DANGEROUS FAMILY

NOAH'S POV

(PAST)

I was driving senselessly, eager to get away from everything for a while. I needed to clear my mind.

I couldn't sleep last night and the night before. I don't know what is happening to me. My mind is not at ease since the moment I met her.

Aurora.

The mystery girl and the lost Serrano that no one talks about.

I asked one of my men to find out more about her and just as expected, he couldn't find any information on her.

No news, no publicity.

I did come across a news article that says her mother Leela Serrano was pregnant with her second child but the child died along with her.

So basically according to the news and other sources, Alex doesn't have a sister because she died when she was in her mother's womb and he is the sole heir of the entire Serrano empire.

From the outside, it does look like that, but something is missing, an important piece of information.

She is beautiful, and Senior Serrano can easily marry her off to a rich man to expand his empire but he is hiding her for some unknown reason. He loves showing off his grandson to the world but why not her?

Is it because she is a girl?

He can't be that shallow, or is he?

I was so lost in my mind that I didn't even see the figure bumping into my car and I pressed breaks immediately hoping I didn't hurt anyone.

But the loud thud indicates that I did hit someone.

I got out of the car immediately; I was far from the city so if this person is badly hurt then I can get into trouble or maybe not but I can't just leave this person unattended.

I saw a frail body lying in front of and panicking I turned to her to check her pulse but froze when I realized who it was.

Aurora.

The same girl who has been consuming my thoughts for the past few days.

Blood was gushing out of her head and she also had a few cuts and bruises on her face which seemed fresh.

What the hell is going on?

What is she doing here? On the outskirts of the town with no one around.

Without wasting any time I lifted her in my arms and cursed at how light she was.

I rushed to the nearest hospital and stayed there with her.

A different kind of fire ignited in my chest when I got a proper look at her bruises. There was a visible handprint on her right cheek with a busted lower lip.

Her head injury was minor but her entire right eye was swollen and it looked worse now that I was able to take a clear look at her face.

Who did this to her?

Her grandfather?

Her brother?

I shook my head and contemplated whether I should inform her family or not but decided against it.

I needed to know more about her and for that, I needed her close to me.

****

After a few hours, she finally opened her eyes and groaned in pain, I was instantly by her side to check if she needs anything.

"Hi," I said softly.

She looked at me with her doe eyes with a confused and lost expression on her face.

"I-it you." she instantly recognized me and I nodded while offering her a glass of water.

After taking a few sips she was able to speak.

"Yeah, it's me. Now can you tell me what happened to you?"

I realized that I didn't like the way she was looking at me, broken and helpless.

"I-I.." she couldn't even complete a full sentence and started crying.

"Hey….hey, it's fine. I am here for you. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." I said and took her small hands in mine.

So soft.

"Do you want me to call your brother?" I asked once she stopped crying,

She sniffed and nodded hesitantly.

I doubted if he was going to pick up but I still tried to contact him for his sister's sake. I don't know why but I didn't want to call his grandfather.

Thankfully Alex picked up the call but was not able to pick up his sister as he was out of town.

I cursed mentally and had no choice but to drop her at her mansion, where I was hoping I'll find senior Serrano.

I hate that man, but I don't really have any choice.

After making sure that she is fine, I dropped her at her place where I could see Senior Serrano waiting outside with his guards.

He was tapping his left foot constantly on the floor and Aurora visibly shivered when one of the guards pulled open the gate and almost dragged her outside the car but one glare from me stopped him from doing so.

I also stepped out of the car and nodded at Senior Serrano as a form of greeting.

"Mr. Kaine, thank you for dropping her. We were about to contact the cops but Alex stopped us from doing so. Where did you find her?" He questioned but I could tell that the concern in his voice was fake and I know damn well that he never would have contacted the cops.

"I almost hit her but she was already in a pretty bad condition," I answered vaguely.

I don't know but it felt like she was going to get in trouble and I wanted to protect her.

"oh…don't pay attention to her. She is mentally unstable and that's why she tried to run away from us because she thought that I was hurting her." He said and I took a quick glance at Aurora to check if it was the truth but sadly she wasn't looking at me, in fact, she was not looking at anyone.

She was looking down at the ground and shaking.

"Is she really Alex's sister?" I questioned once again.

"Yes, but not a real one. She is his cousin but her parents died so we are taking care of her."

I raised my brow and nodded.

Another lie.

Why are you hiding her true identity Andrius?

"Okay. I should leave now." I shook his hand even though I didn't want to and took my leave but before starting my car I turned once again to take a look at her.

And this time I caught her staring at me with pleading eyes and trembling lips.

She was trying to tell me something through her eyes but I couldn't understand and then her grandfather dragged her inside to only god knows where.

This family is dangerous.
