15 My dear servant -1

"Katie!" Ziana got up from her seat when she spotted Kate looking around in the corridor. Hearing her voice, Kate rushed towards her.

"Are you alright?" She worriedly asked holding Ziana's hand and scanned her body. Earlier, Ziana suddenly called to rush to this hospital and she was so panicked that she immediately rushed leaving behind her work. They had waited enough for the drug supplier who didn't show up.

"I am fine." Ziana awkwardly answered and scratching her brow, she added, "It's Zayden." She wouldn't be surprised to know what exactly happened. Would she?

"What happened to him?"

"I stab-stabbed him." Ziana answered and Kate's mouth widened in shock. But before she could scold or comment, Lia came to Ziana's rescue.

"He wanted to scare her off but ended up getting stabbed instead." And when Kate's brows furrowed in confusion, she continued, "There was a short circuit in her house and Ziana just acted out of self-defense as he sneaked into her house."

"So you really stabbed him? Kate asked with a deep frown. Yes, her best friend was really crazy!

"He is fine now so you don't need to worry." Lia answered again making Kate sigh and shake her head. "The doctors said with proper care, he would heal quickly." She added much to her displeasure.

"What did the cops say?" Kate asked curiously. If they decided to file a case, her mission of preventing Ziana from entering the investigation world would become easy. She needed to talk to them and lure them to achieve her goals.

"They believe Ziana's intentions were moral and decided to discuss it with seniors." Lia sighed and continued, "Since it was an affirmative defense, they believe she wouldn't be charged anything."

Ziana gasped in horror. No, she couldn't have a chargesheet printed with her name. Once she joins the detective corps, that would become huge gossip and may affect her career.

"I cannot have a case filed against me." She shrieked and turned to Kate who sighed out loud.

"I will try to talk with them." Kate said turning to her.

"Thank you, Katie." Ziana exclaimed and hugged her shoulders. As long as her best friend was with her, she didn't need to worry about anything.

"Maybe I should join you." Lia said as she felt a kind of negative energy building up in Kate's spirit. This was weird and she needed to keep an eye on her.

"No! I will handle it." Kate declined with a polite smile.

She turned around to leave and Lia grew more suspicious about her.

"How long have you been friends?" She asked turning to Ziana.

"I think around five years. We met and got instantly clicked during our first year at university." Ziana answered with a sweet grin. If not for Kate, her college life would have been a waste. And ever since, she has become an integral part of her life. Someone who was with her in her joys and sorrows. Someone who stood beside her and helped her become a better person.

Lia nodded and smiled back in response. This poor girl would be so heartbroken when Kate would reveal her real face. It was too early but that day would come in the end.

"Shall we have some coffee?" Lia asked with a smile. It was almost midnight and Ziana hadn't eaten since they arrived at the hospital.

"I would love to." Ziana gingerly nodded with a grateful smile. Her stomach had been grumbling angrily and she needed to obey its orders.

"Let's go." Lia said and walked towards the cafeteria. She might even learn more about Kate.

Lady Winter had tried to dig about her at the inquiry desk in heaven but failed. She had asked them to get more information about her and Ziana was the most effective source to get some clues.

--

Next day.

"No, I am not taking care of him." Ziana shook her head and declared.

"No, you will take care of him." Kate argued with a straight face. "Take responsibility for your actions."

"He can just stay in the hospital for a few more days. They can take better care of him." Ziana grumbled glaring at the arrogant creature.

He was throwing a tantrum again to leave this hospital. And her kind best friend suggested him to stay at her house without seeking her permission.

"She had already been through enough trouble because of him. Let's not burden her more." Lady Winter said and Ziana smiled at her in gratitude. Her mother-in-law was so humble and considerate.

"Ask someone to clean our old farmhouse here." She said turning to Lia who quickly nodded back.

"No, I am not staying in that slum." Zayden declared and Ziana gritted her teeth.

"How about you move to New Manston?" Xavier suggested as he had been staying there until their new mansion was ready in this town.

"Do you think I can travel with this wound?" Zayden grumbled again making Ziana scoff in disbelief.

This guy was hell bent on moving to her house!

"I will stay at Ziana's house." He calmly declared making everyone sigh out loud. Now this was turning into an endless argument.

"No, you cannot!"

"Fine then!" Zayden turned to Lia and asked, "Call a lawyer and sue her for harming me."

"Sure! Go ahead!" Ziana replied crossing her arms.

"Make sure this dumbass pays a hefty price."

"Well, I won't be charged a penny Mr. Dimwit!" Ziana said with a sneer. "This is an affirmative defense case which I am sure your dead brain cannot understand."

Zayden looked at Lia who nodded. She acted out of self-defense and had solid proof of him sneaking into her house, so she didn't have to pay anything as per the laws.

"Well, say that again when my insurance company comes to your house." Zayden came up with another solution to not lose this argument.

And when Ziana frowned, he smirked. "They will make you pay millions, my dear penniless puppy."

"Sadly your health insurance was canceled a few years back." Lia stated the facts and brought an unexpected twist to their fight.

Zayden's face turned pale while Ziana burst into laughter. Yes, she won this argument!

Lia shrugged when Zayden looked at her in disbelief. They were short of money to pay all the wealth taxes they owned in this world. And Lady Winter suggested cancelling all his insurances and even selling his assets since they were never going to send him here again.

Ziana blinked at her husband and faked innocence. "Oh my god! How will I pay you millions now?"

"I am so scared." She mumbled in a nervous voice. "Please spare me, Mr. Pompous Prince."

"I am ready to be your servant. So, please don't charge this innocent me."

Lady Winter and Lia pressed their lips and tried to hold their laughter. While Xavier smiled, Zayden fumed with frustration.

"Enough!" Kate declared done with her jokes. Even Zayden's family was cheering and supporting her to bully him that she pitied him

"He will stay at your house." She said with a straight face. Anyone getting close to Ziana was a potential threat to them. And this guy and his family were deeply interested in Ziana and cared for her. So she needed to keep him close and observe his actions.

"If you don't want your mom to learn about this beautiful mess, you will take care of him."

"But,"

"Let me call her." Kate took out her phone and Ziana shut her mouth.

No, she couldn't afford her mother's wrath and never let this guy reach her. He had already messed up her friend's mind and she didn't want her mother to also take his side.

"Let's take him to Ziana's house." Kate said and smiled at Zayden who looked at her in gratitude.

The Afterlife crew sighed out loud and pitied Ziana's condition. This guy usually holds onto grudges for a long time and will show her hell now.

"Carry them for me." Zayden suddenly threw a bag and jacket at Ziana and everyone shook their heads. He started it very soon.

Ziana glared at him as she caught the things. She scoffed and threw them on the ground to everyone's surprise.

"Over your dead body!" Ziana glowered and stomped onto his jacket. She even rubbed it with her shoe and Lady Winter shook her head with a smile.

This girl was perfect for her son.

"Oh well, Katie." Turning to Kate, Zayden smiled.

"Can I get Aunt Norah's number?" He innocently asked and turned to Ziana.

This piece of shit!

"Sure!" Kate smiled taking out her phone and played along with him.

Ziana scoffed at her best friend in disbelief. How can she change parties?

"Will you now?" Zayden asked taking out his phone.

Ziana sneered at him and picked up the bag. She grabbed the jacket and clutched it tightly. Glaring at him one last time, she walked out of the ward and everyone burst into laughter.

He will pay for it soon!
