Chapter 5

Word spread like a raging fire throughout the manor. The young Lord Zane had finally bedded an Omega. The whispers of the house staff in every corner: turning Aaron into a walking sideshow. His own maids would speak softly when he passed by.

He was able to move around more freely now. Still forced into staying in the north wing: alone: he was permitted a small sitting room on that same floor. Not much of a difference compared to his tiny bedroom. The walls were the same shade of a gloomy day. There were no fineries decorated on the furniture; A plain chair and table sat in the back while two tall bookcases leaned against baron brick.

The one thing that stood out was the window. larger in comparison to the one in his room. Opening it up he looked down.

Aaron frowned.

"A straight fall to my death." He murmured. Sitting back in the chair; he looked out. The same dead scenery. He couldn't help but break out into a laughter.

"I must be an idiot or somthing! What am I even doing?"

A grand escape was all that had been on his mind since he arrived. His fantasy was to escape the manor, possibly grab some valuables to sell on the market once out. Using that money to build himself a home: Far from anyone and everyone. Where he could be free: safe.

However, he had now become a plaything to the Young lord.

He ran his hand along the side of his neck: the red marks had just about disappeared. Zane's scent had already dissipated.

"Just a plaything".

He thought back to the smirk on Zane's face.

Wondering if all this was the Alpha's doing. Aaron convinced himself that the tiny bedroom was his only solace while staying there. The ability to move freely in the wing of the manor opened up new possibilities.

The only damper on his days here were the constant watchful eyes of his 'guards'.

Guard dogs: what Aaron referred to them as. Always sniffing around.

"It's stifling, how can someone live like this?" He asked himself.

Leaning back he turned his head back to the window. Through the fogged glass was a figure moving about outside. Aaron wiped the condensation away and squinted.

Standing on the snowy landscape below him was the blonde headed Alpha himself.

"Zane".

He looked as if he was talking to someone. One of the grounds trees was blocking Aaron's view. Not to mention his consistent breathing, making the glass continuously fog up: having to wipe it a couple times with his hand.

He had moved his hand swiftly, almost like the two were making a transaction.

Wiping it away for a third time he leaned closer to look. This time Zane's eyes met his. A distinct scowl crossed Zane's face.

Aaron leaned far away from the window.

Peeking back out, the Alpha was gone.

"So even he has secrets". Rhythmically tapping his fingers against the pane of the window he let out a sigh.

"Sir?" A female voice came from the doorway. Turning: Aaron didn't recognize the young maid.

"Forgive my intrusion, Master Zeke has asked me to summon you to his study.

His expression narrowed.

"Why?"

"I'm terribly sorry, I don't know of his intentions. I am only following his command".

Aaron thought a moment. Crossing his arms over his chest.

"I am certain I was purchased for Alpha Zane, surly I shouldn't be allowed to entertain another Alpha?" He acted all mighty. If it wasn't one brother he had to look out for it was the other.

"Pardon my straightforwardness, but he hasn't requested to be entertained." The maid spoke slowly.

He sighed.

"Alright then". Un-crossing his arms in slight defeat.

He followed behind the young woman. The walk to the study was silent. Only the patter of their feet on the carpets that lined the halls. The maid in the front, Aaron behind her and, as usual, the two guard dogs on his right an left.

The maid tapped on the door lightly.

"Master Zeke, I've brought the Omega?" She stood waiting for a reply.

There was a small pause.

"He may enter!", the all too familiar chipper voice of Zeke Fletch shook Aaron's very being. It sent shivers down his spine.

The door creaked open as Aaron stepped it.

The room was adorned with paintings that stretched from one wall to the other. Most depicted the manor itself, surrounded by luscious gardens. Hand painted carefully with no detail spared.

Aaron was entranced by the vibrant colors. He lightly brushed the painting with his fingertips: hoping to collect its depiction of a summers day.

"That painting was a gift from a very wealthy patron", a voice trickled down the Omega's ear.

Aaron jolted forward: looking behind him. Zeke grinned like a Cheshire cat as he basked in Aaron's reaction.

