Chapter 6

Lady Vera smiled and handed a tab over to Annie. Annie clicked on the tab and a video started playing. She watched the video and her expression changed gradually. The video ended and everywhere felt silent.

Annie dropped the tab on the table slowly and bowed her head embarrassed. She was so rational just now and didn't know what to do except apologise.

"Sorry for my outburst earlier. I wasn't thinking properly at all. I feel terrible for what I've done." Annie apologized without making eye contact. She tried her best not to do so because she was scared of how Mrs. Wilfred will look at her now.

"I understand, as a mother, it's natural for you to act like that in such a situation like this. I don't blame you." Mrs. Wilfred said calmly. "I'm also deeply sorry for my daughter's action. I couldn't believe it at first but after watching this video, I promise to talk to her once I get home." Annie said.

"It's okay. A lot of children make mistakes. it's a natural thing." Mrs. Wilfred said in a re-assuring tone which helped with Annie's mood a lot.

"There's still a fine to pay." Lady Monica said writing something on a book. "Of course. How much is it, I'll pay." Annie said calmly. Money wasn't a problem at the moment. They were rich, too rich if not mistaken.

" Someone will be assigned to give you the amount as soon as you leave." Mrs. Wilfred said with a smile. "I also wanted to ask about the boy, I hope his alright." Annie said a bit tense. The video showed how Annie had mercilessly beaten the poor boy up even blowing him hard on the face. That would have led to a loss of tooth or even more.

"Of course. You will also be given the parents numbers and address. Please, try to call or even visit them as soon as possible to clear all misunderstandings." Mrs. Wilfred said. Annie nodded and apologized once more before thanking her. She looked at Lady Vera who had a bitter expression on her face as if her plan had been spoiled and walked out of the room.

Annie left the office and after walking a few steps, the possessed looking girl came, gave her the card containing all the information needed and left quickly. Annie was about to say a thank you but didn't see the girl any more.

She walked out of the hall and stopped in front of her car. She kept thinking about the video, she looked at the card and saw the money wasn't too much. It was just a few dollars to be spent but she didn't know how to disclose it to Williams. 'He'l just have to listen to me' she thought.

She was about opening the door of her car when she felt a sharp pain in her head spreading fast towards her stomach. She used one hand to hold her severely aching head while the other cluched to her stomach. She looked for a wall to hold on to but no walls were close to her. She stumbled backwards and almost fell when she felt something mascular hold her, stopping her from falling.
