CHAPTER ONE

Today, I woke up immediately the alarm that I set yesterday rang. I quickly took my bath and checked up on my baby, Stephanie before dressing up for my job search. Stephanie was still sleeping when i finished dressing so I quietly bathe her and filled her bottle for the day. surprisingly, she didn't throw any tantrums today. I just finished my breakfast which was just an apple and i'm on my way to give Stephanie to my best friend Isabelle who is my neighbor. Isabelle has been my friend since the first day i moved into this apartment.

After exchanging pleasantries with her, I gently handed her my baby and added her small bag which contains food, water, napkins etc.

I took a cab to Carson.Inc to submit my official application. I remembered my past and nearly broke down. At just 21, I have a kid to take care of. I had no family, just a friend and I'm poor. I sometimes find it hard to eat. I wiped this thoughts immediately I got to Carson Inc. I entered and politely submitted my application to the receptionist who was so rude to me. I decided to ignore her because I wasn't really in the mood to argue that morning.

By 2pm on that monday, I had submitted about 8 applications to different places including a cafe shop. I did business and finance before I dropped out so I had a fair idea of what will be expected of me. I later got groceries and some baby stuff and started the journey home because I wasn't having enough money to pick a cab. Ever since I moved to new york, I've been doing several jobs for people just to get money for my bills and my baby. My baby Stephanie was the only reason why I never gave up. I've been a nanny, a cleaner at a local shop and I even worked at a library. But this time around, I wanted something more so I decided to risk it all and submit my CV at job openings.

I just hope I'll get a positive news soon.
