CHAPTER 98

BRRAAAGGH!

A particularly loud crack of thunder boomed outside, momentarily drowning out Ash's voice. 

Kairav flinched, his gaze darting towards the window where a jagged bolt of lightning momentarily illuminated the inky blackness of the night. 

'When and how had the weather changed so drastically that I didn't notice?'

Rain lashed against the windowpane, the wind howling a mournful tune. 

"Kairav?" Ash's voice, laced with concern, cut through the sound of the storm. 

"Yes," he rasped, his voice barely audible over the drumming of the rain. 

Kairav shook his head, willing himself to focus. "Yeah, I'm here," he muttered. "Who are they to her?"

"For now, I cannot say but I believe there's an interest."

"Just that?"

Asher raised a brow. 'What do you mean by just that? Their presence alone means you may have to choose between your business and a girl."
