Batman departs: the formation of SHIELD

Keyne enjoyed being lazy but disliked lying.

However, lying was sometimes necessary for peace and quiet…

After a lengthy conversation with Batman, during which Keyne threw calm curveballs more one way than the other, the two conversing parties began to see eye to eye.

Batman possessed a lethal brain capable of handling mental gymnastics like a boss, and he was extremely quick-witted.

Keyne never mentioned Arella's name once.

When she finally arrived after Keyne had someone yell for her to come down and introduced herself, Dick, who had been mostly quiet and attentive until then, exclaimed in amazement, "You're Rachel's mother, aren't you? What are you doing here?

Keyne, don't tell me that's your student you mentioned?"

Because Keyne preferred informal conversation and Batman was willing to do whatever Keyne asked, everyone in the room began using their first names instead of more formal names.

Batman was no longer addressing Keyne as Mister Keyne, but as simply Keyne.

Dick, on the other hand, had been calling Keyne by his first name since they were around the same age.

Dick was in his early to mid-20s.

Keyne had no idea what Dick's age was based on what little memories he had thanks to the previous body user, and he didn't care enough to ask.

Keyne used his reality-bending magic to write floating, invisible words in the air for Arella to see without anyone noticing.

Then he replied to Dick as Batman and Dick exchanged frowns, "You guys know each other? Is there a problem that I should be aware of?" He was pushing his acting skills to the limit and relying on Batman to connect the dots he had given him.

Batman immediately questioned Dick, "Dick, are you sure that's Rachel's mother?"

"Positive…" Dick nodded quickly and solemnly. "Something's going on here, remember Rachel talking about her mother disappearing? That's what we were supposed to look into today before seeing this kid's trailer on the internet."

"Right. Now that you bring it up..." Batman nodded in agreement. He scanned and nodded to the silent Arella until he faced Keyne and asked, "What is happening here? Something we need to know?"

He had a suspicious scowl on his face.

"That's my question to you guys." Keyne laughed, perplexed. "Arella, do you know these people?" he inquired.

"Yes, Teacher." Arella was in synchronized acting with Keyne when she said, "They should be acquaintances of my daughter."

"..."

For a brief moment, the atmosphere was tense before Dick inquired, concerned and slightly doubtful,"Miss Roth, you're that student who got summoned in Keyne's car all of a sudden? We went to San Francisco and saw... I mean… What exactly went down?"

When she said something similar to what Keyne had told Batman and Dick earlier, Batman was quietly listening. "I can't seem to recall all of the details of the magical ritual I was performing… All I know is that I sensed danger out of nowhere, so I recited some ancient spell that I can't remember, and the next thing I knew, I was safe and had arrived here."

She continued, "It was a little scary at first, landing on him out of nowhere, but Teacher has been good with me and helping."

"Ceremony?" Batman appeared to be considering something and asked, "What sort of ceremony? Do you also share those recollections?" What he asked was something he had already confirmed with Keyne, but Batman was, after all, a detective...

He could not hear only one side.

"Like I said, I don't know what magic I was performing when I lost my powers…" Arella replied. "In terms of recollections, are you possibly referring to the other worlds? Have you also become aware?"

Dick and Batman both nodded.

"Interesting." Arella walked over to Keyne and took a seat next to him. "Can I assume you two came from San Francisco then?" she asked. "How is my daughter?"

She'd improvised on something, but the text Keyne was having her read was finished.

"Worried about you." Dick responded. "It seems she worried in vain..."

"Indeed." Batman nodded. "I think I know what's going on here now."

Everyone looked at him as he said to Keyne, "Keyne, you must have been a powerful magical recluse or even some kind of superior divine being in the other worlds... Do you have any idea who this woman is?"

Keyne made a shaky motion with his head.

Dick smiled as Batman explained, "The lady seated next to you is Angela Roth, also known as Arella to some. She was a supernatural consort of the destroyer of worlds, Trigon…" He finished his explanation with a dramatic flourish.

Keyne wasn't stunned, but he pretended to be because he wasn't supposed to be familiar with Arella in either world. He looked at her, surprised, and asked, "Destroyer of worlds?"

"Well… I have no recollection of any of this..." Arella replied with a shake of her head. "All I know is that I was trained by my cult to summon a great benevolent being into the world. However, his name was really Trigon..."

What was interesting this time was that she wasn't lying this time... Some unwanted, dangerous parts of her awakened memories had been cleared thanks to my system, such as her having romantic sex with the intergalactic devil…

Rachel, in her new perspective, was conceived with a man she met in a bar and slept with once.

