13 ALMOST, BUT NOT QUITE

Despite having so many guests from the council, my father insisted on having a celebratory dinner for me.

Once everyone had settled into their rooms, they were asked to join us in the main dining area where the tables had been set and the food prepared.

"It's too lavish." I told Jason as we walked into the dining room to check it out. I was giving him a tour of the packhouse before we got my things so that I could move into his room.

"No, it's not lavish enough." Jason said as we walked into the room.

At the center, the banners of the Shadows Pack were hung, showcasing who's home this was. Since we had guests it was customary to hang the banners of other packs, covens, and kingdoms as well.

"Jason." I groaned as I looked around the room. "This is too much."

"To me, you are my queen. You are the one person that will ever own my heart. I would conquer kingdoms just for you." He said to me in a chivalrous tone.

"You sound like we are in the 15th century or something." I told Jason with a laugh.

"It's the truth." He said with a shrug.

"Oh, wow." I said as I pointed out the banners placed directly at the sides of the Shadow Pack's. It was his pack's banners, the Silver Moon Pack.

"I guess your pack was eager to celebrate us finding each other." Jason said as he wrapped his arms around my shoulder, letting me lean on to his strong chest. "I'm eager for us to celebrate as well." He whispered into my ear.

My reaction, however, was not what I expected. I thought I would be embarrassed and I would blush at his words, instead I felt myself getting wet with need.

"Tonight." I told him as I turned around and got up on my toes, planting a kiss on his lips.

"Tonight." He responds to me with a nod as we walk out of the elaborately decorated room.

"Let me change into something more comfortable then I can give you a tour around the pack." I told him as we made our way up to the Alpha's floor through the elevator.

The top floor was quiet as my father and mother were in their offices and my brother was in the training center.

He always went there in the afternoon to help train and teach the younger wolves who had not yet shifted.

My brother always had the passion to fight, much more than I did. To me it was just a means to an end. A way to protect my people, but to him he loved fighting.

"Here." I told Jonas as we turned to my room. "Sorry, it's a bit of a mess." I told him as I pushed the door and we entered.

My room was quite big, I had a walk-in closet connected to my bathroom on one side and a four poster queen sized bed to the left.

At the center was a study which doubled as an office for me. It had a couch at the center where I could entertain guests.

"I won't take long, you can sit down if you want to." I told Jason as I held his hand and led him into my room.

He closed the door behind him as he followed me in. I felt nervous as we were truly alone for the first time.

I look back at him and watch as his eyes explore my room, he seemed curious as he tried to learn more about me based off of what he saw.

"Maybe we should just stay here." He told me as I gestured for him to sit on the couch.

"Won't it be awkward for you?" I asked. "My parents' room is just at the end of the hall." I pointed out.

"Are the rooms soundproof?" He asked me as he sat down and pulled me on his lap.

I moan as I feel something harden against me. I knew what it meant, he wanted me just as much as I wanted him.

"They are." I responded as his lips gently kissed the crook of my neck. I let out a small whimper as he raised his head to look at me.

"I love that you want me." He told me as I moved to sit next to him.

"Why pretend that I don't?" I asked him.

"Most she-wolves like to play hard to get, love." He told me as he kissed the tip of my nose.

'Horny human, just mate with him already.' Ares hissed in my head, making me groan.

"Yours is being impatient too?" Jason asked as he noted my reaction.

I swear this man was just too perfect, he knew what I felt when I felt it. He touched me where I needed him to touch me.

No wonder everyone told me that your mate was your perfect match, because it was true. Jason filled a void in my heart that I never knew existed.

I dated in the past and I thought that was love, but this, what I was experiencing right now, this was love. It was so intense that it consumed every ounce of my being.

I loved him so unconditionally from the moment I met him that I didn't understand how I could fall so fast and so hard.

"Amaya." He called out as he noticed that I was distracted.

I laughed and shook my head.

"Yeah, Ares is not the most patient wolf." I told him.

"Nor is my Hercules." Jason said as he suddenly pulled me to him.

Before I knew it his lips crashed into mine, devouring it hungrily. I won't lie, I wanted it just as much as he did. I was just as thirsty for him as he was for me.

I felt his hands wander all over my body, everywhere his hands touched sent a pleasurable tingle throughout my body.

He gave me one last hungry kiss before pulling away, making me frown.

I heard Ares chuckle in my head, but I chose to ignore her. I'm sure she had some quip about how thirsty I was for his attention.

I wouldn't deny it, I was. I wanted more.

"Not now, Amaya." Jason said as he gave me a peck on the lips. "I don't think I can control myself if we go any further." He confessed.

"Then don't control yourself, let's just mate." I told him, making him laugh at my reaction.

"If we start mating now I don't think we will make it back down for your birthday dinner, my love." Jason told me as he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Plus I still need to move my things from my room to yours."

I raised an eyebrow at him, slightly confused by his words. It was rare for an alpha to be willing to move into a woman's place. They demanded dominance, and we she-wolves were built to submit.

"Don't worry, Amaya, it won't hurt my image at all. If that's what you are worried about." Jason told me as he got up and fixed himself. "I don't mind living under the roof of my future Luna's family."

His words made my heart flutter, I never expected to be mated to such an amazing man, one that was so unique and so perfect in every way imaginable.

"I'll be back soon, love." He told me as he leaned down and gave me a kiss before disappearing out the door.
