Chapter 65
Ryuu sank to his ass as the pain he'd been holding back burst through his body, hitting him full force. Stars danced in his vision, and he sucked the air that had left him in a rush back in roughly. He pressed shaking hands to his thigh, pushing the split flesh together for a moment. He could feel his system trying to heal it, but whatever the blade did was making it impossible. Blood gushed from it still, though it wasn't as much as it initially had been. Letting the pressure go as he moved his hands away had pain trying to steal his breath again.
Squeezing his eyes shut, he took a deep breath and pushed the pain away as much as he could again. He slowly made it back to his feet, sheer determination pushing him to get to Jayde and wrap her in his arms.