She was unaware of Trigon's influence on this world... Yes. Because this world was doomed to be devoured by him, but something was changed thanks to my arrival and my system.

However, the true ancient history of this world was unimportant. It was only important to me. And Batman.

But I was never going to tell him things that were no longer important and that he had no need to know now that Gaea and other gods had awakened.

I only knew a little about the story because the system warned me that I wouldn't understand everything. The history of this alternate DC Earth revolved around an old beef between Zeus from another world and Dream of the Endless.

Dream of the Endless used to have some sort of beef with Zeus from another universe back when he was still in the petty game and less of a slacker.

Rather than dealing with it there, he brought it here in the 1500s. He made some history vanish.

Surprisingly, his dream-based reshaping of the world resulted in fewer wars and greater technological advancement.

It was doomed to perish, however, because there were no superheroes or mutants to defend it.

After enduring a lengthy explanation from Batman while feigning attentive listening, Keyne breathed a sigh of relief as the storm looming above his head subsided.

He was not going to be labeled a bad guy.

He and Batman had become allies, whether implicitly or explicitly, whether they had spoken about it or not.

Because of his inquisitive nature, Batman occasionally sought advice from experts in fields he was unfamiliar with, which reminded Keyne of a certain Madame Xanadu he had recently learned about.

Batman said to Keyne on his way out with his wife, Dick, and Alfred, "I won't take more of your time than is necessary; I've learned more than I came to learn today. My wife's agent and I are still interested in your filmmaking gig, but if you don't mind, let's reschedule our meeting for another day. Will tomorrow evening do for you?"

"No worries." Keyne spoke up. "Are you going to stay in the city for the next few days?"

Batman responded, "I'll stay at a nearby residence because I haven't seen my wife in quite some time."

"I don't particularly enjoy the weather in this city," he continued, implying something cryptic, "but there are things here I'd like to study."

"Things?" Keyne inquired, perplexed.

"I'm trying to locate something." Batman stated without providing many details. "Please contact me at my phone number if you have any further inquiries." He appeared unwilling to discuss it in front of Selina.

Keyne nodded and went back inside, waving him and their group goodbye for the time being.

He wanted to discuss business with Batman, but they had already discussed more important matters.

Without time, they couldn't be any closer than they already were, and business was just a minor detail at this point.

"How was I?" Arella, who was waiting for him in the large hall, inquired.

"Haha… You delivered an outstanding performance. But don't you miss your child?" Keyne laughed.

"We don't get along very well. And speaking of which, if you don't mind Teacher, I intend to have her come here anyway." Arella stated.

Keyne nodded and said, "Oh."

He needed to get something done, so he went up and left her to her own devices.

She had her own daughter's phone number and could call her whenever she wanted to tell her whereabouts and other information.

Dick, on the other hand, had most likely already contacted her.

Sometime later.

Keyne expected Arella to be more heartless with her daughter, whom she didn't seem to care about, but from the quiet of his room, he noticed her having a long call in the garden outside.

He had decided to postpone his unexpected visit to the government employee who was engaging in some illegal activity on his behalf.

He was in his room with a few other people, one of whom was Sif.

He was working on something that would make his life easier.

Keyne had released a new trailer and made the decision to establish SHIELD in this world.

So far, he had only released three free trailers worldwide, and he intended to release a full-length film at some point. But he'd had enough of giving out free entertainment like he had done for the past 24 hours.

He had finished gaining the negative clout he required for his activity to begin.

Keyne turned around to confront the two men who were loudly and perplexingly questioning Sif, the first two men he had summoned, and said, "Nick, Steve, nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you? And who the fuck are you now?!" Nick Fury exclaimed.

He still had no fucking clue where he was.

Keyne ignored him and turned to smile at Steve, who was missing his iconic Vibranium-Adamantium shield.

Keynes was not one to speak nonsense when it wasn't necessary. "Steve, you want to see Peggy again, right?" he smirked. "What if I told you that I have the power to reunite you two?"

END OF CHAPTER

I've decided to be lazy, so I'm going to use the general POV writing style from now on, so you can see everyone's thoughts at the same time. The story will also move faster this way.

Also. Concerning Peggy Carter. (The original SHIELD creator and Steve's former lover before meeting Sharon, her niece)

The MC will have a romantic interest in Peggy as well, so the version of her he summons for Steve and himself will be two different people.

The Peggy summoned for the MC will be the one who hasn't met Steve yet.

As the MC moves out of his house to begin living with Batman, the summons will begin constructing their own villages and other structures. To be self-sufficient and not be a bother all day.

I'll see you later.
