20 Stupid Riddles

"So tell me what's the next riddle?" Lin Qin excitedly asked as she rolled her legs and sat straight in front of Chao Xing giving her a look full of curiosity.

"Don't know. Let's ask the book."

"Sure!"

With that Chao Xing grabbed the book from Lin Qin's hand and opened those pages where she usually talked with that book.

"What's the next riddle?"

As soon as she said that, some words started appearing in that book again.

[This riddle will be giving you the second word to understand]

As soon as those words appeared in the book Lin Qin got shocked.

"Wow! This book really does talk."

"See. I wasn't lying." With a straight face she told Lin Qin at which she scratched the back of her neck and gave her a shy smile.

Even though she believed Chao Xing's words after some time she wasn't sure at the start if Chao Xing was saying the truth or not.

"I know. I know."

Chao Xing averted her gaze from her towards the book, she sighed looking at it, "Somehow I feel like this book and riddle stuff is stupid."

She glared at the book as she said, "If you know the answers, why don't you just tell me? Why make all these stupid riddles?" Chao Xing was annoyed.

[Because you are stupid and I want you to gain more knowledge.]

Reading this Chao Xing got more angry, "You are the one who is stupid. Stupid book. Stupid world."

As soon as she said that she realised Lin Qin was still sitting there. Giving her an embarrassed smile she said, "Except you of course."

Lin Qin narrowed her eyes at her but didn't say anything.

Chao Xing looked down at the book again and there were already some words written on it.

[Do you want the riddle or not?]

Lin Qin stretched her body forward to read it too and seeing those words on the book she glanced at Chao Xing, "Don't be angry. Let's just get the next riddle."

Chao Xing nodded her head, "Okay tell!"

[Next riddle: I have two legs and one head. Opposite of you, what am I?]

"What does this mean now?" Frustratingly throwing the book on the side she further said, "I will never be able to answer all of these. They are messing with my head. Stupid riddles. I hate them."

"Don't lose hope. What is the riddle? Tell me?"

Giving her a look, Chao Xing opened the book again and chanted the riddle to her.

"Opposite to you?" Lin Qin thought a little before saying further, "Opposite to humans? Is it some animal?"

Chao Xing looked down at the book and before she could say the word animal she stopped a little when her mind hit the thought.

"What would happen if we gave the wrong answer?" Chao Xing asked.

[You have two chances. If you gave the answer wrong the first time it will be okay. You will still have the chance to answer it again but if the second time you answer it wrong you will be given a certain task to complete to be able to answer again.]

"I was right."

She glanced towards Lin Qin, "This means I have to be cautious when answering. We should think about it a little more."

"Yups!"

"Why don't we just pile up all the answers which come in our minds and then choose one out of them?"

"This is a good idea."

"Okay. So one head and two legs, it can be any animal? Or opposite to you can be I." Chao Xing put these two words forward.

"Animal or I? Which one should we go with?"

Chap Xing looked down at the book again and started to look at those words on the book again, "What if?"

She stopped a bit, a new thought just hit her mind but thinking that she might be wrong she stopped for a second.

"What?" Lin Qin pushed her a bit to say it and she finally decided to say.

"What if the answer is man?"

Lin Qin narrowed her eyes, "How so?"

"Well the riddle says the opposite to you. I am a woman so my opposite will be a man?"

"I think this makes more sense. Try this." Lin Qin suggested.

"Are you sure?"

Chao Xing wasn't sure if she had the right answer or not and she didn't want to give the wrong answer. Even if she had one more chance she just didn't want to waste it because it will just make more pressure on her then.

More the pressure will be, the tougher it will be for her to think of an answer.

Lin Qin nodded her head encouraging her and she finally decided to try.

She was just about to open the book when suddenly Fei Hong came and started yelling.

"Come on girls! It's time for your dinner. Let's go." She had her hands folded and like a polite lady she ordered them all.

"Perfect timings!" Chao Xing rolled her eyes at that.

In all that riddle thing she even forgot that she was sleepy and hungry. All she cared about at that time was the riddle and answers to go back to her home.

"Let's just come back after eating and then do this." Lin Qin suggested at which Chao Xing nodded her head.

Both of them stood up and went behind Fei Hong. She took them in a room where they had long carpets full of delicious food on it.

"Go on." Fei Hong motioned them to go and eat.

All of the girls started to sit beside the carpet which had food on it. There were many delicious dishes there.

Seeing those dishes Lin Qin and Chao Xing both forgot about their worries. Their mouths filled with water.

"These look so delicious. Looking at these I feel like I haven't eaten ever before in my life." Lin Qin moved towards Chao Xing a little as she said.

Both smiled and went towards the food.