"What and intriguing reaction! You act as if someone is out to get you". He partially laughed.

The Omega felt slightly warm in his cheeks.

"Come. Sit." He motioned for Aaron to move to the side of the room.

Zeke sat, leg crossed, on a small sofa. Aaron took the spot across from him. The FURTHEST spot across from him."

Zeke seemed to study the Omega as he scanned his body head to toe.

"What exactly are you looking at?" Aaron questioned with disgust.

"I just happened to be a bit jealous is all." Zeke gave a sorrowful look.

"I was just thinking how wonderful it would have been if you had dressed up so nicely for me like you did my brother that night". He grinned.

Aaron glowered.

"Not a chance".

"Such a shame for me I suppose. Seeing you in such refined clothing, it kind of turned me on".

Aaron recoiled at the comment but stayed calm.

"Pretty brazen of you to say these things to your brothers mate wouldn't you say?" He retorted.

"How presumptuous of you to think the two of you actually are." Zeke lashed back.

Aaron tried to remain in control of his temper.

"If you called me here to just insult me then I can just see myself out", He stood.

"Now now just calm down, it wasn't my intent to do so", Zeke waved his hand at him.

"I'm more curious why the two of you are lying to everyone."

Aaron froze.

"What do you mean?" He chuckled.

Zeke slightly tilted his head to the side

"I mean I was in a world of shock when he suddenly decided to fornicate, when he absolutly detests Omegas. He specifically asked our father to give you more room to move about the manor."

He leaned back, arms crossed.

Aaron didn't move.

"What I can't seem to figure out is why".

"Are you holding somthing over Zane by chance?"

"Sorry I don't follow." Aaron responded. His heart was beating fast. His palms stared to sweat.

"I know you havn't actually bedded with him." Zeke's straight forward comment silenced the room.

Aaron bit his lip.

"So I'll ask again. Why the charade?" Zeke waited for a response.

Aaron tried to find a beneficial answer for him.

Zeke stood up from his seat. Sauntering over to the brown haired male, he stood looking down at him.

Aaron looked up at him. Fronting a neutral expression.

The Alpha swiftly shot his arms out and gripped the wood edges on the back of the couch. He arms gripping the wood on both sides of Aaron's head. leaning closer, taking his knee and placing it between Aaron's legs to hold himself steady.

The omega's expression rapidly changed.

"At least get a little better at lying", Zeke gazed into Aaron's eyes as he spoke.

"If you don't want to say, why, that's fine but know that the next person who asks may not let you off so easily."

They silently stared at one another.

He pulled off of Aaron and took a step to the side.

"In any case I asked you here to give you a warning. Watch your back. Specifically tomorrow night".

"Tomorrow night?"

Zeke moved away from Aaron.

"My father is hosting a gala for his closest clients. That means there will be a lot of people here."

"Normally Omegas are not permitted to these events and you would stay in your room."

"However, I have a hunch he will probably have you make an appearance: just for show".

Aaron couldn't see the problem. It was written all over his face.

"The clients are all Alpha" Zeke explained.

"Because of this there is a higher chance of you possibly going into heat. Is that what you want?"

"Why are you telling me all this?" The Omega asked. "What do you have to gain by telling me any of this?"

Zeke thought a moment.

"Probably that you'll get to stick around longer. and you having the knowledge that you would owe me one". He smiled.

Aaron shifted his gaze to the floor.

Zeke pulled somthing from his pocket. He took Aaron's hand and placed a pill into his palm.

"What is this?"

"Think of it as extra insurance. This is a new form of medicine that hasn't been released yet. If you feel your heat coming on just take that. Then it will go away. A type of suppressant if you will".

Aaron had heard of these types of medicine before but had never seen it.

He pocketed the pill.

"What do you want in return?" Aaron asked. "I'm sure items like this come with a price?"

Zane's lips curled into a smile.

"When the time comes to repay me you'll know".

He walked to the doors to the main hallway.

"Until that time just remember what I told you". He opened the door for Aaron, ushering him out with a grin as their conference was now over.
