6 Chapter six

I stood in front of my room door, I was praying I would not have some brat as my roommate.

Gathering up my courage, I knocked. I knew it would be rude to just open the door and walk in, even though I had a key I should at least allow the person inside to open it first. I would not want to give a bad impression the first time we meet.

After waiting a while after I had knocked, I began to hear footsteps. Finally, the door flew open, and so did my heart.

In front of me stood a pretty girl, she looked Asian, Korean to be specific. She did not look like she was fully Korean though, her features seemed like a mix of Korean and American, and she was really pretty.

Her hair was long and silky, she had a small pointed nose which was cute, pout lips, big beautiful blue eyes, and a nice eyebrow. Her lashes were also long, oh wow.

"Hi, may I help you?" She asked me after staring at me for a while. I shook my head, I was acting like a creep. I had forgotten I was meant to introduce myself, instead, I just stood there staring at her like a creep.

"Uhm I am sorry, I am your new roommate. My name is Lily Anderson." I said as I extended my hand for a handshake.

After staring between my now extended hand and face, she pulled me into a hug which surprised me.

I stood frozen as she hugged me tightly. Before I could respond, she pulled out.

"Welcome Lily, my name is Kim Jisoo." She said and I smiled. My suspicions were valid, she was Korean.

"Oh, Korean?" I asked before I could stop myself. She looked Korean, but still not Korean.

"Yes, well I am half Korean and half American." She said to me with a smile and I nodded as I fought the smirk building its way up to my face.

I was right, oh I was so smart.

"Oh, that is very nice. Well, I am American." I said and she laughed.

"I know, you look like an American." She said and I smiled awkwardly.

I was still standing outside, it seemed she got so caught up in the conversation that she forgot about the part where she was supposed to allow me to come in.

"Oh my bad, please come in." She said and I walked in and smiled.

I saw a poster of BTS on her wall and I smiled. I also loved those boys, they were my favorite K-pop male group.

"Into BTS?" I asked and she smiled instantly. Her eyes were shining.

"Yes, I love them. I have been in the army for two years now." She said with a smile.

"I have been one for three years," I said and her eyes widened.

"Army sisters…" she said and I laughed.

Taking the hint, I took my things to the other bed in the room. There was another corner, the room was divided. I took my things and kept them on the bed as I began to unpack.

She seemed to have been watching a movie before I came, so she lay back on her bed and continued watching whatever movie it was that she had been watching.

Finally, I was unpacking my stuff. And my side of the room looked a bit nice, I had changed the pillowcase and bed sheets. I put on my favorite white and black one which made the place look nice.

I turned to see Jisoo still watching a movie. Seemed like a long movie, I guessed.

"What is the name of the movie?" I asked her and she turned to me with a smile

"It is a series." She said and my eyes widened. If there was something I loved about the series, I loved the suspense that killed me when I waited for the next episode to come out. It was a very weird reason to like it but I did not care. I still did.

"What is that name?" I asked her with interest.

"Ever heard of Wednesday?" She said and my smile widened. I had heard of that series, but I had not watched it yet.

"Yes, I have heard of it but I have not watched it yet," I said.

"Well that is what I am watching, come on. I will start from episode one for you since you have never seen it." She said as she made space for me in her bed.

After contemplating for a while, I stood up and went to her bed. Just like mom had said before I left, I should have fun and enjoy college.

I had isolated myself from my peers for too long, I was no longer a kid and this was not high school. I needed to enjoy it at least.

"Alright," I said and lay down. She smiled and turned off the lights, as she played from season one.

About two hours later, we took a break. It was already 8:00 pm. Just how long had we been watching? I could estimate it to be about two hours.

The series was interesting, I loved things and Enid a lot. They were my favorite characters.

"Wow, it is already 8:00 pm." She said as she stood up and hurriedly shut her laptop. What was happening? What was wrong? Why was she suddenly rushing?

"What will happen by 8:00 pm?" I asked as I stared at her.

"A party, the freshmen welcome party. It starts by 8:30 pm and we are yet to get ready." She said as she removed her tank top and threw it across the room.

"Huh?" I said, trying not to sound too awkward.

"The seniors throw this party every year, to welcome new freshmen. It's very fun and everyone is invited." She said with a smile.

"Are you a freshman?" I asked her.

"Of course I am." She said If she was then how did she know all this?

"I knew from my brother duh…" she said and my eyes moved to her so quickly.

"Did I say that out loud?" I asked and she laughed.

"Nope, but from your expressions, I could guess what was on your mind." She said and I tried not to look at her like she was a creep. Yet I thought I was weird. What would you call this?

"So…let's get ready." She said,

"For?" I asked

"The party!" She said as she facepalmed, making me chuckle.

"Oh…that," I said

"You knew didn't you?" She asked me with a knowing smile.

"Well…some guy invited me to the party but I didn't even know what exactly it was."

"Oh, my god. What's his name? Is he cute?" She said as she winked at me, making laughter erupt from me. We sounded like high schoolers talking about the guy they had a crush on.

"Yeah, he is really cute. He said his name is Damien Jackson." I said and she stopped in her movements, turning her face to me.

"Damien? That is my brother's best friend." She said excitedly.

"Oh…wow., I said

"Yeah, well go get dressed then. We have to leave." She said and I hesitated for a while. I did not want to go anywhere.

"Nah.. I'll pass," I said with a shrug.

"Hell nah! You are coming with me whether you like it or not." She said and she dragged me into the closet. I did not want to go to any party, I was a nerd and I was sure I would stand out like a clown.

College was going to be a long journey with this girl.
