Chapter 7

She looked up to see a pair of clear blue eyes. She recognized the person at once, it was the annoying man she met earlier before.

"Are you alright?" He asked concerned. Annie pushed him away and tried to regain her stance.

"How dare you hold me like that?, Are you nuts? Annie asked angrily without thinking. She saw the man as a scum bag who only liked to pursue married women.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you angry. You were about to fall and I caught you just in time." The man explained which made Annie feel embarrassed for her sudden outburst. 'She really had to control her anger'. Though the man's explanation was reasonable, Annie still couldn't forget what happened inside the hall a few hours ago.

"Sorry for my outburst but I'm fine now. You can leave." Annie said with a sharp tone. Although, she felt a bit comfortable and warm with the man around, she still couldn't forget the fact that she's a married woman with a little girl so she didn't have the right to look at other men.

The man smiled and said, "You don't have to be rude. I'm Daven."

"I know, you told me earlier." Annie said and a faint smile appeared on her face but she couldn't guess the reason for her smile.

"So, may I please know your name?"

"If I tell you my name, will you leave me alone?" Annie asked stubbornly. "If you want me to." Daven said with a smile which made Annie shiver inwardly.

"My name is Annie. Now leave." Annie said. "What a lovely name, it suits you well." He said and made a gesture to Annie "Well I must leave now since you don't want me to stay...." He continued saying and pulled out a yellow card from his shirt pocket.

"Here's my card incase you need a friend to talk to." Daven said and stretched the card to Annie. Subconsciously, Annie took the card from his hand which surprised him even her was surprised.

Daven smiled and said,

"It was nice to meet you Annie. Please take good care of yourself". He waved at her and walked to where he had parked his car which wasn't to far from where Annie had packed hers. He went into the car and drove off.

Annie looked at his car which gradually disappeared and stared at the card for a while. She didn't know if to keep it or throw it away but she later decided to keep the card and will also make sure Williams doesn't find out. She started the engine and drove off.
