Chapter 2 : It's freaking small.

The day began anew with me filling them with constant and endless experiments on Word Magic.

How could I tell the passage of time? By praying and doing my best!

Of course, not...I still couldn't tell shit.

What happened was that I occasionally had a blackout. Maybe a blackout was rather ambiguous since everything around me was pitch black.

Sleep. I guess that was more like it.

Judging by how my consciousness would suddenly get cut off and how refreshing it was when I came to, there's no other explanation than that.

Anyway, it was not like I had a problem with that. On the contrary, I welcomed the experience. Sure, it came and went as it pleased, but it served as a nice break while I spent the majority of my time trying this and that with my blessing.

So, by using the periodical blackout...Erm, sleeping time, I started counting my day.

'It won't be accurate? Do you honestly think I will give a flying fuck about that?'

'You know that movie...Cast Away? Where the dude keeps counting his day like someone waiting to die but can't?'

'I totally understand why he did those now. It was one of the many things he did to keep his sanity intact.'

So, yeah. I was trying so hard to keep my mind by occasionally bantering against myself inside the ever-calm void. And honestly, it helped a ton.

'Phew...' I released some of the tension away and started my routine again.

A bit of context before we begin. My blessing, Word Magic, could do whatever it was that I could think of. The problem was the level of absurdity in which my imagination began had too wide of a gap with my current capabilities.

I have tried lots and lots of things, though. Things like make me stronger, make me smarter, and many more.

The result was the buzzing inside my soul that rang true every single time. I know why it didn't work, but I decided to try anyway. Time was all I could afford to waste at the moment.

Basically, commands like make me stronger were too general. As a result, it would make me strong as a whole. And that scope was too big. There were too many aspects to constitute the word strong, after all.

The vitality of the body, the density of muscles, the strength of bones...not to mention the image I had in my head when I willed the command was tilted to the word strong in a combat sense.

And that meant a whole other array of other things to be included, like combat experience on top of my head. It would definitely make me stronger if I had the experience of the best boxer in the world, that was for sure.

Anyway, being specific was the only way to go in my current state.

But that didn't mean I was stuck in a rut.

No, no, good sir.

I figured since I couldn't monitor whether I was getting stronger or not physically, why not try the other aspect first? The one that was new in this second life I was given.

Magic...

Because I didn't know squat about magic, I decided in the spirit of ignorance to jump in headfirst and figure out the rest later.

God did show me a clear picture of what this world would be, but the details were always up for me to figure out. In other words, I just gotta grind whatever the hell I could grind.

'Increase my magic...' Hence, another series of trials and errors began. 'By the size of a fis-'

'Fist is too big? Then how about...Increase my magic by the size of a thum-' Again, the warning buzzed wildly.

'A thumb is still too big?' I could feel the bad premonition crawling up on me at that point. Still, I chose not to give in.

'Increase my magic by the size of a pinky toe-' The ominous buzzing rang yet again. Only this time, another sound followed suit right from the depth of my mind.

It was far from loud, but I could hear it clearly nonetheless.

'So, that's what it felt like when my blessings grow...' It was surely a surreal and joyous surprise, I must say.

'Let's leave it at that. I can figure out what changes in time.' And I gathered my scattered minds again.

'Pinky toe is still too big...Increase my magic by the size of an ant-' The buzzing resounded.

But something was different. It felt different than the usual harsh one. Face with the unexpected discovery, I tried to make sure of it.

'Increase my magic by the size of fist-...Yeap. This one is more intense...Increase my magic by the size of an an-'

And I smiled as my theory was proven right.

In short, the more danger it posed to me, the more intense the blessing's reaction would be.

It was handy; I won't lie. That way, I could gauge my options, and my area of operation could only get bigger. It was surely a whole lot better than whenever the blessing rang, I was close to dying.

So, thanks to that, I could figure out what I needed to do.

'Increase my magic by the size of an ant's egg!'

And voila...it worked.

'Yes! Hell yeah! It works!!' No buzzing meant good. It did tingle a bit, though, like it was contemplating whether to tell me that it was dangerous or not. But since there ain't any, then that's all I needed to know.

No buzz meant I was good to go.

After relishing in my short victory for a while, I then stumbled upon a simple fact that I had forgotten.

The source of my bad feelings that have crept up since a while ago...

'Ant's egg...?'

Since the blessing corresponded well to the image in my head if wanted to be specific, then the exact size would sharply be at 0.5 millimeters.

How did I know the size? Well, I did some reading, that's how.

And how small was 0.5 millimeters? It was freaking small.

'Well, fuck!'
