Running away
"Finally what took you so long?" Asked an irritated Jessie. Layla was the first to get out of the vents and I soon followed her, we were out of breath from all of the fightings we did earlier so it took us a while to reply to Jessie.
"I have three news for you guys. Two bad news and I think one good news, depending on if you consider this a news." An out of breath Layla said. She whipped her hand and sucked out the water of a nearby plant. The water floated in the air and eventually landed in her mouth. She drank it without even giving me some.
"Well I guess, start with your good news. I think we've been through a lot this past couple of hours, and hearing something good can I don't lighten up the mood?" Theo blabbered a sentence only Theo himself will do. He folded his arms and sat on a near and vacant bed under the wooden bunk bed.
"Spill the beans, Zion. It's your news to tell." Layla said as she turns around and looked at me. Everyone looked at me and somehow I felt like there's this big spotlight focused solely on me and I don't like it.
"Um, I finally know what my true ability is. That's the good news that I want to tell you guys." I announced, hesitating at first because I thought they might see it as me being self-centered.
"WAIT WHAT?! WHAT IS IT?" They all exclaimed in unison. I should trust them more from now on, they'll never think bad stuff about me cause I know they are my friends.
"I can see, control, and possibly manipulate space, reality, and time," I stated. All of their jaws and eyes agape as the news I brought to them slowly sink in into their subconsciousness.
A huge wave of their questions soon followed, each and every one of them has their questions they would like me to address like, "how did I know", "where did I know it", "can I somehow turn them into the buff and strong individuals", all of whom I can answer but knowing that we're on a limited time, I choose to ignore them and continued to inform them on what's currently happening and what's about to happen in the coming moments.
"Guys, I would love to answer all your questions, but we're on borrowed time. We need to get out of this place as soon as possible." I declared. They all went silent as soon as I said this.
"What did you saw Zion?" James asked sternly, his eyes were sharp and focused and his voice was low and serious.
"It's best not to tell you. We just need to get out of this place first, I'll eventually tell all of you once we're safe." I explained, which James seemed to understand, thankfully.
"What's the plan then? I mean we can't just waltz right out of this building and I say that we want to leave right?" Colt suddenly asked. I looked at Layla who was also seemed to be in a state of thinking of something, hopefully.
"I mean, we can just run and fight anyone that stands in our way. We have quirks and they don't." Octavia pointed out her opinion. She looked like she was itching for something to happen, did we really took that long?
"No, that's a very bad idea. They have these guns that shoot out actual electricity. They can immobilize us very easily. We may have an upper hand but we lack in numbers. They can easily outnumber us in a heartbeat." Layla answered, scratching her head in frustration. Her eyes wandered for a moment but before I could speak, she instantly ducked down as a white electric current zoomed past by.
"EVERYONE ON THE FLOOR... NOW!" She yelled, just in time as numerous white streaks of electricity zoomed all over the room. I instantly lept and crashed on the floor, I rolled away and found myself leaning on the wall beside the doorframe and beside Layla.
Everything was happening all at once, I couldn't keep track of the events, and I somehow couldn't even use my quirk. The world halted its rotation and I saw my friends moving ever so slightly as the numerous white streaks of lightning passed by and destroyed everything in its path.
My body wasn't cooperating and once again all I could do is watch. I hated this feeling, this feeling of complete uselessness. I tried everything in my might to move but somehow it wasn't moving! It's as if someone is pinning me down and holding me in place. My legs felt stiff and unmovable, my arms felt like they turned into noodles, and even my fingers felt frozen in place.
"WHO'S THE FREAKING DUMBASS THAT OPENED THE GODDAMN DOOR!!" Theo yelled out, using everything in his power to throw things at the individuals causing all these lightning streaks. I looked away and saw Octavia and Jessie teamed up and threw metal scraps with hidden seeds in them that Jessie can use as her eyes.
