Chapter 2

"Why do you do this?, you always leave your family behind and put work first which is wrong." Annie said loudly.

"Annie, I don't want to argue with you..."

"Williams, I also don't want to argue with you but you have to drop Wendy at school today"

"Why can't you do it? Isn't it also your job to care for Wendy?" Williams asked.

"I'm going to the school elect meeting. The meeting starts by eight and I'm already late." Annie said.

"What is an elect meeting?" Williams asked confused.

"It's a meeting for both parents and school authorities. They look for ways to help move the school forward." Annie explained wearily. She was getting sick and tired of Williams awful behavior.

"Then don't go today. You can go another day." Williams said calmly. He wasn't in the mood to argue with his wife so he found the simplest way to answer her.

"I'm going because of our daughter Wendy. I was called specifically because of her." Annie said. Williams walked up to where Annie was with a serious expression on his face,

"I don't care why you want to attend. I've made my decision, I'm not dropping Wendy off at school. If you can't do it, then let her be." He said in a calm tone

His calm aura and nonchalant attitude had shocked Annie.

Wendy had just finished her cereal when she heard her mother's voice. She wanted to use the opportunity and watch some cartoon but decided to check on her mother.

She ran straight to her parents room and stood outside the door. She didn't want to be rude and interrupt their conversation.

"Annie if you really love your daughter so much, then take care of her yourself and stop bothering me." Williams said angrily and left the room. He had just lost his cool and needed a place to relax. Annie followed behind him and saw Wendy looking at them with her clear blue crystal eyes.

"What are you doing here?" Williams asked in a cold tone. Wendy wasn't sure how to answer her dad's question, so she looked at her mother instead.

"Baby, what Daddy means is why aren't you downstairs?" Annie said with a faint smile on her face.

"I heard mommy's voice and I decided to check it out." Wendy said in a low tone.

"No one was shouting, it was just a friendly chat." Annie said and pinched Wendy left cheek softly which made Wendy giggle softly.

"Mommy, will Daddy take me to school?" Wendy asked. Annie was about to say something when her husband said,

"No! But don't worry, mommy will do it." With that, he left.

"Mommy, will you really take me to school today?" Wendy asked with a smile on her face. Her smile was so beautiful that it touched every part of Annie's heart.

"yes. Mommy will. Let mommy get ready first." Annie said.
