yeah? And what’s the plan?” she asked turning her attention to him.

“I’ve planned out a vacation for the both of us. We’d travel all around the world. I wouldn’t want to travel without you, you know?”

“What?! Are you crazy! How do you expect me to come up with an excuse for being away that long?”

“I don’t know, maybe you’ll tell Richard you need a break and would be away to visit a relative or something.” He shrugged.

“Well, thank you Mister for coming up with such a clumsy excuse.”

“I was just giving a suggestion, you’re the genius in all this. I know you’d come up with something good, but I promise, if you go on this trip with me, you won’t regret it. Trust me.” He replied with a smirk.

Tracy thought about it for a moment, before replying

“Okay, I’ll think about it and see if I can come up with a really convincing excuse. Then, I’ll give you a call, to let you know about my decision.”

“That’s my girl. You better run along cos you don’t want Richard suspecting a thing.”

Tracy huffed irritably before walking up to Tony to give him a goodbye kiss and then left.

As Tracy drove home, she fell deep in thoughts.

'How do I try to convince Richard without him seeing through my lies?

Should I just go with the excuse of wanting to visit a relative, like Tony suggested?

No, he’ll know I’m lying and start having suspicions.'

She shook her head, not liking the idea of getting caught.

‘I’ll just have to come up with something else and I have to do it really fast, cos I wouldn’t want to lose out on the fun of touring round the world. Besides, Richard is always busy with his silly cases and doesn’t even have time for these sort of things.

I just have to think fast.’

And with these thoughts, Tracy and Emma’s paths crossed, which turned Emma’s life around.