"ZION! ISN'T THIS A GOOD TIME TO USE YOUR REALITY BENDING ABILITIES AND WISK US AWAY FROM ALL THIS DANGER?!" Theo yelled at me. I tried to yell back but even my lips were frozen in place! All I could do is breathe and blink!
"HE'S FROZEN IN PLACE THEO! HE CAN'T DO ANYTHING BUT TO BREATHE AND FREAKING BLINK!" Jessie called out. How did she know that? Can she tell my current situation? I didn't even speak or try something t tell them that I'm immobilized yet, but suddenly she knew that I was frozen in place against my own will!
"JESSIE! CAN YOU SEE SOMEONE OUT THERE? SOMEONE OR SOMETHING THAT'S CAUSING THIS ELECTRICITY?!" Layla shouted so that Jessie could hear her. The electric streaks are still not stopping yet it's not hitting anyone of us either. Whoever or whatever this is, it wants us inside this room as long as possible, probably waiting to call for backup or reinforcements.
"DON'T RUSH ME! I'M TRYING TO CONTROL THE SEEDS AS FAST AS I CAN!" Jessie replied. She eventually went silent as she begins possessing the seeds outside the room. Just like at the maze, her veins were popping out and are visible through her skin.
"I SEE PEOPLE! THOSE BLACK SUIT BASTARDS ARE DOING ALL OF THIS!" Jessie frantically informed us. Blood poured out of her eyes and nose, a consequence of using her ability too much.
"HOW MANY?" James called out, his hair turning red and his hands begin to light up a blue fire.
"UHH, I CAN CONFIRM THAT THERE ARE EIGHT OF THEM! THREE ON THE RIGHT, THREE ON THE LEFT, AND TWO AT THE CENTER!" Jessie declared, screaming on top of her lungs.
She eventually reverted back into her normal state and wiped off the blood streaking down her cheeks and lips. I looked at Layla and saw her in the middle of thinking, a great sign for us. Eventually, she snapped back into reality and looked at both James and Theo.
"WIND FREAK AND HOT HEAD! I NEED YOU TO CAUSE A DISTRACTION BIG AND POWERFUL ENOUGH TO STOP THEM FROM OPENING FIRE AND CREATE THESE ELECTRICITY" Layla declared. As soon as she said this, both James and Theo looked at each other and smiled.
"GOT IT!" Both of them simultaneously replied confidently.
"METAL LADY, CAN YOU CREATE SOMETHING TO PROTECT US FROM ALL THESE ELECTRICITY?" Layla questioned the visibly nervous Octavia.
"I CAN CREATE A BIG METAL SHIELD! B-BUT IT'S METAL AND WE'RE UP AGAINST ELECTRICITY!" She replied.
"DON'T WORRY! I'LL HANDLE THE ELECTRICITY USING MY ABILITY! JUST FOCUS ON BEING OUR SHIELD!" Layla replied back. This gave Octavia the push and confirmation that everything will work out she needed. She immediately started taking out everything that's metallic around her and flattened it to form into four gigantic shields.
"USELESS LOVER BOY! PROTECT YOUR PRINCESS AT ALL COST YOU GOT THAT?!" Layla yelled out to Colt who nodded in response and scooped up the weak and tired Jessie.
"And you, Zion." She said as she turned around and face me.
"You're our secret weapon, with your ability and its intensity you can wipe out all of these people in this building but somehow you're frozen in place. I don't know what you're going through right now, but you better get your balls together or I'll leave you behind. Got that?" She said cold-heartedly. She is determined to leave Hellviana and that is clearly visible in her eyes. I nodded in response, even though I didn't intentionally act this way, I wasn't going to argue a fully determined and angst Layla, she might probably leave me in this nightmare of a place.
"IS EVERYONE HERE READY?" Layla declared, we all looked at her with full admiration and respect. She has successfully overthrown Theo as our leader and we're glad to have her.
"READY!!" They all yelled back.
"LET'S LEAVE THIS F*CKING SCHOOL!"
