Bed Time

Standing around for a little longer than I would have liked, I heard a strange noise, but seeing the expression on the woman's face get a bit more lively as a cylinder came flying up the hole and abruptly stopped at the opening.

Observing as she reached to grab the cylinder at the opening. It seemed like a new cylinder, by the way, it didn't have the U on it, but this time there was a Large red letter R drawn onto it.

The receptionist pulled out each of the cores and each of them had their own little letter R drawn on them, the woman seeing this understood the meaning behind it and pulled out the ruler again to judge their pigment.

"Looking at this, I can give you 823 coppers for the four of them and, including the price for the first core," Typing a little "That should take you up to 1.7silver" With a little embarrassed smile she continued"but we still have to wait for your account to be finalized"

Not taking as long as I expected it to be. When her wristband started blinking, seeing her tap on it, she started to converse with the person on the other side and soon a smile bloomed as she ended the call.

"Mr Detoro, It appears as if your account has been set up, so I can now transfer the money over to your account, but if you would please go wait over on one of the chairs for someone to come over to hand you the details on how you can access your bank account"

Being very disgruntled with the process so far didn't help much for my sanity, but right now I didn't really have much to do, so I just went along and sat down where I happened to get a good view of the crowd.

After a few short hours, a man wearing the same colours of the Pride guild walked in through the oversized doors with the golden etched lion going from his neck, down the side and stopping at the hem of the coat.

All the people who had a little lion etched onto their chests stopped to show respect, and this man stopped to show respect to those who had a lion racing around their sides.

A briefcase was busy swinging beside the man who had been searching through the building for a person who needed to be handed their documents and explain the terms of service for joining Pride Banking to them.

Making his way to the reception desk, he was pointed to a rather unpleasant looking man who was sitting on his lonesome. However, what surprised him was that looking at him, he could tell that he wasn't at all embarrassed being surrounded by people of higher status.

Stepping up to the man, he shifted the briefcase from his right hand to his left and raised it for a handshake whilst making greetings "Hello, my name is Louis Bennet from Pride Banks nice to meet you"

Shaking his hand after hearing Louis's greeting, I could feel the disinterest for being here by how loose his hand was, but I still replied in kind"I am Ronin Detoro nice to meet you"

Louis sat a single seat away from Ronin in order to place the briefcase in the empty space because he didn't want to be seen sitting next to him. Beginning to open his briefcase "Well, Mr Detoro I have everything here that allows you to get access to your money"

I have been waiting here for more than 2 hours but yet I haven't heard Louis even try to apologize for his delinquency" I don't appreciate your tardiness"

Being slightly surprised by being called out, he looked away from his briefcase to face Ronin head-on, but he quickly felt a spine, raising sensation that slowly radiated through his body, causing him to become stiff.

"Now tell me what I have been waiting to hear, and quickly"

Louis felt the intensity, pull off him slightly, allowing him to talk, but he didn't understand how he felt like that, as he couldn't feel any Ki coming from Ronin. "O-ok" But he also didn't want to question so quickly opening his briefcase and rapidly sifting through and finding the most important parts.

Giving Ronin his key and his account number, he spoke "T-the bank Is opposite Pinks Flower Shop or n-next to Jack's and Son's Blacksmith"

Standing up, glancing at the paper now in my hand, I didn't give so much as a peek, but I did say some passing words "Thanks for not wasting more of my time"

Finally, being able to leave that mind-numbing building and stretch my legs, I began to read through the papers I was handed by Louis. Pulling all the information that I needed, I started to search for the blacksmith and the flower shop.

Resorting to having to ask for directions again lead me away from where I met Louis.

Leisurely trekking towards my destination, It looked like I made it into the main marketplace, as all I could see was clothing stores plastering their sales prices and food stores advertising their rare and expensive fruits.

However, I happened to see myself in one of the street windows as I passed by, which really made me stop and take second glances trying to understand why I looked like a homeless bum. sighing as I thought "I cannot be looking like this"

Sighing again, I walked further down the street and spotted a bright pink sign waving in the wind that appeared just like a flat rose. Peeking over to the right, I glimpsed through the crowd white building that was out of place as it was squashed between dual coloured buildings.

Getting closer, I spotted the black and gold logo, quite easily against the white limestone.

It wasn't too difficult to get my money out, especially when I was told to walk up to a type of machine that had my name written on it when I typed in my account number and told me how much money I had.

Withdrawing the money after putting in the pin. Giving myself, my only silver and an extra 200 coppers, so I could put them into the crystal, in order to give me a safer margin.

Thinking about one of the clothing stores, I passed earlier made me think about my image I saw in the window and decided it's time for better warmer clothes.

Remembering my way back to the store that had some casual clothes that I liked and walking in I began looking around and found some well-priced tops, but only picked one I preferred, than moving on to trousers, jackets and shoes.

The jacket was a nice sheen black leather that had white fur arching around the neck with a baggy t-shirt and stretchy jeans that matched the black boots. Coming to about 700 coppers, throwing my previous clothes into the bin, I strolled back out.

After all that, I noticed all the heating crystals starting to dim and thought that this might be their way of showing it was getting dark, since the sky was artificial blue mixed with orange, plus I noticed fewer and fewer people out in the open than normal.

Thinking about how I have about 300 coppers left, I could possibly be able to find a place to sleep for the night. Scanning around as, I passed a couple of alleyways, thinking that might be where cheap accommodation.

Finding a raggedy sign that readout INN, that appeared to be hanging from a single string, swivelling in the wind that occasionally beat against the brick wall.

Opening a cracked ridden, rotten door that pierced my ears as the hinges had to be forced to move upon entering. Stepping up to the counter, I communicated loud enough for the bartender to hear"How much for a room?"

In his motion of drying out one of the mugs, he uttered"10 coppers a night and that's all I'm not cooking you breakfast, and I am not whipping your ass, you understand"

Looking at him, I asked, "do you have a bathhouse?"

Slightly angered by this man's uncaring reply, he jabbed back"It's a communal bath space for men and not boys" whilst the bartender looked at the man's small frame.

Throwing 150 coppers coins onto the counter and listening to them jump across the wood, I spoke back"Give me a decent room and I will be staying for 15 days"

The bartender glanced just under his desk where he kept the logbook and rooms 4,7,8 and 11 were free to accommodate customers, but he also knew that rooms 4 and 11 are terrible to live in "I can give you 4 or 11 "

"Show me your logbook"seeing as the bartender's eyes darted around under the desk for a lot longer than what seemed like he was looking at just two numbers, I assumed he was lying.

"Why" as the bartender put down the mug and flicked the towel over his shoulder.

Staring dead into his eyes, "I don't trust scum like you"

"Scum like me"Frowning, his brow"You don't know scum like me"

"I know garbage like you would sell their mother for a dime" I unconsciously forgot how strong an Ascensions soul force was "and if you truly want to give me room 4 and 11" Seeing him buckle at the knees and slowly seeing blood leaking from his nose" if they are not up to my standard I will be back to break one of your legs"
