Goodbye

Val stood and watched Arnold's receding figure. He was walking as though he could fall down anytime.

Seeing him like this, Val could not help but feel sorry for him.

Somehow, she felt so guilty at having brought down the man she loved and wished that she could change anything about how she felt but wasn't it already late?

Was it really? Or was there still something she could do before he was completely gone?

Val stiffened. As if suddenly realizing whom she was about to lose. She hurriedly left to follow him to try and patch up things.

Arnold felt footsteps approaching and increased his pace towards their bedroom.

What was he going to do there? Cry himself to sleep? Pack up his clothes and leave?

Wasn't the bedroom where it had all begun? It definitely was!
