With Age, Comes Wisdom. Right?

My body wasn't able to adjust fast enough to the sudden departure of my Ki causing me to buckle at the knees.

Quickly, I went to find the location on my body that my energy seemed to be escaping from, and I was just about to plug it when it stopped by itself.

Having a weakened body was something I did not enjoy, however, there was something I used to use for situations like this in my heydays.

Producing my own technique to be able to absorb Ki without needing to get into a meditative state, unfortunately, it does have a few significant drawbacks that I have been hoping to fix over the few millennia, since I created the technique.

Upon activating the technique, it then sends tendrils of Ki to my pores and once they attach themselves I force my pores to open.

Now they were big enough, I quickly created a vacuum inside my body with the strong force of my rotating Ki and doing that causes the Ki in the air to be sucked in through the pores and enter my veins.

However, a limitation is whilst this technique is active the Ki i would also use to reform the energy into my chaos Ki is all being used to create the vacuum, so my body has no time to convert these elements into my chaos Ki.

Thus, it would just be left to circulate inside my body, and unfortunately, I won't be able to use it in any of my attacks or to strengthen my body, but the only plus side is that it does energize me.

When I first went to block the escaping Ki and then went to activate my technique, I did this just before I met eyes with the girl still in my arms.

Bewilderment met my face, feeling the child had put on weight, and seeing that her malnourished body became that of a healthy-looking child with the tint of red behind the skin.

I don't understand how her body filed out, but I can be sure, she took some of my Ki.

I tried to understand why she would need my Ki and, looking at her now, it would be safe to assume it was probably used as a substitute for food to nourish herself back to health.

My mind spent a while trying to understand how she was able to absorb it, and on the other hand, it doesn't help me narrow down what kind of creature she is, as there are plenty out there that can do what she did and even do it better.

But the one big question I need to know the answer to now was, how did she come back to life, I could have sworn I didn't hear her heart or feel a pulse and her body was dead cold.

Well, I no longer need to hold her seeing she now had the energy to move about in my arms, so I put her legs down and went to stand up, but looking I could see her smile fading.

Looking at her confused me, and I could see she noticed it when she began to pout. I don't think she liked being put on the ground when she sneak attacked me with a hug.

Sighing as right now I wanted to know why she wasn't dead, "How aren't you dead?" I spoke with a cold glint in my eyes, which was useless as she had her head buried in my chest looking off to the side.

I didn't mind it, but I would have still liked an answer, so I tried to push the subject by peeling her off me and was shocked to find her grip around my waist got tighter.

The little girl felt him try to push her away and she thought it was for not answering the question, which scared her as she had finally found someone who felt like her family, and she didn't want to let this chance go to fight to stay by his side.

With the tug of war going on, and wanting this to stop, she quickly thought that maybe if she answered she might be able to stay in his arms "P-please daddy, I d-don't know" Upon saying that she felt his arms waver and went in for the hug again and this time with all the strength she could muster.

Being hit with a strong wave of memories after what the girl said brought a sad smile to my face. Shacking those memories away, I looked down with anger behind my voice, "I am not your father" as I saw her back shiver under my voice.

Seeing her look up with a developing tear hanging onto her eye, I watched her open and close her mouth, stuttering out single letters at a time, she seemed to stop when not even a single coherent sentence wasn't coming out.

Tears started to fall from her face when she opened her mouth to talk to me with glassy eyes "D-daddy please don't l-leave me, I really don't k-now" Tears were still falling, and I could only sigh when I saw the innocence in her eyes.

I went to calm her down by reaching out my hand towards her face to wipe the tears away with my thumb and with a soft voice "I can not, be your farther, but if you decide to follow me I would gladly look after you" as I ended it in a smile.

Remorse was a big factor in me staying to talk with her because I wrote her off when I thought she had died, but I still would like to know what she is so i wanted to see if she would even come with me.

