Chapter 4

Annie sat down quietly and looked at the three women confused. She wasn't sure why she was called but she knew it wasn't good.

"You called for me." Annie said as a small smile appeared on her lips.

"Mrs Robinson. We have something very important to discuss with you." Mrs Wilfred said curtly.

"What is it that you want to talk to me about?" Annie wished it didn't have anything to do with Wendy misbehaving.

"It's about your daughter."

"What about her?" Annie asked in an uneasy tone. She had a feeling that Wendy had done something bad but what could a five-year old do that had to attract the parent's attention.

"Calm down Mrs Robinson. There's nothing to worry about." Mrs Wilfred said gently. Her gentle smile calmed Annie's nerves down.

"Well, if there's nothing to worry about, then why I'm I here." Annie said.

"Your daughter has turned the school into a warrior zone." Lady Vera said bluntly. Her words seemed to have angered Annie.

"What do you mean about the that? How dare you say that about my daughter?" Annie said and turned to face Mrs Wilfred.

"Please explain this, I didn't come here to listen to trash." Annie said brashly. Her reaction made Lady Vera look shocked. She didn't expect such retaliation from Annie.

"Annie please calm down. Lady Vera didn't mean it. She was just joking around." Lady Monica said with a pleading tone. Her humbleness could be sensed in her words by Annie.

Annie breathed in and tried to listen to Lady Monica.

"Mrs Robinson, I apologise on behalf of Lady Vera. I understand how her words might have hurt you. I promise it won't happen again." Mrs Wilfred said.

Annie wasn't going to give in like that, so she said,

"I want her to apologise, only then will I be satisfied."
