Chapter 1

"Sweetheart, It's time for school." Annie said as she packed up Wendy's lunchbox. She went into the sitting room with the lunchbox and took off her apron.

"Mommy, I'm here." Wendy said as she ran down the stairs quickly.

"Careful so you won't fall." Annie said cautiously.

"Okay mommy." The little girl said and giggled softly.

"Your food is on the dining table, eat up and wait for me. I'll go get Daddy." Annie said.

"Okay mommy." The little girl said smiling.

Annie walked up the stairs and went into her room. She opened the door and saw her husband talking to someone over the phone. She stood and waited patiently for him to be done.

Three minutes later, her husband hung up the call and looked at Annie with an expressionless face.

"What do you want?" He asked facing the mirror.

"Wendy is waiting downstairs for you. She needs you to take her to school." Annie said.

"What about the bus?" He asked looking at Annie.

"She missed it." Annie said calmly.

Williams sighed and said,

"I won't be able to help her, you'll have to do it yourself." He said. He picked up a black jacket from the bed and wore it.

"Why not?" Annie asked confused.

"I just got a call from my manager. He needs me to take a look around our fourth department and I need to do it quickly."

"How does that interfere with you taking your daughter to school?" Annie asked with her hands crossed.

"The distance between Wendy's school and the department is too far. I can't disappoint my boss..."

"But you're able to leave your daughter hanging because of work." Annie said loudly.