The biggest smile formed on her face when she registered what I said "Yes, yes, I want to go with you daddy" as she tried to break my spine with how hard she squeezed my waist.

I could only sigh again under the squeeze, which didn't hurt me, but I would like to be able to leave this building, and not be stuck to some strange girl. Moving my hand in hope that I would be able to calm her down with some head pats to get her to release or at least ease off.

It worked, but not to the extent that I wanted it to, so I needed to think of a way to get her mind off, so I asked for her name, "What is your name?" After saying that, I felt it loosen completely.

The little girl was dumbfounded, as she realised that she didn't even give her daddy her name, nor did she notice he skillfully removed her arms from his body.

After thinking, she quickly spoke "Daddy, I remember, my name being, Uriel" she said, beaming with a smile, but then she thought and also wanted to ask a question "Daddy what's your name?"

I know I never told her to stop calling me 'daddy' but now I was getting quite frustrated with the fact Uriel kept calling me her dad, so I needed to know why that was before i answer her question "Why do you think I am your father, Uriel"

Putting her hand on her chin, she cutely rubbed it with her small fingers and spoke with conviction, "I feel that we are together" she said with a shy smile. Uriel, having the mind of a 10-year-old, she didn't know the word for connected.

Me already being used to this feeling, but this might have been the first time she ever felt this, so I had to clarify "The word you're looking for is connected, but don't worry you will understand when you follow me"

Uriel looked at me with confusion written all over her the surface of her face, but it was quite fun being cryptic. Anyway, I don't want to journey around with her forever, so I put forth a deal "I am giving us 250 years and when that is over I want us to part ways"

Her confused face morphed into one of depression when she heard my words, so she quickly spoke out her thoughts "No, I want longer" as she pouted in anger.

Chuckling a little, I replied, "We can talk about this later in greater detail" Looking near the door frame, but more specifically at the paper bag that held her clothes in and some food if she wanted.

Picking it up, I handed it over to her and uttered "Here, go back into that room and get changed" watching her look into the bag it almost looks like she found gold with the sparkles shooting off her eyes.

Afterwards, she was done looking in the bag she forgot to say thanks, but I didn't mind after all seeing new clothes and fresh food must have short-circuited her brain as she quickly bolted behind the wall, when the rustling of a bag could soon be heard.

I heard the crunch of an appeal coming from behind the door and I smirked.

I didn't have to wait as long as I thought until Uriel walked out wearing a baggy black jumper with a dark blue top underneath also a bit baggy with tracksuit bottoms having to be folded up, so they didn't get court by the feet and socks with a single purple flower on each surrounded by some trainers.

Not only that, but I couldn't help facepalm and shack in disappointment as the only thing that I could see I got in Uriel's size was the shoes with her hands were hidden away up in the sleeves, but looking at Uriel said otherwise as she couldn't stop smiling.

Well with that being done, I now needed to see whether she missed the optimal window to cultivate, but seeing the smile on her face again, I verbalize "Uriel you can put that smile away" I said softly.

The reply I got was priceless, as it was "No" she said with the smile still plastered on her face.

"Anyway Uriel come here I need to see something" with that she nodded her head and began walking over to me.

With a soft smile, I told her what I was going to do now that she was in front of me "Uriel, I am going to check how old you are to see if you're within the optimal range, ok" She didn't say anything just nodded.

Pulling her sleeve up, so I could get to her slim arm that now had a healthy colour to it, I placed two fingers where you would check someone's pulse, but instead, I sent my Ki in, I was just checking the bones as they can give a rough estimate to a person's age.

Uriel saw a frown appear on daddy's face, which sent her into panic mode, thinking she wouldn't be able to be with daddy.

Looking up at her, I could see she was panicked, but why I don't know. Anyway, I needed to tell her what I found out, "Uriel?" I said with some concern.

Noticing his voice was crackly, she replied sheepishly"Yes, daddy?"

"Well, you're just under 400 years old"
